The Weekend of the Who-verse

I finished An Accidental Bond and reread the last chapter of Pick Up the Pieces and Rebuild. There were new chapters for Seerking’s Asylum (2 chapters), Ashes to Flame, Mauling Snarks, Cambion and Another Fine Mess. I also reread some of sakurademonalchemists fics.

The first was ‘Iron Maiden,’ which is a Harry Potter and Iron Man crossover. It has a female Harry running away after sixth year and getting an internship under Tony. She does this because he is her real father and it takes a while for that to come out. It’s interesting and I like it, just as before wishing they worked to complete more of their fics. The second was ‘Fillies and Colts,’ which is a Harry Potter and KHR crossover. It has Dino Chaivarone being the first-born son of Lily Evans (who married into the Chaivarone). She was lured back because of the war and ‘lost’ her memory (read, James wanted her, so he caused her to forget her life in Italy) and ‘married’ James (she was already married so it didn’t take). The next one, ‘Paranormal Investigator Squad,’ was a new one that came out on Halloween. There’s only one chapter so far, but it’s a KHR where Tsuna and his mother’s family are spiritualists and Tsuna can see ghosts. The last one (from sakurademonalchemist and also a new one), is called ‘It’s in the Cards.’ It’s a KHR and Card Captor Sakura (CCS) fic where a female Tsuna finds the Clow book and becomes the Card Captor. The last fanfic is ‘Overservations of a Wannabe Kunoichi’ by Quatermass. It’s a Naruto fic where Sakura decides to investigate things while in the academy and finds Naruto’s secret. I also watch the Christmas special that started off the Sarah Jane Adventures, “Invasion of the Bane.” It’s about a former companion of The Doctor, Sarah Jane Smith, and her teenage companions helping to save the earth and the people on it from aliens. It’s fairy interesting, but I’m only watching it because it’s next on the list to watch in the whole Doctor Who continuity.

Saturday

I started rereading Black Sky from about 100 chapters from the current chapter. There were also new chapters for Harry Potter and the Stargate, Relic of the Future, Tsunami, It’s in the Cards, Queen of the Seas, Heroes Assemble!, Cambion and Another Fine Mess. I spent the rest of the day watching shows from the Doctor Who continuity.

I watched the first season of The Sarah Jane Adventures. It was okay, but it honestly really see it as just another spin-off just to make money. It had only 10 episodes, with every story being two episodes long.

I also watched the Christmas special in between seasons three and four of Doctor Who called, ‘Voyage of the Damned.’ It has The Doctor finding himself aboard an alien cruise liner called ‘Titanic,’ “Because it’s the most famous ship name on Earth,” the crew says. Lol, yeah, but not for good reasons. Of course, with The Doctor and a ship named Titanic, thing are obviously going to go wrong. It was interesting and The Doctor got to say ‘Allons-y Alonso’ (which was mentioned at the end of season two). I also watched the first few episodes of the fourth season and was interested to see Donna back and see the 12th Doctor’s actor in one of the episodes (just as a cast member, still one more Doctor and several seasons he even learned he would be The Doctor).

I then started watching the second season of Torchwood. I actually like Torchwood. The cast actually feels real (unlike the kind of unrealistic relationships in Adventures) and you can empathize with them. Things are starting to go down and I wonder how many members will be there at the end?

Sunday

I reread some more Black Sky and slept a lot today because my dog woke me up because of a storm again last night. There was only an omake from Taylor Varga today to placate those wanting a new chapter. No other new chapters, but I did watch more from the Doctor Who continuity.

I finished Torchwood season two and wow is it a sad overall story. I’m not going to talk about it (ya know, spoilers wink), but so many things culminated at the end that it was kind in your face (especially with Gray). How to pick up from that I don’t know (well, Jack knows, sadly), but it’s not something to look forward to.

I also finished the fourth season of Doctor Who and got to see all the shows combine for the last storyline of the season (even some older characters!) I was sad that Donna was only a companion for a season like Martha was. However we also meet River Song for the ‘first’ time (she knows more than that, but ya know spoilers).

I watched the first two episodes (one story) of the second season of The Sarah Jane Adventures and I’m already less interested than the last season. Also, the kind of main female teenage character (who admittedly was not in the season four Doctor Who conclusion) leaving the show after one storyline is kinda sad (for the show, not sad, sad).

Monday

Once again I reread more Black Sky, but I may finish tomorrow! There were new chapters for Tsunami and Mauling Snarks, but that was it. I spent most of the day studying and playing KHUx and Fate/GO.

There was a new chapter from ‘Jaune Ryu-Long, the Dragon Contractor’ by azndrgn. It’s a RWBY fic where Jaune is kicked out of Arc family; only to find out he can use dragon powers and summon them. The only downside is that he has to marry six women (RWBY, Pyrrha and another side character). This is the 60th chapter and it’s the first update in a while (at least almost three months because I haven’t mentioned it here). It’s good and the first fic I read from this author. The only other update I got was from an older story, ‘double jue’ by kurohaha. It’s a Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug and Cat Noir story where Cat Noir is shot on a patrol and finds his way onto Marinette’s balcony. She come home (from a family event) and finds and helps him, this leads to them getting to know each other better. It update was just a note saying they don’t know if it’s going to continue or not. Since there is nothing else for today (and I have some time), I’ll talk about The Irregular at Magic High School. It’s a Japanese light novel turned anime that I’m a fan of. The story is about Tatsuya and Miyuki Shiba going to a magic high school. Magic is technology based and has a science behind it. While the older of the two ‘siblings’ Tatsuya is in the Course 2, while Miyuki is in Course 1. Tatsuya is also more subservient to Miyuki and things are not as they seem. There are 26 light novels in Japan (there are 9 out in America, so far) with another coming out on the 10th of this month. The anime was only one season and there is an movie (that I didn’t know about until now, it’s a side story that’s not in the light novels) that came out last year. I would recommend it, both the anime and light novels.

While I was looking up stuff about Irregular at Magic High School, I got an email saying that a new chapter of Cambion came out and I read it. That really is it for today and this post, so I’ll see everyone on Thursday. And vote tomorrow if you’re from USA and haven’t yet, I know I will!

Today’s going to be a bit long, just so you know. Something I didn’t mention yesterday (because I was running out of time) was that the author brown phantom posted a lot. I follow his account so I get updates even for stories I haven’t read. There were a few that I read the new update so I’ll talk about them for now.

‘Keibatsu’ is about a Naruto AU where the Fourth Hokage rapes Kushina to make Naruto. When she’s killed she releases the Kyuubi and after rampaging for her sake, he is sealed into Naruto. The Fourth decides to pretend to die and lead Akatsuki. The leadership (and most of the village) follow his plan and it works until Naruto finds the Third’s journal detailing what has happened and is planed for him. He escapes and takes Hinata (the only one that doesn’t hate him, despite many attempts to force her to) with him. Kyuubi helps and they decide to go against Konoha. The second one is called ‘Secret Saotomes’ and is a crossover between Ranma 1/2 and an American TV show (that I’ve never seen before) called Secret Saturdays. The Saotomes take the place of the family in the show and are trying to save ‘cryptids’ from the bad guys. It’s okay, but knowing more about the show would be better. Maybe I’ll watch it sometime. I read new chapters for GATE: Thus the Chosen One Fought There, Master Potter of Kamar-Taj and Seerking’s Asylum (the end of the current short story that he might continue or somebody else might adopt). I also finished rereading Harry Potter – Three to Backstep and reread Enough (the White Angel of Auralon story that ended recently).

There was a new chapter for a story I haven’t mentioned, called ‘Son of Holmes’ by Syliphen Zora Riddle. It’s a crossover with the British show “Sherlock” and Harry Potter. It has a wizard killing the Dursleys when Harry was young. He kills them thinking that Dudley was Harry (as he was in his cupboard at the time). When Sherlock Holmes (who’s a wizard) investigates, he finds and adopts Harry. It’s not very far in, but it looks interesting. I also started reading ‘Naruto: Shinobi Institute of Performance Analysis’ by MaxFic. It’s a Naruto fic that has his team going through a program (the one mentioned in the title) that Orochimaru suggested to find out what each shinobi is good at and suggest paths when Kakashi cannot meet them the first day because of an important mission. It’s really good and shows how people’s issues should be dealt with unlike how they’re dealt with in most shows. I also started watching Tokyo Ghoul, but decided that reading the manga would be more interesting. I know many people like it and I figured with Halloween coming up, it would be a good one to read. I finished the original manga right before this and will start reading it’s sequel Tokyo Ghoul:re tomorrow.

For those who don’t know, Tokyo Ghoul is about a world where human and ghouls live together. Ghouls eat humans and hide from them (the only way to tell by looking at them is if they want to eat and their black and red eyes are showing). In this Ken Kaneki gets a date with a girl who turns out to be a ghoul that tries to eat him. She is ‘killed’ in an ‘accident’ and a doctor implants parts of her in him to ‘save his life’ (There are reasons those are in quotes that you have to read the story to understand). He wakes up a ghoul and has to deal with his new urges and one eye that turns red when he’s hungry. Watch as he shakes up the world in Tokyo Ghoul!

Other than that, PoGo started their Halloween event. Two new Pokémon (Drifloon and Stunky) and their evolutions are now available in the wild. I got at least one of each and hope to evolve them soon. Also there’s a new 3 part special research to get Spiritomb (stock up on Berries, you’re going to need at least 108 of them just for the first set of three quests).

Wednesday

Lol, so I’m obviously a little off today. For a little while, even though I knew that there was a Wednesday only event happening, I thought it was tomorrow and felt I had to rush back home to finish the post. It wasn’t until I got a few lines in below that I realized and laughed at myself.

So I read and finished Toyko Ghoul:re. At first I was a little confused because the main character was different (and I didn’t know him), but I realized that things were fine and that he was someone from the first manga (just very different). (This is as far as I got, btw). I’m not going to spoil things, but Sasaki Haise is someone from the first Tokyo Ghoul (so keep reading even if you’re a little confused). Hope people read both of them!

There were updates for Harry Potter and the Stargate, Mauling Snarks (a PHO interlude), and Heroes Assemble!. There was also Seerking’s new chapter for his next story in the rotation, ‘Worm – Waterworks.’ It’s a Worm story that has Taylor gaining the power to control water, a hydrokinetic to be scientific. Other than reading a few more chapters in Fate’s Gamble, I started rereading another of Sinyk’s stories, ‘Angry Harry and the Seven.’ It’s a Harry Potter story that has him with eidetic memory and an angry streak because of the soul fragment in his scar before he gets to Hogwarts. Thursday

Today was a pretty singular story day. I mostly focused on Harry Potter and the Seven (it has 87 and I’m on chapter 79 now). There was a new chapter from Seerking’s Asylum (a second chapter from the one on chapter 69), but that was it for one’s I’ve mentioned before. There was a new (and final) chapter for ‘Hollow Magic’ by Baleygr.

It’s a Harry Potter and Bleach crossover that has Harry betrayed by his friends and in a plot by Voldemort is sent to Azkaban after the fifth book. Being in the presence of dementors causes him to faint eventually and he awakens Ulquiorra Cifer’s memories and becomes him. He gets out and works to finish his business in England to get to Orihime in Japan. This is a short story (9 chapers) and it’s kinda, meh, in my books. This last chapter is just a ‘things happen and it’s the end’ ending. I also evolved Stunky, Buneary and fully evolved the fire started for the fourth gen to get Infernape. This means I’m only missing Torterra, Empoleon (the final evolution of the grass and water starters respectively), Staraptor, Luxio, Luxray (the evolutions of Shinx that you can only get in a raid currently), Spiritomb, Riolu, Lucario, and the two regionals, Chatot and Carnivine of the Gen 4 that are out. I also finally used 108 berries and was able to get to the second set of three tasks. Now I have to catch 108 Pokémon (which for me is much easier than the berries, cause you don’t have to spin stops to catch Pokémon [other than for pokéballs and I have plenty of regular ones] and I already have 27), catch 10 dark types (I only need one more) and spin 8 Pokéstops I haven’t before (which should be fairly simple, just go to a part of the city I don’t go to much and it’ll be easy). Hopefully, I’ll be done tomorrow with it and I’ll catch Spiritomb!

A Sinyk Weekend

Today I had more Fate’s Gamble and that was mostly all I did for the day reading wise.   There was of course today’s new Mauling Snarks chapter, but no other new chapters for stories. However, there was a new sequel for a series I liked that came out today. It’s the third in the series and it’s called ‘Ashes to Flame’ by rayrae118.

The series is based of the 2009 remake Star Trek films (way too much here to try and explain; look it up or don’t worry about it if you don’t know about it). The first one ‘Another Little White Lie’, starts after he drives his stepfather’s car off the cliff. He’s sent to his aunt on Tarsus IV (which I just looked up and apparently is cannon, well that he’s there at least) and lives through the tragedy there. From there he looks after the kids he saved (from a distance) and (as he’s much smarter than canon) gets a higher education. Eventually leading to a similar, but different bar scene before he joins the academy. This one goes to end of the first movie. The second one goes extrapolates on things, but deals with things before and after the second movie. The author has written two other series, a Harry Potter one and an X-Men one, that I also recommend. The first one is a Harry/Ginny one that starts at the end of third year (and goes through the fourth year) called ‘It’s OK Not To Be OK (But I Promise, I’m Trying).’ It has Harry having to deal with the abuse of the Dursley’s and getting help to overcome what happened (a common theme for this author. The second one is a “X-Men: First Class” AU where Charles and Erik go to see a different last mutant, which changes things that happen. I also went to Target to get my Zekrom/Reshiram code (I only got one because I had to convince the people that the while the Thundurus/Tornadus ones they had [of which there were many] could be redeemed through the 29 of this month; their event was technically over and the other one started today. When the box of them was checked, I was right ^_^) and Game Stop to get the Zeraora code (And once again, I have all the current Pokémon!)

Today was more Fate’s Gamble (and I might take a break. Don’t know why this time is harder than before. I’m only up to 44 of 80.). I got a few new chapters for Relic of the Future and Harry Potter and the Stargate (I enjoyed Harry’s parody of Albus in this chapter). I decided to reread the second as it only has 16 chapter and I finished 11 of them today (on a side note, I didn’t realize [because I ignored the A/Ns] that there’s a reference to the British 1998 film the “The Avengers” [Nothing to do with the Marvel Universe at all to my knowledge, having not watched it]. This is because Petunia Dursley’s and Horace Slughorn’s actors had main roles in it. It was a clever reference).

In new chapters for stories I haven’t mentioned yet, I learn that ‘Naruto the Mightiest Disciple!’ by godospartain the Kitsune is going on Hiatus. As they haven’t updated it in forever (it started in 2011 and the last chapter we got from them was in 2017, a year after the chapter before it was posted), I was surprised to even hear from them. It’s a Naruto and Kenichi the Mightiest Disciple crossover that has Naruto (3 years old) being sent away via jutsu by the Third after being stabbed by Danzo. He ends up in the KtMD universe and being raised by Ryozanpaku along with Miu. It’s okay (I haven’t read it in a while), but you can read it if you want. The second chapter was from a Naruto story called ‘Better Left Unsaid’ by Kenichi618. It has Naruto not learning he has the Kyuubi from Mizuki and ending up on team 9 with Ino and Shikamaru. This changes many things. I like both this one and the author. They have quite a few stories and while some are not my cup of tea (or I don’t know the original story well enough), they have some good ones. So, I finished rereading Harry Potter and the Stargate (the next chapter comes out on Wednesday). There were new chapters for The Unseen Hunt and Enough (the eighth and last chapter). Other than that I decided to reread some of Sinyk’s other stories I haven’t mention yet (I think).

The first one was ‘Harry Potter and the Old Friend’ which is nine chapters. It has Ignotus Peverell (the third brother that had the Deathly Hallows) taking over Harry’s body a little before his eleventh birthday and setting things up to change the future for the better. The second one was ‘Harry Potter – Three to Backstep’. It has Harry dying to Voldemort in the forest in a vastly different Battle of Hogwarts. He ends up in front of his Grim Reaper/Guardian Angel and learns it’s his 6th death and Heaven is sending back with Hermione and Daphine Greengrass (With a soul-bond between them) to the beginning of 4th year to fix things (including dealing with potioning the younger two Weasley’s are doing to make them love/be loyal to them and Dumbles’ manipulations). I’m still working on Harry Potter – Three to Backstep (only 9 chapters left!). I was very happen to see a new chapter for ‘Pick up the Pieces and Rebuild’ when I woke up this morning. There were also new chapters from History Strongest Disciple Again!, How Eating a Strange Fruit Gave Me My Quirk, Mending the Knots and Mauling Snarks.

There was also a new chapter for another one of ack1308’s stories ‘Trump Card’ (which has nothing to do with the President). It’s a Worm story (big surprise) where Taylor gets the power to copy another parahuman’s power that’s within her range. She ends up with Über and L33t. This chapter is supposed to be the second to last, but maybe there’ll be a sequel (there’s a lot of unfinished business, a least I think). I also went to Game Stop and sold my old Pokemon Games (White, X, Y, Omega Ruby, Alpha Sapphire, Sun and Moon [the last two are extra copies I got to get more hat Pikachu’s in a past event]) to go towards the Let’s Go games. I also got my second (and last, because I only have one of each of the Ultra games) Zeraora code while I was there.

Sorry again for being late for the last post. I got the normal new chapter for Mauling Snarks along with a new one for Cambion. Other than reading some more Harry Potter and the Daft Morons, I read some new chapters for fics I haven’t mentioned before and actually read a physical book!

The first of the new chapters was for ‘Master Potter of Kamar-Taj’ by Ryuko monogatari. If I mentioned this one before, bear with me (I looked when I got the last updates and couldn’t find them mentioned on the corresponding days on the blog). It’s an Avengers and Harry Potter crossover where Harry studies under Doctor Strange before going to Hogwarts. It’s almost to the end of first year, storyline wise. The second fanfic I read only the first chapter, but it’s finished. It’s called ‘Second Chances are Fought For’ by fg7dragon. It’s a Naruto and Fate/Stay Night crossover that has Naruto being summoned by Rin instead of Archer (EMIYA). He changes everything. fg7dragon is a good author and I would recommend them, but there are a few fics they haven’t updated in a good while. I’ll get around to them, but Naruto is a common theme between most of their fics. The link to their FF.com page is – https://www.fanfiction.net/u/2085016/fg7dragon.

The last new chapter was from ‘Game On! 3 0’ by nordiamus. It’s the third in the Game On! Series. It’s about Harriet Potter who died sometime after becoming the Master of Death. She chooses to reincarnate several times helping heroes in order to save her mother’s soul. She at least gets a Gamer system to help her. The first fic has her in KHR. The second fic has her in Fullmetal Alchemist. The one I got several updates for today has her in InuYasha. The link to the first one is here – https://www.fanfiction.net/s/11799646/1/Game-On.

Well since I just mentioned two series I haven’t talked about yet, I’ll talk about them before I go into the book. Fullmetal Alchemist (FMA) is about Edward and Alphonse Elric who are alchemists. Their mother died when they were young (and their father left before that [the story eventually explains it]) so they tried to do the forbidden and bring her back. As a reward, Ed lost a leg and an arm and Al lost his body and his soul is bonded into a suit of armor. Ed gets an automail (a fully functioning mechanical replacement) arm and leg and joins the military to find a way to recover what was taken from them. Many things happen along the way and long hidden secrets are revealed. I would very much suggest this, in its manga and second anime at least. The original FMA was okay for a while, but then diverted and I at least wasn’t a huge fan. FMA: Brotherhood was really good though.

InuYasha is about a young 1990’s high school girl, Kagome, getting dragged into a well at her home (in a shrine) and ending up in the Edo period (between 1603 and 1868, don’t know when during it). There she finds out that demons are real and that she is the reincarnation of the priestess Kikyo who died in that period over half a century ago. Kikyo was the guardian of the Shikon Jewel and it reappeared in Kagome’s body. She frees a half dog-demon InuYasha (who was sealed by Kikyo and has a history with her) to save her from another demon who wants the jewel. Soon the Jewel is shattered (by Kagome on accident) and she, InuYasha and friends they find along the way have to find all the pieces to complete the Jewel and stop others from using it for evil. Luckily, she can at least return home sometimes, though InuYasha can follow her. I recommend this one as well, both the manga and anime.

Finally, I read the first book in the Baccano! series that I mentioned last time. It’s called “The Rolling Bootlegs” and focuses on how both groups get their immortality, though not much about the first group. I was wrong last time, there are 22 books out and the 23rd is the one delayed. That’s it for today, see you on the next line!

I read several completely new fics today, but also some new chapters. The new chapters were from Harry Potter and the Stargate, Stand Together and Smile and Relic of the Future. I also read till chapter 64 (of 84) of Harry Potter and the Daft Morons.

The first new fic was ‘Protector of the Fairies’ by Takei Daloui. It’s a Fairy Tail and Bleach crossover. It has Bleach elements built into the Fairy Tail world rather than having a character (or two) just dropped into it. It’s interesting, I haven’t finished it (I’m reading it slowly on the side) as it has 251 chapters and it’s not finished yet. The second new story is ‘Relics of the Past’ by Cyrro. It’s Naruto fic where Iruka is from Whirlpool and takes Naruto in when he’s young. Along with a female Itachi and Sasuke, things are gonna be weird. I also haven’t finished this one because it’s 183 chapters. I’m going to be reading these with a few chapters a day, if that. The last new story is called ‘Clouds in the Sky’ by EriLenx07. It’s a crossover with Harry Potter and KHR. It has a female Harry meeting Hibari in her neighborhood after 5th year (because Vernon is in the mafia). They then spend many hours together. At least, Harriet is back at Hogwarts in the story now (the author spent too much time pre-Hogwarts in my opinion). It’s unfinished, but interesting. Finally I read the pdf version of the second of the Baccano! light novels, “1931 – The Grand Punk Railroad – Local Episode.” By the way, the author’s name is Ryohgo Narita (I don’t think I mentioned that).

There’s not much for today, though there were quite a few new chapters today. Here’s a list of them: The Unseen Hunt, It Gets Worse (this was the last chapter), The Remnant Knight, Enough (the second to last chapter) and Rising Dragon, Hidden Hammers. I also finished rereading Harry Potter and the Daft Morons (I hope Sinyk gets back to it soon).

I read two chapters of Honestly Harry – The Year of the Rock. However, the only other thing was the pdf of the third Baccano! light novel, “1931 – The Grand Punk Railroad – Express Episode.”

What shall I talk about in this free space? Hm, how about I talk about one of my favorite manga/animes Case Closed (in America, even though it stopped being dubbed after 6 seasons) or Detective Conan. It’s about Shinichi Kudo (I’m going with the Japanese names in English style. Why? Because I watch mostly the sub version to keep up), whose a high school detective that has helped the police solve many cases. He goes to a theme park with his not-girlfriend Ran Mori and after he solves a case there, follows some shady men. One of them catches him and forces him to take a poison that should kill him. However, it actually de-ages him to elementary school age. He eventually ends up staying with Ran and her (not very good) detective father, Kogoro Mori. Neither knows who he really is and he depends on his inventor neighbor to help him solve Kogoro’s cases for him. All while trying to find the people who did this to him to get back his body. This is no easy task, as is shown in that it’s still going after 24 years (the manga started in 1994 and isn’t finished yet). It has over 1000 chapters (though it’s on hiatus for the author’s medical treatment), over 900 episodes and over 20 movies. It must be doing something right. The animation is older at first, but gets better as the years go by. I really recommend this to anyone who is a fan of mystery shows.

My dog kept me up again because of storms, but I slept late so I’m okay. The only new chapter (from a story I’ve already talked about) I got today was Mauling Snarks, I guess to make up for yesterday’s haul. I got a new chapter for a Seerking story (one that’s not in his normal rotation) called ‘Ranma: Happenstance Gone Right.’ It’s a Ranma ½ story that has Akane not being able to be his fiancée after a diversion in one of the events that makes it so that only Shampoo and Ukyo can marry him. I also rewatched the first few episodes of Log Horizon. It’s a light novel turned anime about a lot of people playing an online game being transported into the game. The main character, Shiroe, along with his friends have to figure out how to live in this new situation while trying to figure out what happened. I like this one and have watched it several times, I hope a third season eventually comes out.

I also reread ‘The Road not Taken’ by sbmcneil. It’s a Harry Potter fic that has Sirius meeting Harry after he runs away in the third book and taking him away for the summer. I last story I started rereading today was ‘Harry and Ginny: A Love Story’ by Epeefencer. It’s a Soul Bond that happens after the Chamber. Harry is drawn to help Ginny and its discovered they have a soul bond. Forces work to help and protect them, while Dumbledore is trying to find out why his plans have gone wrong. It’s interesting and I suggest it, even if it hasn’t been updated since 2015 (the author updates some of their other fics, sometimes). The Long (Holiday) Weekend

Today I continued rereading Legion, but I didn’t finish and only got to chapter 20. There were some new chapters that I read for Queen of the Seas, Cambion, Mauling Snarks and Parva Sub Ingenti. I also played some Pokémon Sun.

As I might have mentioned in my first post, I have all of the Pokémon on the main games in my Pokémon Bank. When I say that I mean that I have at least one copy of every Pokémon released (I hatched eggs from the fully evolved forms to get it so. I got the mythical ones from the events for the 20th anniversary.). One day when I was bored, I decided to level all of them up to 100.

It’s not easy let me tell you that. I have ‘level caps’ that I get them to then go to the next one to raise to that level cap. It goes 20, 35, 50, 70, 90 and finally 100. I can proudly say that none of them are less than level 35.

What I’ve done typically is to restart a game that I’ve cleared all but one my Pokémon in (cause one has to be in the party) and start playing. Since none of my target Pokémon are below 35 I train up extra or event Pokémon (like my hat Pikachus. It’s too bad the ones in the original games can’t evolve, I have enough for that. Maybe with the Let’s Go games I’ll be able to transfer some of my hat Raichus. Who knows?  I also finally got Celebi on PoGo thanks to the psychic event!

Anyway, the only other story I read was ‘Secrecy’ by Serena530. It’s a Harry Potter story where Harry learns Ron and Dumbledore are betraying him at the beginning of 2nd year. He starts staying away from Ron and Hermione (because she doesn’t notice the changes Ron forces on him) and becomes friends with Ginny. Watch how Harry and Ginny deal with the challenges that come before them! I like this one, but the author hasn’t updated it in a while. Hm, so I did a lot today. First of all I finished off Legion (wow four chapters, snort). Second I read the new chapters for Queen of the Seas and Relic of the Future. There was also a new chapter for a story called ‘Sealed Legacy’ by Psycho G. It’s a Naruto story where when Naruto is young, Jiraya stumbles upon a Uzumaki seal that when he activates it (not knowing what it does) almost kills him sending his knowledge and chakra to Naruto. Naruto slowly gets this knowledge and gets some of Jiraya’s habits too. It’s a good story but hasn’t been updated in while, so I was surprised to see it. Third, I started rewatching Darker Than Black because I kept getting updates for a story about it from an author I’m following named Brennus. They wrote a one-shot I mentioned earlier called ‘In the Heat of the Night.’ The story was called ‘Darker Than Black – Heaven’s Gate,’ and I rewatched some of it to remember the characters and story.

Darker Than Black is an anime about Hei, who has the ability to control electricity. He is a ‘contractor,’ someone who’s lost their emotions to get a power. They and ‘Dolls’ (those who also lost their emotions, but can track people instead) evolved from some people when the ‘Heaven Gate’ and ‘Hell Gate’ appeared one day. Hei or as he is dubbed ‘The Black Reaper’ works for ‘The Syndicate’ in tracking down targets and information.

Hei is not a normal contractor as he shows some emotions. He works with a Doll named Yin, an animal consciousness transfer contractor (this means that he can transfer his consciousness to animal) who is stuck in a cat’s body after his own died and a bitter human named Huang who doesn’t like contractors who is the leader. Hei wants to find his sister who disappeared and gets caught up in many events.

I only watched 13 of the 24 episodes (for now), but it was enough for what I needed and read the story. It’s okay, the story takes place after the second series and the author kills off the main female protagonist so another can get together with the main character. Fourth, I started looking for a story I couldn’t remember the name of and now I think its been deleted from Fanfiction.net. I have a store of all the stories on it up to 2015 (no, I didn’t make it) that I eventually found a while back. I eventually found it, ‘Survival of the Lamest’ and its sequel ‘Revenge of the Lamest’ by ShadowMajin.

It’s about Gohan’s class (before he goes to school) goes to his home to ‘camp’, silliness ensues. Also, Goku is alive for some reason. The second one is when Gohan actually goes to school. (This is Monday Matt – I was wrong these two are still up, see my day to get more on this.) I also found ‘Impasse’ and ‘Finesse’ by Dr. Trunks Briefs, I’ll talk about theses when I read them. (Monday Matt again, these are gone from ff.net.)

I didn’t read any of these, but if some wants to read them, let me know and I can send them to you. If anyone wants the archive, I’ll look up the link I got it from and send it to you. However just the zip files for them are several GB large each and the A archive (the archive for all the stories that start with A [the original stories not the fanfiction] and their crossovers) is 10.86 GB. So if want the archive make sure you have lots of space.

Moving on, I also read a new story for me called ‘Eighteen Years a Prodigy’ by AUS Wild Thing. It’s a Dragon Ball Z story I found while searching for the above stories. It’s about Videl, Erasa, and Sharpener going to a work-study program at Capsule Corp (CC). There they meet Gohan who has worked for CC (and never gone to school) for 2 years and is the head of Science and Inventing. It’s an interesting story, but slow updates based on it being started in 2015 and the latest update (the 5th chapter) being in November 2017. The story I mentioned yesterday is called Soul Land and I discovered it yesterday after reading a fanfiction that has it as a crossover with KHR. The fanfiction is a new one by sakurademonalchemist (so soon after the start of Queen of the Seas? Really?) called ‘Rising Dragon, Hidden Hammers.’ It has Fon reborn along with the main character and changing the story. Viper/Mammon is also tagged so I assume he/she (the original story never shows their gender) will be in it too. Only one chapter so couldn’t tell how will go. It says it’s crossovered with ManHua/Chinese Comics, but that’s just because there aren’t many fanfictions for Chinese comics (or Korean ones) so they just lump them all together into one category for each country.

Anyway, after reading the chapter I went to find the original story. Soul Land is about Tang San (no, San is his name not a Japanese honorific) who is reincarnated after killing himself for stealing secrets from his clan to help them. At 6 they get a spirit that they can train to get stronger. He gets a Blue Silver Grass (a weak spirit) and a Hammer. He hides the hammer (because none has two spirits) but proves he’s powerful by showing he has lots of spirit power. He goes to an academy to learn how to train his spirit. He has many adventures after that.

I started reading the manga yesterday, but only got to about chapter 21. Today I got to chapter 182. There are currently 212 chapters.

I also read new chapters for The Unseen Hunt, Enough, Queen of the Seas and Rising Dragon, Hidden Hammers. There were also several new chapters for stories I haven’t mentioned yet. One of these stories is ‘White’ by Melkor’s Mercy. It’s a Bleach story where Ichigo is eaten by the hollow from the first chapter because Rukia wasn’t in the human world yet. He takes over the hollow and starts changing things in Hueco Mundo. The story can be found here – https://www.fanfiction.net/s/11021904/1/White.

The next one is ‘Under the Sea’ by ginnyrules27. It’s a Harry Potter and “Little Mermaid” crossover. I’d describe the Little Mermaid, but if you haven’t seen it… Go See It Right Now! I mean really, it’s a classic and everyone should be able to say they’ve seen it, even if they hate it. It has the Dudley accidentally trying to drown Harry when he was young. He is found by the Ariel (who is the same age) and Triton makes him a merman. After a few years, Harry is found by McGonagall and Snape who transform him back and erase Harry’s and Ariel’s memories of each other. They meet each other in his fourth year. Finally, I started rereading a Slytherin Harry fanfic called ‘Becoming Alpha’ by Miz636. It has Harry going to Slytherin and trying to combine the houses. This is a great story and I love reading it and it’s sequels. This one goes through third year. The overall story is complete and I really recommend it. Today I mostly finished rereading Becoming Alpha, playing Pokemon Sun and did work around the house. I read the new chapters for Rising Dragon, Hidden Hammers, Mauling Snarks and Queen of the Seas. I also read an older fic by sakurademonalchemist (meaning it’s unfinished) called ‘Heart of the Soul.’ It’s a KHR crossover with “Ghost Hunt.” Ghost Hunt is a light novel/anime about a girl named Mai who becomes a part of a paranormal agency who try to help those who are afflicted with those types of problems. It’s good! In the fanfic Mai is a female Tsuna who was run out of the house after her brother erased their mother’s memories of her. This one is also good! The last story I read was ‘By Your Side is Where I Belong’ by TexasBean. It’s a One Piece and Naruto crossover. It has Zoro taking Naruto and Gaara (both 9ish) with him a few years before he would join Luffy. Thus Naruto and Gaara also join the One Piece crew. Can’t Think of a Title

Today, I read the newest Pick Up the Pieces and Rebuild. Things are happening and I can’t wait to see what happens! I read the new chapters of Service with a Smile, and Taylor Varga (an omake not a chapter). I also started rereading Naberius Heir that I mentioned in the last post.

The only new (to y’all) story I read was the newest chapter of ‘Celestial Worm’ by ack1308. It (like all of their stories) is a Worm fic with a crossover with a new novel series called Celestial Wars that the author helped its author (Karen Buckridge) develop. I haven’t read it, but I will eventually (most likely) read it. The fic is about an OC from the named book series who comes to the Worm Verse at some point in time (I think before the start of it because it sounds like from Danny [Taylor hasn’t shown up in the fic yet] that Taylor’s still living with him). She has lots of powers (from being celestial I assume) and helps Danny out. It’s only to chapter 3 but it looks interesting. Since I don’t have much for today, I’ll talk about the “Power Rangers” series. Yeah, I was a huge fan of the original series when I was young. I think I stopped watching sometime during Turbo. I now know that there were many problems with the actors (including low pay and bullying of the gay member of the cast [since I mentioned it, I will say I have nothing against LBGT people. I am not one, but I respect their right to like/love who they want to and I find that the background people and directors almost lead him to suicide to be despicable.]). I’m still glad the actors/actresses brought joy to those of us who watched them.

That being said, if you didn’t know, the Power Rangers series is basically a rip-off of the Japanese series “Super Sentai”. The ranger suits are from a respective Sentai series. Some of the scenes in the suits (mostly with the monsters) and all the Zord scenes are ripped-off directly from their Super Sentai counterpart and dubbed over. In fact, the ‘White’ ranger wasn’t in the Sentai series with the others from the original Power Rangers. This is why they changed Zords around the time he showed up. As far as I know this hasn’t changed into the (how many different Power Ranger series are there now anyway?) present. I know they’re at least still using same suits.

The movies however were made based on anything else (maybe not the second one, don’t know). This explains why they had another ‘origin’ for the Power Ranger ‘ninja’ powers after the first movie in the series (and why the Zords and suits look different).

One last thing, Tommy Oliver has had the most ‘color’ changes of any other character. Green and White in the original series, Red in Zeo and Turbo and Black in Dino Thunder. Also cameos in Wild Force, S.P.D, Super Megaforce and Super Ninja Steel. Did you know that in real life his actor, Jason David Frank, is an undefeated professional mixed martial artist with his own gym and his own martial art called ‘Toso Kune Do”? He’s even in the World Karate Union Hall of Fame. He made quite a life for himself, that’s for sure.

Anyway after that longer than expect rant (that didn’t even talk about what the Power Rangers is even about. Whatever, look it up if you don’t know), there’s nothing else for today. Look down for tomorrow.

There were quite a few new chapters that came out today: Pick Up the Piece and Rebuild (of course), Cambion, Worm: More Than Meets The Eye, Heroes Assemble!, GATE: Thus the Chosen One Fought There, A Worthless Quirk, Go Away I’m Watching Porn and an interlude for Mauling Snarks. And those are just the ones that I’ve mentioned before! Also I finished rereading Naberius Heir.

A new chapter for the story called ‘Readin Jaune Ryu-Long:Dragon contractor’ by dirtrevor. It is a reading story for the RWBY story with the same name (without the ‘reading’) by azdrgn (the author I’m betaing for, I got a new chapter for History’s Strongest Disciple Again? I’m gonna edit soon. He doesn’t put it up until later so I take my time reading it first before I edit it to get its flow). I’m sure I’ll talk about that one later, so I’ll leaving talking about it until then. It has RWBY, JNPR, and some of the teachers reading it. The author (who’s in the story) gives them the items and powers they get in the story they’re reading. The next new chapter was this week’s story update for Seerking called ‘Naruto: The Game of Life’. It’s a Naruto and The Gamer crossover with Naruto getting the Gamer power right before his last year of the academy. The last new chapter was for the story ‘A Crushing Revolution’ by Lunar-L. It’s a Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug and Cat Noir story that has Adrian learning that Marinette has a crush on him (from her alter ego no less). I also started reading the newest story from sakurademonalchemist (again, not finishing any of their other fics) called ‘Queen of the Seas’.   It’s a crossover between Katekyoshi Hitman Reborn and One Piece. Essentially, KHR characters have been reborn (lol) as One Piece characters (including a female Luffy because Tsuna was a female in their past life). Xanxus is Ace, Dino is Sabo and those are the only characters we’ve meet that’ve been reborn (I like saying that don’t I?). There are only two chapters so far, but it looks interesting. I realized that I haven’t given y’all an update on my Celebi quest on PoGo in a while. I’m up to 30/40 of grass and psychic types on the last quest. Tomorrow I should be able to finish it with the psychic types being more available starting tomorrow afternoon (which is totally not a way to try and get trainers to get to this quest to make it easier).

In other news, I was sadly wrong and Pick Up the Pieces and Rebuild is not done and today was the last update until they finish it. It was a great ending to the (I assume) halfway point, so I guess I can wait. Don’t know when that will be though.   The only new chapters were from GATE: Thus the Chosen One Fought There and Queen of the Seas.

Anyway, I started rereading one of sakurademonalchemist’s stories, ‘Mists of a Dawning Sky.’ It’s a KHR and Harry Potter crossover where Harry is female and becomes Viper after the war. I also reread two connected stories by White Angel of Auralon called ‘Screw Them!’ and ‘We’re Screwed’. In Screw Them, Harry leaves Hogwarts after a much worse aftermath to the school learning he’s a parselmouth. His leaving changes many things and leads to him helping the ‘muggle’ government in taking down Voldie and his Death Eaters along with starting a new school to help teach ‘muggleborns’. We’re Screwed is about the Wizarding World finding out about the new school and the shit storm brought on them by the Queen and the British Government. Finally I started rereading a story called ‘Legion’ by NeverTooOld. It’s a Worm fic where Taylor has a much worse experience in the ‘Locker’ and eventually has to be healed extensively by Amy (Panacea). This leads to their friendship and more (Yes, it is a lesbian Skitter/Panacea fic. Don’t like, don’t read). Many things change. Sadly I don’t know if the author is writing anymore (or even with us anymore, I remember reading about some hospital visits [praying for you NeverTooOld] and he hasn’t responded to comments since January). New Story in a Series!

Today I didn’t read much because of the previously mentioned interview. It took up most of the morning (mostly getting there and back). I thought it went well, but I I’ll find out when I hear back from them if I got the job.

I finished off The Dark Phoenix of Konoha and read the update of Mauling Snarks. Other than that there was an update for another fic I’ve read ‘The Goblet of Fire’s Trap’ by kopakanuvafan20. It’s a crossover between Harry Potter and Negima! Magister Negi Magi.

Negima! Magister Negi Magi (hereafter just called Negima) is about 9 year old Negi Springfield who just graduated from a magic school in Wales and is given his assignment to prove he can be a Magister (The highest rank of mage). This assignment is to teach English at a Japanese All-Girls Middle school. Oh, and he can’t reveal that he has magic or he’ll be turned into an ermine (if you don’t know what that is, just look it up). When he’s a younger teacher to a class of 31 curious young girls, that’s not gonna be easy.

So it’s been a while since I read this one and I’m not going to lie, the writing style is not that great and the story kinda jumps around. Essentially, Harry learn how to become a phoenix animagus after the Chamber of Secrets, goes to learn how to be a Jedi (for like a few paragraphs) then ends up going to Mahora (the school in Negima) and metamorphs into a girl (Roselyn Evans) and goes to school there until he is pulled to England for the Triwizard Tournament. I’m not that interested in it anymore because of the writing style. I read and watched a few new stories today so be prepared! The first was a story by White Angel of Auralon called ‘Enough’. It’s a Harry Potter story where Harry knows that Dumbledore and his ‘friends’ don’t have his best interests at heart and trains himself to take his NEWTs right after his OWLs. He deviates from the story by going to a summer camp after fourth year (and Dudley and his gang get kissed because Harry’s not there). I also read a two-part story by the same author called ‘Bolt Fashion’. In it Harry is more practical and works to gain more money from before he goes to Hogwarts. He decides to start his own Fashion line and does so his fifth year. Voldie and his minions get taken out by almost accident. I reread Petrification Proliferation, read more of Honestly Harry – The Year of the Rock and read the new chapters of An Essence of Sliver and Steel, Relic of the Future and How Eating a Strange Fruit Gave Me My Quirk.

The next fic I reread is called ‘Aura Shinobi’ by guardsmansparky. It’s a Naruto and Pokemon crossover where Arceus saves Naruto when he tries to Summon without a contract at a young age. He sends Naruto back, but sends Lucario to train him and makes a Pokemon summoning contract for him. The next is a Sailor Moon story called ‘Unexpected Restart’ by Serena530. It has Serena (Usagi’s name in the english dub) wishing to restart from when she meet Darien after he dies/is captured (she doesn’t know) after the rest of her team doesn’t really care what happened to him. Her Silver Crystal grants her wish and she changes how everything happens to make it better. I like it and I’ve read other stories by this author that are good, so I recommend it. The last new story I read today is called ‘Underneath the Underneath’ by FlamexFullmetal.   It’s a Naruto story with a nice Kyuubi who helps him become stronger. The last thing I did today was watch the first 3 episodes of the new anime called “Hyakuren no Haou to Seiyaku no Valkyria” or “The Master of Ragnarok & Blesser of Einherjar” in English. It’s a story about Yuto Suoh who takes a phone photo of himself in front of a ancient mirror that transports him to a different time where he becomes the leader of a warrior society. He wants to go back, if only to see his childhood friend that he can communicate with on his phone if he’s near his version of the mirror. This is his story.

Lastly, Umei no Mei updated Pick up the Pieces and Move On to say that starting Monday and until Friday she will post a chapter to the sequel to it (and the last on in the series) once a day. I’m looking forward to it! It’ll be on the Monday post I assume!

Today I started rereading Ripples, I got to chapter 50, but that’s not all I read today. I read the new chapters of The Unseen Hunt and Stand Together and Smile. I also read some chapters for stories I haven’t mentioned yet.

The first is called ‘SAO: The Eroge’ by SaintInfernalNeos. It’s a Sword Art Online fic where Kirito gets the power of an eroge protagonist a little before the SAO incident. This means that girls fall in love with him and he can raise their interest points toward him. This causes massive changes this in the SAO universe. The other update was from ‘Naberius Heir’ by Liam G. This author writes good stories, but none of them have finished. This one is the longest at 24 chapters (the chapters are fairly long though). This one is a Bleach and High School DxD crossover. It has Ichigo having his memories suppressed to save him from the council after the Winter War because his last linage wakes up (hint he’s from devil decent). His Great-Grandfather takes him in and has Rias (pre-story) take care of him. No one from Bleach really knows where he is, though they want to know. See how things turn out. Other than that I watched some Youtube videos explaining some of the things that went into Homestuck. Like it being an origin story. I can post the links to them if anyone is actually interested.

Monday

Well, first I finished off Ripples. I also read the new chapters for SeerKing’s Asylum for Plot Bunnies that Won’t Stop Bugging Me, Mauling Snarks and I, Panacea. I read the other only Fairy Tail that the real narina has ‘Dreams of Dragons’. It has Acnologia helping Mavis found Fairy Tail (though things still happen with Zeref) and staying on to help it along. The only other story I read was the one I was looking forward to, ‘Pick up the Pieces and Rebuild’ by Umei no Mei. It’s a good start where Xanxus starts setting things up leave the failing Vongola behind while saving what he can. Really looking forward to the rest of the chapters coming out this week! Seeing as I have not read anything else, I’ll talk about “Fruits Basket.” It’s a manga by Natsuki Takaya about a girl named Tohru Honda. She’s a high school student who attempts to live in a tent after her mother dies. She is found out and ends up living with a few members of the Sohma family, only to learn that they and several other of their family members are cursed (it’s a reoccurring one in the family) to turn into the animals of the Zodiac and the cat. This happens when they are weak or a member of the opposite sex hugs them. Follow her as she meets all of them and tries to help them while learning about herself and even falling in love.

They made an anime for it and while it starts off okay; they just kind of have a tacked on ending for it. I would love to have a reboot of it (like Fullmetal Alchemist), I don’t think it will happen. I hope you look it up!

A Normal Three Days

Tuesday

Today I spent a lot of time with Coeur Al’Aran’s fanfictions. I fully reread a previously mentioned fic, ‘Relic of the Future’ because I hadn’t been keeping up with the story and wanted to catch up. I also read the first chapter of their new story ‘The Unseen Hunt’. It’s a RWBY story set in the real world that deals with the supernatural. Like most of their fics it’s based around Jaune. I also started reading another of their fics I haven’t read before, ‘Not this time, Fate.’ It’s finished and deals with a Jaune that is tired of the repeat that happens every time he dies during the attack on Vale. I read a few more chapters of Honestly Harry – Getting to Hogwarts and read new chapters for Warlock, GATE: Thus the Chosen One Fought There and The Healing Touch. I also got an update for a fic I haven’t mentioned yet.

It’s called ‘Ripples’ by the real narnia. This is a sort of self-insert into the “Fairy Tail” universe. Fairy Tail is a manga/anime that is set in a world where magic is a normal part of life. It follows the story of the magic guild called Fairy Tail and their adventures. The main characters are Lucy (who can summon spirits, including ones based off the Zodiac), Natsu (whose a dragon slayer and is trying to find his the dragon who raised him), Happy (a talking blue cat with wings), Erza (a mage who equips swords and armor) and Gray (an Ice mage who can’t keep his cloths on).

In Ripples, the self-insert Ella, is sent to the Fairy Tail world after dying. She is young and has a new type of magic. She joins up long before most of the characters do and does her best to change things for the better. But her changes cause ripples (ah, see what she did there) and many things change, both good and bad. I really liked this fic and am glad it is continuing. Wednesday

As usual, I’ll start off with Seerking’s updated story that I mentioned last post, Uzumaki Naruko: To the Victor, the Spoils V2. It starts off after the Mizuki graduation incident and has a female Naruto – Naruko (which is often the name of his female transformed shadow clones if they’re around long enough). She has lived a similar, but different life and it shows in her friends and actions. See how these changes affect things. It’s version two because the first version was taken off because of the mature scenes. Said scenes are now on another website. I finished off Not this time, Fate and read more of Honestly Harry – Getting to Hogwarts. There were also new chapters for GATE: Thus The Chosen One Fought There (it’s been updating daily for the last week or so) and Heroes Assemble!

There were also updates from two stories I haven’t mentioned yet. The first fic I read is called ‘A Worthless Quirk’ by TitaniumDragon22. It has Izuku getting his mother’s quirk of attraction of small objects. He uses this to try and become a great hero. The second fic is called ‘Worm: More Than Meets the Eye’ by Zero-metallix. It’s a Worm and Transformers crossover. The actual Transformers aren’t really in it, but they do make their own power ‘shard’ and Taylor triggers with it making her able to create at least the smaller transformers. Many things change and it makes it a completely different story. It is now on it’s 108th chapter. I also started rereading a fic called ‘Dark Phoenix of Konoha’ by White Angel of Auralon. It’s a Naruto story that has Naruto hiding his abilities until he graduates. He’s still hiding more of his abilities, but goes under a disguise he calls Dark Phoenix to protect himself. Thursday

Figure I would say this first, I got a call to come in for a job interview tomorrow! Wish me luck! I also bought my ticket for the new Pokemon movie coming to theaters in the US in late November/early December. It’s called The Power of Us and I’m looking forward to it!

Moving on to the things I’ve read, I finished Honestly Harry – Getting to Hogwarts and have moved onto the second fic in the series, ‘Honestly Harry – The Year of the Rock.’ It tells the story of the first year at Hogwarts for Harry, Ginny, Hermione and their friends and family. The new story I read today is called ‘OverGamer’ by SaintInfernalNeos. It is a crossover between Sword Art Online and the Overlord games. To be honest, I don’t know much about the games. The story has Kazuto running away after he learns he’s adopted and accidentally learning he’s the descendent of the Overlord and is forced to train to become one himself. I looked through a few of Fanfiction.net’s Homestuck fics, but nothing popped out at me. The only update for a story was of course, GATE: Thus the Chosen One Fought There.

Weekend of Stories (and Homestuck)

Friday

So, I’ve reached somewhere in Act 6: Act 2 of Homestuck (there are apparently 6 Acts in Act 6, go figure).   I’m on page 4929. And we have more new characters! Like 12 new troll characters (if I’m reading into this correctly, though I don’t know how many are actually important at this point) and two unknowns. Moving on from the weird story I can’t stop reading; I did read other things!

I read the new chapter of Mauling Snarks. The story I’m betaing for, History’s Strongest Disciple Again?, put the newest chapter out today. I finished rereading No Need for Harry and read some more of The Accidental Animagus. I read the newest chapter of Parva Sub Ingenti by Quatermass and learned of their new one, which I read.

It’s called ‘GATE: Thus the Chosen One Fought There,’ and it’s a GATE and Star Wars Crossover. Essentially, Anakin crash lands on the world on the other side of the Gate around the beginning of the story (not too long before Episode II for him). azndrgn, the author I beta for, also updated another one of his stories – ‘Mending the Knots.’ Which is another RWBY one where Jaune doesn’t get into Beacon and starts a business. He also started a new story called, ‘How Eating a Strange Fruit Gave Me My Quirk.’ It’s a My Hero Academia story with a very slight One Piece (I’ll talk about One Piece eventually) crossover. Izuku (the main character who’s Hero name is Deku) gets Luffy’s powers (the upsides and the downsides) after being forcefed a strange fruit. Watch how this changes things. Lastly, but not leastly (I’m aware it’s not a word, but I wanted it to be that way), I started rereading the first story in the ‘Honestly Harry’ series by Captain Compass. It’s called ‘Honestly Harry – Getting to Hogwarts.’ It has Hagrid taking Harry to Hogwarts instead of staying in the hut when he tells him he’s a wizard. Many things change because of this. This is a soul bond story and is up to seventh story and the fourth year (seventh because before first year, after second year and after third year have their own stories). Getting to Hogwarts has 80 chapters (they aren’t that long though). None of the others have that many chapters, but the chapters get longer. It’s a good story, but not a frequent updater. I was able to walk for PoGo today and was able to hatch both a Kangaskhan and a Mr. Mime. YAY! Thus my Gen 1 Pokédex was finished. I’m still working on the Celebi Quests (the 7 day thing doesn’t finish until Monday), but other than the one that hasn’t been released I have all of Gen 2 as well. Just missing the regionals for Gen 3 (along with the unreleased ones). It’s community day tomorrow for the Chikorita shiny, hope that goes well! See you tomorrow, right below this!

Saturday

Sigh. Today was both good and bad. So, I don’t think I’ve mentioned that I have a dog. She’s a longhaired Chihuahua. I love her a lot, but she doesn’t like storms at all. It was just my luck that it stormed heavily last night. She stays in my room at night and insisted on waking me up periodically to comfort her. I gave up on going back to sleep at 6, but then the storm ended. I’ve been a bit tired all day though.

Moving on, GATE: Thus the Chosen One Fought There and Plenipotent Player Prince put out new chapters today and I read some more Honestly Harry – Getting to Hogwarts. I also got an update for a reading story by yukicrewger called ‘Reading Chronicles Book 1: To The Victor, the Spoils.’ It has Naruto characters reading the fanfiction ‘Uzumaki Naruko: To the Victor, the Spoils’ by Seerking. It’s the one that will be updated this coming Wednesday, so I’ll talk about it then. It’s amusing, but more complicated that I think it should be (the reading story not the original). I watched some episodes of Skyward Wing playing Kingdom Hearts – Re:Coded and read some more of Ginny Returns. I was out for all three hours of the PoGo community day and got 9 shinnies. There was also this thing with an unknown Pokémon after the event that turned mostly into dittos after they were caught (I got a few ones that were chikoritas). I think it was teaser for the new Pokémon that’s going to be able to be gifted to PoGo from the Let’s Go games.

I’ve gotten to page 5263 of Homestuck. I’m on Act 6 Intermission 3, so far intermissions two and three are mini-games that I’ve watched someone else play instead of doing it myself. They mostly deal with introducing said 12 new trolls I mentioned yesterday and their history. To be honest, I think my projection that they would mostly be minor characters is mostly likely true.

Sunday

Today was a very one story intensive one. I read some more of Honestly Harry – Getting to Hogwarts and Ginny Returns, but it was mostly Homestuck. After another intermission or two like the previous ones, the story finally got to when all the main characters are together. Only for the situation to go to crap in several ways and then for another character to go off the rails to fix it (which where I am now). I got to page 6553. I’m not sure how long it will take for me to finish it, but things are very interesting now and there are more short pages. I’m thinking of doing something with the information I’ve gotten from this story when I finish it, but don’t know what it will be.

In the absence of other reading material, I figure I should talk about One Piece. One Piece is the story about Luffy D. Monkey (in the English style). He wants to become King of the Pirates by finding One Piece where the former King left his treasure.

Luffy has become a rubber man (meaning his body is made of rubber) because he ate a Devil Fruit. Those who eat one get powers, but can never swim again and being in water depowers them. The story starts as he begins his journey to find a crew (and an actual boat). There are over 850 episodes out in Japan and the manga is still going. The English version, isn’t that good (at least at the beginning, didn’t watch much after that) and the dubbed song sucked.

Monday

SO! I finished Homestuck! All 8130 freaking pages. The main bit of the final fights was a 17ish min video. I think I learned something from this, but I can’t honestly tell you what that is yet. It’s freeing, but also a bit sad to be finished. There were some unanswered questions, but nothing that was too bad and a bit of mystery to an ending is never a bad thing.

I went back to my old posts to see when I started reading Homestuck and it was Tuesday the 4th of this month. Today is the 24th, so I read it in 20 days. That might as well be mostly like 14 days because I don’t think I read it much for the first week after I found it. Wow, that’s a lot even for me, especially these last few days. I would not suggest this story unless you plan to only read it sporadically or have a lot of time (and patience). There are at least 50 characters you have to pay attention to by the end (including dead copies from other timelines) and there is a lot of time ‘shenanigans’ as they call it. That’s not including the author deciding to have his own moment in the story with his own side story (including weird things dealing with the fourth wall being an actual wall [or window]?).

But enough about that, I read more of Honestly Harry – Getting to Hogwarts and finished Ginny’s Return. I read the new chapters for: It Gets Worse, Warlock, Cambion, GATE: Thus the Chosen One Fought There and Mauling Snarks. I also reread two one-shots by kb0.

The first is called ‘Who Did It?’ It has Harry refusing that he should be in the tournament and working to solve who put him in it. The second one is called “Hogwarts Protection System.” In it Hogwarts has a protection system and it activates when too many things threatening students come into the school on the night of Harry’s sorting. The Aurors are called (by the Sorting Hat), many things come out and several problems are solved or at least the process is started. I also finished the sixth set of quests for the Celebi quest. I finished two of the seventh set, the Gold Gen 2 medal and the excellent curve ball. I only got one grass for the 40 grass or psychic type Pokémon, which sucks. Hope I finish it soon (wish I had this one during the community day).

Over a Month Active!

Tuesday

Today, I looked it up and found that this blog has been going for over a month (the 16th was when it was a month). Yay! I read some more of Ginny Returns, read new chapters for Elemental Sky (by sakurademonalchemist for those who don’t remember) and Seerking’s Asylum for Plot Bunnies that Won’t Stop Bugging Me and started rereading Stand Together and Smile. I also read some more of Homestuck and got to page 2793. That story just keeps getting weirder; I suspect it will get worse since it’s only somewhat over a quarter done.

Moving on, I read a few new stories (fairly short ones). The first one was ‘Naruto: Rise of the Emperor Revised’ by Snafu the Great. It’s based on one of the fairly common storylines from Naruto fanfiction: Naruto gets banished after the Sasuke Retrevial Mission (whether he’s successful or not) and either goes alone or with someone/somepeople to the ‘West’ which the elemental nations stay away from because they are always at war. Naruto eventually becomes Emperor (everything before this usually happens before the story) and Konoha eventually comes to him for help. How things are handled are different per writer. The second one is unfinished and I don’t know if it will be finished. It’s called ‘Ranma ½: Consequences’ by the same author. It’s about the consequences of things going wrong after the story. I didn’t like this one much because: it hasn’t been updated since 2015, is only 4 chapters so far and I don’t think its well written. It’s a ‘bashing’ fic (meaning bad things about certain characters are aired frequently) for the Tendo Family, Genma and most of the other characters. The last two are from the author White Squirrel. The first ‘Justice, Justice Shall You Pursue’ is a Harry Potter fic that has the Goblins arresting the Dursleys in the fifth year. The Dursleys call for the Lord High Chancellor of Britian to represent him and it leads to muggle government having more to do with events in the wizarding world. The last new story is I think finished, but it has a ending that allow the reader to fill in the blanks. It’s called ‘Petrification Proliferation’ and is another Harry Potter fic. It’s about what would happen if there was a procedure in the wizarding world for if a basilisk is found. It is enacted as soon as Harry tells Dumbledore and the Weasleys about it. Wednesday

Not much new today and it was rainy, so I didn’t do any walking today :(. There were new chapters for Taylor Varga and Reincarnation Roulette. I also reached page 3975 on Homestuck today. That may seem like a large jump, but there were a lot of short pages. Also, shit is going down, people and trolls are dying and there’s going to be a world reset coming up. Yeah, and we’re only almost halfway done. (side note, if you have trouble keeping up with multiple characters & or timelines, this is not the story for you, Trust Me). On another note, I read a chapter or two of Pick up the Pieces (and Take Stock). I mentioned it a while ago, because I was reading its sequel. I like it a lot because it’s about a non-main (but important) character dealing with the shit the main character (and others) did in the aftermath of the story.

Seerking’s new updated story this week is called ‘Pain and Hatred: A Stray Devil’s Tale’ and is a Highschool DxD story. It’s about a powerful stray (meaning they betrayed the devil who turned them into one from whatever their original species was) devil who needs Issei’s gear for something. This person is seen as a bad person, but not all is as it seems. You need to know quite a bit about the original story to really understand what is going on. I’ll take this time to talk about the Gundam series. There are several Gundam continuities, but the first series was called “Mobile Suit Gundam”. Gundams are ‘mobile suits’ (which are a large human shaped robot used in battle) made out of Gundanium. They are typically used as the turning point in a war of some kind (quite often between space colonies and Earth). The previously mentioned series has many sequels in its continuity the Universal Century. There are a few other continuities, but the ones to watch are Gundam 00, Gundam SEED, G Gundam, Gundam Wing and the newest (but one of the best) Gundam: Iron Blooded Orphans. It may seem like a lot, but they’re worth watching. Also, there are a few really good Gundam video games that crossover between the continuities.

Thursday

It was rainy again today (though more so), so again no more walking <_>. I’m now up to chapter 4463 of Homestuck (finally over the middle mark). Yeah, so now we’re being introduced to some new old characters (I’m not even gonna try and explain this one. Read if you really want to know). Read some more from Pick up the Pieces (and Take Stock), but what I was really excited about was that From Fake Dreams got a new chapter! I was ecstatic that one came out (especially so soon after I reread it). The trial is almost over and the next thing is lurking in the background.

Other than I’m rereading a story called ‘No Need for Harry’ by Pheonix Dawn. I’m waiting (without much hope) for them to continue another story that I’ll talk about later. This one is a Harry Potter and Tenchi Muyo crossover. Tenchi Muyo is an anime about the character who it’s named after and his adventures with the females and family that he discovers (that are from outer space). In the story, Harry uses a power in the graveyard that only Tenchi could use. The characters from TM discover this and go and get him from his relatives. Que massive changes. The new story I started reading is called, ‘The Accidental Animagus’ by White Squirrel. It uses a common fanfiction tropes of Harry turning into a cat and escaping the Dursleys, along with the Granger’s adopting him. Haven’t gotten far into the story, but at least Dumbledore doesn’t seem like a bad guy in this one (and only slightly misguided).
