Hello readers, it’s been another week. I’ve been playing Pokémon: Legends Z-A since Wednesday night, but I’ll talk about that later. I took Thursday and Friday off to play, so I only worked Monday thru Wednesday. It was a normal week, except that Monday was raining and we had so many leaks that we spent most of the day moving items, checking shipments and dealing with the aftermath.
The two days off were repurposed holiday days so it wasn’t a big deal taking them off. I even still have another day to take at some point. Pokémon: Legends Z-A has been interesting. I’ve finished the main game and am now doing the after story. I haven’t gotten Zygarde yet, but I do have Xernas and Yvetal. My pokédex is at 202 of 230, so only 24 left. It’s mostly evolutions and that includes most of the trade evolutions and the eeveelutions. I also still need to go around the city and get more mega shards to get more Mega Stones, I have all the paid ones.

So, the story was fine to me. I like that they deal with AZ and finishing his storyline. They let you know the aftermath of X and Y and what happened to the Team Flare remnants. I also liked that there wasn’t really a ‘bad guy’ or evil organization, just dealing with consequences of not cleaning up after ourselves. There were characters who were hard to deal with, but they all stepped up to help at the end.
The battle system is meh. It’s not bad, but it’s hard with platforming to send attacks sometimes. Especially in cramped spaces during the Z-A Battle Royal. I also don’t like the fact that you only get the chance for one ball to catch after you knock them out. Like if they Pokémon you want wanders in while you’re battling an Alpha and you knock it out, you have to give up a second to throw one ball, then bail or finish the battle. At least in Arceus, the battle was limited to one on one once you started the battle.
The Mega battles were interesting, but took skill and timing. Most of the new Mega Evolutions I’ve seen are fine, but I agree that Mega Starmie is creepy. I’m also glad that the missing Pokémon are finally in the game and I can eventually add them to my Living Dex, especially the Furfrou forms (that I don’t have in game as I was focusing on finishing the pokédex first) as they didn’t keep when I transferred all of the Living Dex to the Switch.

I’ll talk about what I’m listening to next time because I want to finish and work a bit more on the dex. So onto the quest, first is Carpentry by LegendDairy. It’s a Harry Potter three-shot. In it, the Weasley’s never went to Hogwarts and start a renovation business. Harry and Ginny meet when they’re brought in to work on Grimwald Place, sparks fly.
Second is, Castielle by sakurademonalchemist. It’s a Supernational fic that I’ve talked about before here. In the future that Dean is sent to where Lucifer has taken over Sam, it is done for. Chuck sends Castiel back in a female body to help stop that future. It’s 6 chapters and imcomplete, but still interesting.
Third is, Caught by Epeefencer. It’s a Harry Potter one-shot. Harry and Ginny got back together after the war, but no one noticed. So, they made it a game. Finally, some has noticed and they can take the next step, marriage. [Content Warning] There is a slight sex scene and it’s labelled M for a reason. [Content Warning] It’s a fun little story.
Fourth is Centrifugal Force by Melindaleo. It’s another Harry Potter one-shot. The trio and Ginny go to a Carnival and have fun. Harry and Ginny get closer and Ginny knows they’ll get together eventually. It’s a cute story.
Fifth and Final is Champion by White Angel of Auralon. It’s a smart Harry Potter story. Harry gets good grades, screw the Dursleys and responds to his Hogwarts letter asking for more information. This leads to a different experience. This one is complete and there is a sequel.
I’ll do more next time. I hope everyone who’s playing Z-A is having fun. May Your Heart Be Your Guiding Key!
