Captain Marvel and the Quest (with Some D.N.Angel info)

Hello those few of you who read my blog! It’s been another week of work and as I promised here’s my thoughts on Captain Marvel.

Spoilers Start

So, it was a good movie. We didn’t know for a long time that Carol had been taken against her will by the Kree and that her power was from absorbing the power from the Tesseract engine, not something the Kree gave her. The fact that the Kree were the bad guys doesn’t surprise me, however the fact the Skrull were not did. Are we not going to have a Skrull invasion for the next saga, because that’s what I was honestly expecting? Since we know there will be more Marvel movies, I don’t know where they’re going to go from here. Guess we’ll find out with Avengers: Endgame. (Though maybe more with the Kree since they say they want Captain Marvel, or at least Ronan the Accuser did [which is actually a title, if you didn’t know])

Now onto Fury, he’s amusing in this, especially with Goose the cat. Which is actually a Flerken, an alien with mouth tentacles that eats bad guys (and the Tesseract). The most amusing thing is that Goose is the reason Fury looses an eye. Now as for why Captain Marvel hasn’t been in any of the other movies and Fury didn’t call her. It’s because she was helping the Skrull find a new home and Fury only wanted to call her if something was really wrong. Her flight name on her plane in a picture is the reason why Fury named The Avenger Initiative as it’s named.

So I’ve finished Honestly Harry and the Founders Chambers (yeah, I mostly skimmed it. It’s my least favorite of the Honest Harry fics (mostly cause of Ginny, not that she’s bad, just how she’s not really in it). The new chapters this week are: The Dragon’s Knight (Wed, Thurs, Fri), Flameheart (Wed, Thurs, Fri), Melody of Fire (Wed & Thurs), Worm – Waterworks (2 chaps, one’s an interlude), Heroes Assemble! (Now on chapter 100), Celestial Worm, Deku: The Telekinetic Hero, Titanfall & Mauling Snarks.

Before we get to my quest, I also read more Honestly Harry stories. First is a 2^nd year Christmas side story called A Very Granger Christmas, where the Honestly Harry universe starts into M territory. Yes, they’re young, but they’re honestly older mentally and the bond is pushing them. They don’t ‘do the deed,’ but they explore. Not bad, but I only skimmed this one as well.

Back to the main story, I started reading the next in the series with is the story of the summer before third year called, Honestly Harry – The Unplottable Discoveries. I like this one better than either of the 2^nd year fic, but it continues the M situations (and it will continue like this through the most recent story). Watch as Harry and his bondmates deal with the outcome of their 2^nd year and prepare for their 3^rd year at Hogwarts.

Back to the quest, the first story this time is, Darkened Wizards. It’s a Harry Potter and D N Angel crossover, with some Naruto at the end. Turns out Emiko Niwa (Daisuke’s mom) is Lily’s twin sister and Petunia remembers her after second year. Sending Harry to her for the summer changes things and a changed Harry and Daisuke come to Hogwarts for their third year. How will Harry’s inclusion into the Niwa family change things? And who’s that with Hiwatari? Unless otherwise stated, all fics from now on are unfinished and last updated in 2012.

Second is A Twist in Fate, a Sailor Moon and Naruto crossover. When Usagi is young, a break in at their home has the Tsukino family moving to Konoha. Usagi trains to become a ninja and befriends Itachi. How will this affect her fate as Sailor Moon and what will happen with Mamoru?

Third is Nozomi of the Sand, a Harry Potter and Naruto crossover. Fem Harry goes with the Dursleys to Suna and befriends Gaara and Temari. Later, looking to escape the wizarding world, she joins the village as a civilian contractor. Watch how her presence changes things.

Following that is a two-chapter story called Let’s Play a Game. It’s a Fullmetal Alchemist and Sailor Moon crossover where Ed and Al are sent to the Sailor Moon Universe by Truth’s sister (AKA the author). Ed is turned into a girl and Al is a cat, will they be able to ship up to Scouts, or will they never get home? Will we ever find out? I honestly doubt it.

Then there’s Aburame Lightning, a Harry Potter and Naruto crossover that actually reaches 19 chapters. It has baby Harry being dropped off in front of the Aburame compound and adopted by the Head. Given bugs, he becomes the Heir and eventually befriends Naruto. How will the wizarding world deal with an heir that controls bugs?

Loki Black is next and it’s a purely Harry Potter story. Sirius wakes up the summer before Harry’s first year after falling through the veil. He’s Harry’ age and decides to join Hogwarts as his own son in order to help Harry. A good four chapters, but would ask for more.

After that is Dark Mage of the Zodiac, a Fairy Tail and Harry Potter crossover, with a nod to Fruits Basket. Harry almost dies, but is sent to Fiore by his magic to save him. He’s found by Zeref, who gives him the ‘Dark’ Zodiac Keys. He joins early on and is a prominent member when Lucy joins. The animal forms from Fruits Basket are the ‘Dark’ Zodiac members.

That’s all I’ll talk about for the quest, but I learned that after 8 years that the author of D.N.Angel is finally finishing the story. They’ve published quite a few chapters now, but I could only really find the first of the newest one’s translated online (which also led me to remember that only the first 13 volumes have been published in America). It’s Another Post with Mostly sakurademonalchemist Stories

Hi everyone, I’m on time this post! It was a short week, but I was kept busy with my job. I’ve started rereading Mauling Snarks and finished A Distant Storm, but other than that I haven’t really read something I’ve already talked about. The new chapters this week are: Naruto: The Game of Life, Heroes Assemble!, Hive Daughter, Taylor Varga (Omake Continued), Ashes to Flame (finishing it), Breaking the Gilded Cage, Angels and Demons and Mauling Snarks.

Moving on, I’m gonna continue with what I read by sakurademonalchemist. The first one I reread was Messenger of Hope. It’s a Naruto and Sonic the Hedgehog crossover. Sonic the Hedgehog is a game and cartoon about a very fast blue hedgehog that goes against Dr. Robotnik.

In the fic, Sonic and his friends are summons that fem. Naruto gets before she graduates the academy. She starts up a messenger service under another name and when she doesn’t graduate, makes it her fulltime job. Watch her and the Sonic crew change things, including the Akatsuki. It hasn’t been updated since 2015.

Second I reread was Gorgon, a Harry Potter and Fate/Unlimited Blade Works crossover. It has Illya waking up in Diagon Alley years in the past after being killed in UBW. She discovers it is when Harry Potter starts Hogwarts and goes with him to make his life better. Watch as she changes his and her lives to make them better. Also not updated since 2015.

Then came the ones I read for the first time. First one was Iced Darkness, a Harry Potter and Rise of the Guardians crossover. Rise of the Guardians is a movie about Jack Frost, a spirit who is chosen to join spirits like Santa Claus and Easter Bunny in the Guardians. However, Pitch wants to drag them all into the blackness. Who will win?

The fic has fem Harry becoming the dark version of Jack’s powers after her owl is killed and nothing is done about it. She and Jack are eventually told to join the Guardians, but Pitch has his own plans, including one that led fem Harry to where she is. Last updated in 2014.

Second is Golden Queen, a Fate/Stay Night and Harry Potter crossover. It has an under ten fem. Harry being assalted by a man in Japan and accidentally summoning a Saber version of Gilgamesh from the Archer at the church. He deages to Kol Gil and they grow up together under the Magus Killer’s fathering. How will this change things? Same update time as previous one.

Next is The Death God and the Mystic Eyes, which is a Bleach and Tsukihime crossover. Tsukihime is from the Type-Moon Universe. It’s about Shiki Tohno, a boy who, unless he wears special glasses, can see lines on everything that if he traces them, kills them. This ability is called, The Mystic Eyes of Death Perception. He has to deal with Dead Apostles and a True Ancestor that come to his city. Arceuid, the True Ancestor, is after one of the Dad Apostles that keeps reviving himself. In the Visual Novel, like with Fate/Stay Night, you can pursue different girls.

In the fic, Ichigo finds himself with these eyes and wants to change them. He works with Rin (from Fate/Stay Night) and Zelretch to do this. There isn’t much in the Bleach storyline yet, but that time period just started. Again not updated since 2014.

Lastly is one I mentioned about near the beginning of my blog, but didn’t link to or talk about. I reread Memories of Nobody, which is a Kingdom Hearts and Harry Potter crossover. It has Xion, #14 from Organization 13, taking Fem Harry’s place after the killing curse kills Fem Harry to put her and her parents into Kingdom Hearts to be reborn. Watch as Xion goes to Hogwarts and tries to save her fellow Nobodies (that she actually likes). Not updated since 2017.

Finally I reread parts of the fic, Here in My Arms by Platinumsabr. It’s a Rosario + Vampire fic. Rosario + Vampire is a manga turned anime about Tsukine Aono. He is a human boy who’s parents accidentally sign him up for a school for monsters (youkai) called Youkai Academy. He meets a female vampire named Moka who really likes his blood. However, she has an powerful inner personality that only he can free. Watch as he tries to get by while hiding that he’s a human.

In the fic, it’s after the first two years of schooling and Tsukine decides he’s gonna confess to Moka. It doesn’t go well and he chooses to let go of something that he already knew he had already lost, changing everything. It’s a good story with 30 chapters, but unfortunately hasn’t been updated since 2017.

I Got a Job! (YAY!)

Hey everyone, I finally got a job that isn’t temporary! I start on Monday and it’s a 10 hour work day so I may start posting earlier on Monday cause I start at 6 in the morning. I’ll have less time to read, but that doesn’t mean that I’ll stop posting. So look forward to many more posts my readers. I’ve decided that I’m going to create a fanfiction page where you can look through either the author’s name or originating story to find a certain fanfic. I’ll try and implement it this weekend.

This week was again more Taylor Varga while I continue to work through the web novel of That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime and finished rereading Demonic Jewels. No new episodes of the Slime anime yet cause that comes out on Monday. The new chapters for this week are: Flames, Reality Bites Worm, Knight of Betrayal and Taiga Cub, Hive Daughter, Seerking’s Asylum, Campione of the Raging Tides, A Ninja Summoned, Heroes Assemble!, Mauling Snarks (Friday) & Omake(Wednesday), The Gamer, Titanfall, Raptor of the 20^th Ward, Ashes to Flame, Mending the Knots, Breaking the Guilded Cage, Angels and Demons and Taylor Varga Omake (MCU).

In the fanfiction world, I started reading (but haven’t continued cause it couldn’t fully keep my attention) ‘Forged in Hellfire: Lost Soul Reborn’ by RainthelingeringSentiment. It’s a Naruto and Mortal Kombat crossover. Mortal Kombat is an arcade game turned movie and cartoon/anime? I don’t normally pay attention to it, but the fanfic sounded interesting at first. It has Naruto falling in love with Haku on the Wave mission and sacrificing himself to save her from Kakashi’s attack. This awakens the sleeping portion of his soul that was formerly Scorpion’s (Hasashi Hanzo) and they have to merge to stay alive. The resulting personality is a mix of the two and he has to figure out who he is now. It’s a harem fic. The second one in the same situation as the first is ‘Time Traveling Prince’ by Tactition101. It’s a Naruto and Sailor Moon crossover where Naruto is Chibiusa’s older twin brother who was sent to the allied Konoha to learn. He is sent after her to help her when she goes to the past and does his best to help her. It just didn’t catch my interest that day. The only other new stories I read were, of course, more sakurademonalchemist ones! Only four this time though. The first is ‘Lost Name’ and is a crossover between Cardcaptor Sakura and Harry Potter. It has Harry being Eriol from the second series and making his own cards. Clow even gets his own body for a while. The second one is ‘Angels Among Us,’ which is a crossover between Supernatural and Ghost Rider. It has an angel that has been captured in Hell being the power behind the Ghost Rider. When Dean is in Hell, he sees the angel and becomes her vessel to break her out of Hell when he gets out. Having her around changes things and mostly for the better. Third is ‘Soul and Sword,’ a crossover between Yu Yu Hakusho and Fate/Stay Night. Shiro heard about Genkai from his father before he died, so he goes to her to help him train as a Magus. He ends up in her tournament and ends up getting training from her alongside Yusuke. Shiro unlocks his magic and learns how to be a psychic while helping Yusuke and the gang. The final on is the one I’d already read, ‘Sky Bunny.’ It’s one of the newer(ish) of their stories and is a crossover between KHR and Yu-Gi-Oh! I’ve mentioned it before, but haven’t talked about it. So, Yu-Gi-Oh! Is an anime based on a card games of the same title. The original series is about Yugi Muto, an aspiring duelist who has an old gold Egyptian puzzle necklace that looks like and upside down pyramid. This necklace has the spirit of an old Egyptian pharaoh who takes over and helps Yugi duel. He soon learns that just because it’s a game, it doesn’t make it any less real.

The story has a Fem. Tsuna becoming Yugi’s rival’s, Seto Kaiba, assistant to get away from her hometown. Seto ends up keeping her as his assistant and even transfers her to his and Yugi’s school (before the series starts). I also watched the first episodes of the anime, “Black Clover.” It’s about a young boy named Asta who wants to become the Magic King to prove a poor orphan can do it. The only problem, he doesn’t have any magic. When everyone else, including his rival Yuno, gets a grimoire and he doesn’t, he’s devastated. However, when he stands up to a magician to save his friend, he gets a grimoire that manifests a sword that cuts through magic. The one issue, it has a five-leaf clover on it. That indicates that it’s related to a demon, the very beings the original Wizard King defeated. What will happen next? I don’t know, I just started watching it, but it’s really interesting anyway.

It’s a Week to KH3!

Hey everyone! It’s been an fun weekend. No polls and I haven’t had time to work on getting the list of fanfic I’ve mentioned up yet, still figuring out how I want to do it. In PoGo news, I got a shiny Feebas on Saturday’s event but no one on my town’s chat can find this month’s Spinda task. Anyway, I continued with Taylor Varga and Drifting, along with starting to rereading Demonic Jewels and catching up with Titanfall (Fanfic). I also watched Back Cover and Kingdom Hearts 0.2, so I am completely ready for KH3 a week from now! This weekend’s new chapters were: The Gamer (Webcomic), Breaking the Guilded Cage, Angels and Demons, Relic of the Future, An Essence of Silver and Steel, Taylor Varga Omake (Sat, Sun, Mon), Headstart, Warlock, Price of Blood, The Unseen Hunt, Gun Bunny and Mauling Snarks. I also learned I need to catch up with Ashes of the Past cause it had the battle the whole fic has been leading up to in a few chapters update (not that it’s finished, just that the original point of having gone back is done).

I actually read a few new stories this weekend, so get ready, cause here they come! First is ‘Hive Daughter’ by PlateGlassArmour. It’s a Worm fic with a slight Warhammer 40,000 crossover. It has Taylor connecting to their Hive mind when she Triggers and learning how they do what they do. Next is ‘Teeth and Claws’ by TheShadowSwan. It’s a Harry Potter and KHR crossover with a fem. Harry. She has multiple personalities to deal with different parts of her life and eventually ends up with one called ‘Skull de Mort.’ She is called to the table of greatest because of another personality who was The Greatest Thief, Noir. Then, there was ‘Marvel’s Maelstrom’ by Pibbinator. It’s a Naruto and MCU crossover that has Naruto being transported to save him by Sasuke during the battle against Kaguya. He ends up landing near Kamar-Taj and the Ancient One takes him in and helps him. He wants to get back to help his friends, but can’t find out how to do it. On to more sakurademonalchemist, the first is on that is only on AO3, ‘Transcending Time and Space.’ It’s another crossover between Harry Potter and KHR and has fem. Harry being Fran from the future timeline. She gets her memories back early and leaves after her OWLS to join the Varia. After that is ‘An Angel and a Trickster,’ which is a Supernatural and Harry Potter crossover. In it, fem. Harry is depressed for her fifth year when Gred and Forge summon Loki to the castle to take care of Umbridge. Loki takes a liking to her and decides to make a deal that if he can make her happy again, she’ll go out with him. Can he win the bet or will things come crumbling down. Third is ‘Shattered Mask’ a crossover between Naruto and MCU. When the council tries to screw her over after the War, Fem Naruto takes the other Bijuu and vessels out of the Elemental Countries. They scatter, but she ends up on Asgard as a bar maid. There she meets Thor, Loki and friends. The only one she can tolerate is Loki and she decides to help him out. Fourth is ‘Crimson Typhoon,’ which is a One Piece and Naruto. Kushina’s dad is Shanks and he picks up Fem. Naruto after his parents are killed. She joins him on her crew and ends up working on her own. Oh, and something happened causing each nation to be it’s own island. Fifth is ‘Hidden Song,’ another Harry Potter and Supernatural crossover. This time though, Harry is Bobby (more aged for reasons). Sixth (and last that I’ve read currently of their fics) is ‘Kitsune Otome,’ which is a Mai HIME (Mai OTOME) crossover. In the battle between Sasuke and Fem. Naruto when the former is defecting, a portal is accidentally opened and she ends up in the world of Mai OTOME. She trains to become an Otome until she can go home. Moving On, I also watched “That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime.” The anime is only 16 episodes long now, but the web novel (turned light novel) is finished. After watching all the episodes, I started reading the web novel. Anyway, it’s about an almost 40 salary worker who saves his junior from being stabbed and gets killed. He ends up reincarnated in another world as a slime, but a powerful one. I haven’t finished it yet (by a long shot), but it’s interesting.

Weekend of a Few Readers – 2019 Version

Hello my friends! It’s another Monday with very little traffic over the weekend. I was wondering why there were no votes on my pole and now it’s obvious that it’s because there was next to no one who had heard about it. Anyway, I spent sometime continuing rereading Taylor Varga, Outfoxed and Neo Yondaime Hokage, finished rereading How Eating a Strange Fruit Gave Me My Quirk and Prime Directive: Hero and reread History’s Strongest Disciple Again?! The new chapters for the weekend were from: Ashes to Flame, Mauling Snarks (Fri & Mon), Taylor Varga (Fri, Sat & Sun), Relic of the Future, The Reclamation of Black Magic, Muggleborn Teacher, The Unseen Hunt, The Healing Touch and Tsunami. I wonder if anyone would be interested in me making a page with the fanfiction/online stories links I’ve posted on it. Maybe the next poll if anyone ever votes on this one.

I started off by reading (for the first time) a fanfiction by lazybum89 called ‘A Conversation with the Master of Death.’ It’s an Avengers/Harry Potter crossover that has Phil Coulson meeting with ‘The Master of Death’ when Loki shoots him. He’s surprised to learn that he’s not the only one of the team to have met him. What will happen next? I’ll find out when you do because it only has 3 chapters so far and was last updated in Jan last year. Next I wanted to read a fanfiction, but I hadn’t read the other story it was a crossover with. The webcomic is called “Looking for Group” and is an amusing comic about a Dark Elf named Cale’anon who wants to be a hero, but ends up with people who are villains. This means mostly the first other character he meets, the warlock Richard, who loves killing and setting things on fire. It’s over a thousand pages, but I’ve only read almost 300 currently. I also reread another of VFSNAKE’s fics called, ‘Rewriting History.’ It’s a Naruto fic about how things went wrong after the last war and Naruto ends up in the past to fix the future, starting with stopping his clan’s village from being destroyed. Following that, I started read more sakurademonalchemist stories that I haven’t read before (none of which are finished, of course). The first one is called ‘Chaos Hunter,’ which is crossover between Supernatural and Slayers. “Slayers” is an older anime, based off light novels, about a powerful sorceress called Lina Inverse and her companions. She loves money, treasure and food and often overpowers her spells causing tons of damage. It was one of the most popular of the 1990s.

In the fic, she is transported to the Supernatural world and ends up with Sam instead of Jess at the beginning of the series. Next is ‘Wizard’s Law,’ which is a crossover between Harry Potter and “Law and Order: SVU.” Law and Order: SVU (or Special Victims Unit) a show is about detectives in the (fictional) 16^th Precinct of New York PD who deal with crimes against children (sexual or otherwise) and the elderly. It’s interesting and I haven’t watched in a while, cause it’s been on since 1999 (on it’s 20^th season now). Based on it’s predecessor “Law and Order,” it’s more popular (as evidenced in the fact it’s still going while the other one ended).

The story has the lead female detective, Olivia Benson; finding out Harry Potter is her distant cousin. He is sent to live with her after 4^th year and decides he doesn’t want to go back. In-between baking sweets for the precinct and foiling the attempts of the order to get him back, his life is still anything but normal. Then came ‘The Greatest Prank,’ which the one I read Looking for Group for, as it crossovers with Harry Potter in this fic. After first year, Harry sends an owl message to (what he believes is) a fictional warlock named Richard. When he goes to Hogwarts for his second year, he finds out that self-same Richard is the new DADA teacher. What will be in store for the poor denizens of Hogwarts with him in castle? Following that was ‘A Deal Made in Good Faith,’ which is proof sakurademonalchemist can write longer fics (42 chapters, but still not finished). It’s a crossover mainly between Harry Potter and Supernatural, but there are others stories in there. Female Harry accidentally performs a demon summoning ritual and Crowley comes to investigate. Finding her, he makes a deal with Petunia for her and takes her to Hell. However, she is not tortured or turned into a demon. He wants to use her to finally get the contracts on Voldemort and Dumbledore that are overdue. Follow her as she works to get them or pay their price herself. ‘Curses and Cures’ is the next one. It’s a crossover between Ranma ½ and Fruits Basket. Kyo goes on a training trip to China and finds himself with a curse from the Jusenkyo. This is not a great thing, but he finds out it nulls his Cat curse when active. Using this and his new skills from training with the Amazons, he’ll take the Fruits Basket world by storm. I Changed the Archive and Made a Poll (Please Vote!)

Hey everyone! It’s been a week and no one has liked (or really read) any or the posts since I started this style of writing. Therefore, I made a poll that I’ll put a link to at the beginning of the post for the next week while I continue with this style. I’ve also redone the archive section like I mentioned last time. The only direct chapter links in the Archive will be from the current month. When we get to February, I’ll move the January post links to a January page and put a link to it in Archive. When 2019 ends (and I hopefully will still be posting and have more people reading my posts), I’ll do what I did with my 2018 posts and move the month links to a new 2019 page that will be linked on the main Archive page.

These past few days I’ve read some more of Outfoxed and Lord Over the Night Sky and started rereading Prime Directive: Hero, How Eating a Strange Fruit Gave Me My Quirk and Taylor Varga. The new chapters were from: Tsunami, Service with a Smile, Reality Bites Worm, My Hero Academia (manga chapter), It’s in the Cards, Heroes Assemble!, Taylor Varga and Death March (the online story).

Since I liked the fanfic Archer from last post, I decided to look into other stories by the author Fencer22. The first one that caught my eye was ‘Flames’ which is a Worm and KHR crossover. The only real crossover is that Taylor triggers with Dying Will flames, but not Sky. Instead of the normal Taylor’s outlook of becoming a Hero, this Taylor is more practical and wants money to prepare for the imminent end of the world (and explains why she thinks so). The other one I found interesting was ‘Grind,’ which is a Worm and multiple crossover fic. It has Taylor triggering with the power to enter any type of story (Book, DVD or game) and gain the power(s) of whatever characters she or anyone she brings along play as. The only issue, they have to go through the whole story. For example, when she goes into the first book, she’s stuck ‘reading’ the book and doing whatever the main character does for four hours until the end of it, basically outing herself. It’s a good story, sadly the author decided they could not write it anymore and just posted a spattering of scenes leading up to an ‘ending’ for the last chapter. Next, sakurademonalchemist posted a new story called, ‘Breaking the Gilded Cage.’ It’s a KHR and Natsume’s Book of Friends crossover, with a female Tsuna turning back time to her younger self to get away from the Vongola and instead taking the route of Takashi from Natsume’s Book of Friends. It’s only two chapters long so far, but it’s not bad. Kinda hard to make a decision about how a story will be in two chapters. Following that I found the fic ‘Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion R-eset’ by Starlight’s Poet. It’s a Lelouch of the Rebellion story with side stories like Code Geass: Akito of the Exiled and game storylines included. It starts off with Lelouch getting the chance to relive his rebellion from the start and him taking it. He’s more powerful this time and knows what happened to his mother, so he can focus on taking down Britannia. The story is interesting and I haven’t finished it yet up to the current chapter yet, so I hope it continues to be so. Finally, I started rereading ‘Neo Yondaime Hokage’ by Psycho G. The story is a Naruto one where Minato not only seals the Kyuubi into Naruto; he also seals himself. Naruto grows up as Tsunade’s ‘son’ and soon finds multiple women after him. But, just because he is stronger doesn’t mean he’ll bulldoze through fights. He still will have issues, just different ones than the normal ones. He even accidentally visits the ‘canon’ universe and changes things for the better! Going back to more of what I watched during my ‘Christmas break from blogging’ (I’ll be doing one or two movies/shows for the next few posts because I watched a lot during that time period) I watched “The Mummy Returns” from the Mummy series. I’ve seen it and the rest of the series before, but I always enjoy rewatching them. Watching Rick and Evelyn O’Conner battle it out against Imhotep while trying to save their son is great. I was sad Evelyn didn’t return for the third movie, but it was good anyway. Not sure which one is my favorite, though the third one was probably my least favorite. I would recommend any of them though if you haven’t watched them yet!

To finish it off, I watched “Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children.” I would have liked it better if I had read the story before hand, but it was what was decided to watch at that time. I found it interesting, even if I missed the first part. I’ll probably read the books sometime, but I think I’ll like the books better because it looks like they just crammed the second book at least into the last 30 mins of the movie.

Today (and most of this weekend, at least) I’ll be rereading and then catching up with the web novel I mentioned last post, Death March. I got the 43^rd part of the 10^th act before I started writing this post. The new chapters today are – Ashes to Flame, Tsunami, and Mauling Snarks.

There was also a new chapter for a story I haven’t mentioned yet, ‘Devil Ninja’ by The Engulfing Silence. It’s a crossover between Naruto and High School DxD, where Naruto ends up in the DxD world with no chakra. The extra story I’ll talk about today is one I mentioned earlier, “The Prince of Tennis” (it was when I was talking about the abundance (and variety) of sports manga/anime. The Prince of Tennis is a story by Takashi Konomi about a young tennis prodigy named Ryoma Echizen who just returned from America with his family. He ends up at Seishun Academy (it’s a middle school) and joins its strong tennis team. After beating some of his seniors, he ends up on the team’s regulars. They work together to try and get to and win the National Middle School Tennis Championship. However Ryoma also wants to get better to win against his Dad (who’s much better than him). It’s an older series, but it’s still popular. The original series ran for 42 manga volumes and had 178 episodes. It has a sequel ongoing called “New Prince of Tennis” which is about after the Nationals and onto the Worlds. I recommend this one very much.

Once again, I read more Death March and got to near the middle of the 13^th act at part 20. The new chapters for today were Reincarnation Roulette, Relic of the Future and Heroes Assemble! There was really nothing else today, so onto my replacement story, next paragraph!

I’ll go more in-depth for another story I mentioned about when I talked about sports, “Eyeshield 21” by Riichiro Inagaki. It’s about Sena Kobayakawa, a high school freshman at Deimon High who is a frequent gopher for bullies. His childhood friend, Mamori, protects him, but he finds it embarrassing. The only thing he has going for him is his speed. The devil captain and quarterback of the ‘American Football’ club (yeah, so looked this up and it turns out that this and football of the rest of the world have the same base sport that split when football decided to not use hands. Soccer was a slang term for “Association Football” (no hands) in Europe, but is now only used in North America. Don’t know why “Rugby Football” decided to drop ‘Rugby’, but now there are two footballs. Who knew), Hiruma sees him and tricks him into becoming the third member of the team (along with Kurita, a lineman) as the running back (they borrow members from other teams until they eventually get a full roster). To hide his identity, Sena pretends to be the manager and during the games wears a tinted Eyeshield and has the number 21 (thus Eyeshield 21). Sena gains confidence and grows as they strive to get to the Christmas Bowl. This is another oldie, but goodie. It has 37 manga volumes and 145 anime episodes.

I only got to the end of part 13 of Death March today, but that’s because I reread (and caught up on) Deku: The Golden Saiyan Hero of Hope that had a new chapter today. The other new chapters were from An Unseen Hunt and an omake for Taylor Varga. Once more I read nothing else new, so its time for the talk about another series!

This time is “Cross Game” a baseball series by Mitsuru Adachi, who has written several other baseball and sport series. Cross Game is about Ko Kitamura, who is a great pitcher. His childhood friend, Wakuba Tsukishima (the second daughter in the family), treats him as her boyfriend and wants him and her sister Aoba (the third daughter) to get along. Her last dream she relays to them before she dies in an accident while they’re in elementary school is for them (Ko and Aoba) to go to Koshien (the high school baseball championship) together. He eventually joins the baseball team in high school and she becomes the manager because she can’t join the team (even though she hates him, mostly). They overcome the team’s difficulties and work toward their goal of making that dream come true. It’s a sweet story, though it has a sad beginning. It has 17 volume of manga and 50 anime episodes (I really love the opening and closing themes!). I very much hope you read/watch this one.

It looks and sounds great, though I’m sad we won’t be able to hear the full version unless we pre-order/get the album and even then not until it comes out on Jan 18 a week before the game comes out).

Monday

So today I got to part 20 of act 15 (the middle of it) of Death March. There are only 16 acts currently, but it (again currently) has 78 parts and an intermission. I may finish tomorrow, but I should be finished on Wednesday at the latest. The new chapters today are Mauling Snarks and How Eating a Strange Fruit Gave Me My Quirk.

There was a new chapter for a story from ack1308 called, ‘Are You Afraid of the Dark?’ It’s a Worm fic where Danny and his wife Annette were a hitman team called Dark. They stopped after Taylor was born, but when Taylor is put in the locker and her favored dog (only in this fic) is stolen, he dons his former identity to get back the dog and get revenge for his daughter. For today’s new series, I’ll take a break from the sports and Japanese stories. “The Hardy Boys” by several people under the pen name Franklin W. Dixon is an older children’s mystery series about brothers Frank and Joe Hardy. They’re teenagers who are amateur detectives, following after their father who is also one. They usually assist their father or stumble onto something with his cases. The original series was started in 1927, but were revised in 1959 to be less racist and simpler. It ran until 2005, when “Undercover Brothers” started. That ran until 2012 and “The Hardy Boys Adventures” started in 2013. The original series has 190 books (though some only consider the first 58 to be ‘canon’). It’s a fun series for your kids, I should know I read some when I was young!

Today, I read a few more Ashes of the Past. The new chapters today are Ripples and Reality Bites Worm. I also read more stories from ack1308.

The first one of the two is ‘Wyvern,’ which is a Worm fic where Taylor triggers into a wyvern instead. She can change into it when she’s afraid and change back when she’s comfortable/happy. The second one is called ‘I’m HALPING’ another Worm fic. It has an unnamed human-shaped Endbringer (who’s eventually named ‘Zachary’), whose purpose is to protect Taylor Hebert. He lets her out of the locker immediately, but is hounded by the PRT and Protectorate. Next, I read a fic called, ‘The Last Master’ by Woona The Cat. Its an Unlimited Blade Works and Fate Grand Order crossover where Shirou takes the place of the main character in the game (because of Zelretch shenanigans of course). He changes things, but still becomes the last master of Chaldea. It’s only 5 chapters and not finished yet, but has been updated recently. Following I read a Star Wars fic called, ‘I Know: Or, How Ahsoka Tano Saved the Skywalkers’ by Sianshanya. It has Ahsoka finding out that Anakin and Padmé are together and before she leaves tells him to confide in Obi-Wan. This saves Anakin from falling to the Dark Side and leads to a different story. Wednesday

There’s nothing from former stories other than new chapters, so here they are: Lucy Heartfilia and the World of the Gods, Organization 13 and a Half, Mauling Snarks (Omake), It’s in the Cards, Master Potter of Kamar-Taj and Heroes Assemble! I finally finished my Let’s Go Pokedex (except for Melmetal, but that will take a while. Only almost 200 candies so far and I need 400) and caught a shiny Weedle on Let’s Go Pikachu.

The only other thing I read today was – Death March kara Hajimaru Isekai Kyousoukyoku (or Death March to the Parallel World Rhapsody). While there are light novels (several versions, if I’ve read correctly), a manga and an anime (1 season), I’m reading the translation of the original web novel (which is still ongoing). I’ve read it before up to where it was at then in the 16^th part somewhere (The parts get longer with each progressive one. For example the first one has 10 sections and the tenth one has 51 sections, 7 Intermissions and 13 short stories).

It’s about a Japanese 20 something year old programmer who goes to sleep and wakes up in a fantasy world looking 15. He’s level 1 in the middle of no-where and the only special thing he has is a menu, an all-map identify spell and 3 map clear meteor spells (in all but the original web novel, he’s about to be attacked by lizard people). He activates the meteor spell and becomes over level 300. He then goes through this world meeting people and trying to be a sightseer (he fails and gets into many situations to help people) and find out why he ended up here (I think we know the basics when I got to the current chapter back then, but you find out much later). It’s fun, but I’ll be stuck on this for a while cause I’m only just starting the 6^th act (I’ll make sure to write about something else too, so don’t worry). Thursday

I read more of Death March (I’ll just call it this) today and got to the 13^th section of the 9^th part. The only new chapter was for Seerking’s Asylum (he’s on break for the holidays on the normal schedule), but there was a rewrite notice for chapter 5 of Konsō and a poll notice for Broken Dreams. I also went to my town’s festival today about a Christmas drink (there were many variations of it, along with singing and food.

As I only read Death March, I’ll talk about the Accel World light novel series by Reki Kawahara. It’s about a fat student named Arita Haruyuki who lives in a future where people can have chips implanted that can have their brains jacked into the computer. His avatar is very nimble, but that’s the only thing he has going for him (he’s bullied, his two childhood friends are going out and he’s the third wheel). When he meets the beautiful Kuroyukihime, he joins the program Brain Burst and enters the Accelerated World where he uses his skills to help her beat everyone else (and escape his current reality). It’s still being published, but there are 23 novels out now along with a manga, a few anime seasons and a movie.

Today I started rereading the Pick Up the Piece series and got part way through the second one Move On. There were new chapters for – Tsunami, Viridescent, A Smile on Your Face and a Song in Your Heart, Mauling Snarks, Taylor Varga and Stand Together and Smile. I read more new sakurademonalchemist stories also.

The first one is called ‘Moon Sword’ and it is a crossover between Sailor Moon and Fate/Stay Night. It has Usagi and Shirou switching places in the fire (meaning Usagi was there for the fire and had her memories wiped, then Usagi ended up with Kiritsugu and Shirou was adopted into Usagi’s family, who thought she was dead). It also had the Moon and ‘Atlantis’ (where Endymion lived) around the time of Babylon, where Gilgamesh was also interested in Serenity (who only went after Endymion because her mother kept pushing her at him). When she summons him away from the church, he recognizes her and decides to help her and stay around. Things change drastically. The second one was ‘Angel Fire’, which is a crossover between the Guild Hunter series and Harry Potter. The Guild Hunter series’ first book is “Angel’s Blood” and it was the other thing I read today. Angel’s Blood is about Elena Deveraux, who is a vampire hunter. It’s not like normal though, vampires are Made (yes, it’s also captiallized in the book) by Angels from people who want to live longer (most of the time). They have to serve the Angel who turns them for a long time before they’re free. When a vampire runs away from that service or starts hunting humans, people like Elena are sent to capture or kill them. Elena is one of the best, that’s why the local Archangel, Raphael, chooses her for a very special assignment, hunting down another Archangel who’s turning to bloodlust. She has to do this, while fighting off her attraction to Raphael.

It’s an interesting series and I only found it because I wanted to read Angel Fire. There’s romance, but no sex scenes. I would recommend it.

Angel Fire is about a female Harry who discovers she’s Angel born when Umbridge pushes her off a tower and her wings reveal themselves. She runs away and ends up in Raphael’s territory. Today I read more Pick Up the Piece series and got part way thought the third and last, Rebuild. The new chapters for today were Relic of the Future and Heroes Assemble! I once again read some new sakurademonalchemist stories.

The first was ‘Daughter of Flame’ and it is a Fullmetal Alchemist and Harry Potter crossover. It has female Harry being the daughter of Roy Mustang instead and her going through the Gate to meet him after her fourth year. There she eventually meets the Elric brothers and journeys with them. They follow her to Hogwarts to learn about magic. Oh, did I mention that the Wizarding World thinks she’s a boy? Find out here – https://www.fanfiction.net/s/11569177/1/Daughter-of-Flame.

The second one was ‘Summoner’s Sword’ and it is a Fate/Stay Night and Chrono Crusade crossover. Chrono Crusade (which I haven’t read in a long time) is about Rosette Christopher and her soul-bound demon Chrono, who are members of the Order of Magdalene. They hunt other demons across America while searching for Rosette’s brother, who was taken by another demon. It’s an interesting story and the anime and manga have different endings (I don’t know which one is better because I don’t think I’ve watched the anime).

Summoner’s Sword’s only real crossover with Chrono Crusade is that Shirou is from the Harvenheit clan (Satella Harvenheit is a jewel summoner in Chrono Crusade). His abilities as a Harvenheit can only be revived when Shirou is hypnotized and his other personality changes. Säbel is this other personality’s name. Shirou can still use his normal abilities as himself, but he can now change personalities to change his abilities. This changes many things and Säbel makes things better. Finally, there was ‘Identity Crisis,’ a crossover between Doctor Who and Harry Potter. It has the Metacrisis Doctor (the one from the end of season 4 of the reboot, the duplicate of The Doctor who’s part human), being left by Rose because he isn’t The Doctor. He then finds a way to a parallel universe and uses a ritual to reincarnate himself so he can find a way to activate his Time Lord abilities. He ends up as Harry Potter. I also watched the new Robin Hood movie today. It was okay. I’m not really recommending it, but it’s not a horrible movie. They tried to humanize the Sheriff, but it kinda fell flat because he’s working for the people that abused him. I would have liked to maybe have them try to semi-save him (meaning he acted for the good guys in the end). I also felt that one character’s plot twist was a bit too much. I mean there’s spite and then there’s WTF. All in all, probably better off as a one-time Red Box rental.

I finished up the Pick Up the Pieces rereading and I finally made those lists I was talking about so I don’t reintroduce a fanfiction, story, show or movie! The new chapters were from – The Unseen Hunt and Tsunami. There are more new sakurademonalchemist (now SDA to not have to type that name every time) stories as well (I’m working through them backwards).

The first one is ‘Adamantium’ and it is an X-Men and Harry Potter crossover. It has Magneto waking up on the train to Hogwarts as an eleven year old with no idea how he got there. The next one is called, ‘Befriending Sword.’ It’s a Lyrical Nanoha and Fate/Stay Night crossover where Yunno meets Shirou instead and makes him a magical boy. The last of SDA’s stories today is ‘Queens of Cosplay.’ It’s a crossover between Lyrical Nanoha and Sekirei that has Uzume’s ‘Destined One’ being Hayate. Today I read a few more chapters of Ashes of the Past. The new chapters for today are Mauling Snarks, The Gamer (webcomic) and Headstart. There are no new stories from SDA today, yay! I also activated another Meltan box.

I reread ‘Campione of the Holy Grail’ by fg7dragon. It’s a crossover between Heaven’s Feel (Type Moon Universe, same time frame but different route from Fate/Stay Night) and Campione! Illya ends up the last one alive to face Angra Mayu and ends up becoming a Campione for killing him. She becomes the 7^th Campione and does what she wants (basically explore the world). I read a new story called ‘Reality Bites Worm’ by Selector. It’s a pure Worm fic that has Taylor triggering at a different time. She gathers an all female team together and with some help becomes a force for good. I find it interesting and it has 27 chapters, with more to come as it was updated on the 27^th of last month. Finally, I also watched “Christopher Robin.” I enjoyed it and it’s message, that living to work isn’t really living at all. I remember watching Winnie the Pooh when I was younger and thought the live action versions were nice. I like the symbolism that he’s the Heffalump taking all the happiness away. I would very much recommend it!

Today I finished The Irregular at Magic High School book 18 and read book 19 and read some more of Escape from the Hokage’s Hat. There were new chapters for Mauling Snarks, Ashes to Flame and History’s Strongest Disciple Again? (the one I beta read). I also read some more sakurademonalchemist.

The first new one (again for me, not overall) was ‘Swords of a Devil.’ It’s a Type Moon Universe and High School DxD crossover where Shirou is a devil and is kidnapped by the Church after he is adopted. The other new one was ‘Queen of the Grimm.’ It’s a Once Upon a Time and Grimm crossover. Grimm is a TV Series about Nick Burkhardt who is a Grimm. A Grimm can see the true form of Wesen, which are part human and part animal. He defends his city from evil Wesen and helps those in trouble.

The story has Regina leaving Emma in charge of the town in order to get away from the Charmings and her mother. She ends up in Portland, OR and meets Nick. She is also a Grimm and helps him and others out. Here is the link – https://www.fanfiction.net/s/11555943/1/Queen-of-the-Grimm.

I also watched the first few episodes of “Storage Wars: Northern Treasures.” It was okay, but the original is so much better. There’s way too much animosity and bad mouthing in this one. In the original, while they were competing, it was more of a friendly rivalry most of the time. In this one, they just seem to hate each other. I wouldn’t really recommend it, personally.

Today, I read more Escape from the Hokage’s Hat. There were new chapters for Relic of the Future, Harry Potter and the Stargate and Heroes Assemble! and Black Sky (Yay, it’s back. Though it’s only sporadically for now). Other than that I watched some more episodes of The Irregular at Magic High School. It was kinda a slow day.

I’ll talk about the Artemis Fowl series. It’s an 8 book series about Artemis Fowl, a genius middle school student who wants to make back the money his family had lost. He decides to do this by stealing from the fairies, who he had found out were real. He kidnaps a LEPRecon (Lower Elements Police, Recon division, because they live underground) Captain, Holly Short. The first book has him against LEPRecon, but they’re on sort of the same side after that. I like the series a lot and am looking forward to the movie I heard about next year.

Today was more Escape from the Hokage’s Hat and episode of The Irregular at Magic High School. There were new chapters for The Unseen Hunt and two short omakes for Taylor Varga. Other than that I worked on the Let’s Go, Meltan PoGo tasks and finally got to the fifth set with needing to do 10 raids tomorrow to complete it and a few chapters of Mists of a Dawning Sky.

Since I, once again, have very little, I’ll talk about the Outlander series. Outlander is a book series about Claire Randall who is having a second honeymoon with her husband Frank (after WWI) in Scotland. She goes through a stone circle and ends up in 1743 and gets caught up in the Scots revolt of the time. She meets Jamie Fraser and has to make a decision: try and get back to her time or live her life here. There are eight books out now with at least one more on the way. I like this book series and the TV series follows it well (overly so in some cases).

There is sex in the series, but the main warning I’ll give is that there is a graphic scene in both the book and TV series where there is a male raping another male. Just to give fair warning.

Monday

Today, I finished rereading Mists of the Dawning Sky, finished watching the first (and currently only) season of The Irregular at Magic High School and completed the Let’s Go, Meltan quests (even though I already had more than a few Meltans from sending Pokémon to Let’s Go). There were new chapters for Reincarnation Roulette, Mauling Snarks and Seerking’s Asylum. I read some more sakurademonalchemist again.

I reread their story, ‘Flames of the Black Cat,’ which is a Black Cat and KHR crossover. Black Cat is about a Sweeper (bounty hunter) named Train Heartnet who is a former member of an assassination organization called Chronos. He and his companions have to fight against Chronos and later his former best friend’s (who killed his girlfriend for changing him from an assassin) organization. I like both the anime and manga and definitely recommend it.

The story has Train reincarnating as female Tsuna, who has a male twin. Realizing he/she’ll be in a bad situation later, Train leaves and becomes a hit woman (though she hides her gender). The other story I reread was ‘Fated Bonds,’ which is a Fate/Stay Night and Naruto crossover. It has Archer Emiya summoned along with the Shinigami. He leads a life as a blacksmith in Konoha until he finds his ‘summoner’ a young Naruto. He takes Naruto in and helps change Sasuke’s fate. Finally, I read ‘The Witch of 221b Baker Street,’ which is a Sherlock and Harry Potter crossover. It has Female Harry becoming disillusioned by the magical world after 4^th year and getting away rather than being used. She becomes Joanne Watson and ends up as Sherlock’s roommate. There was also a new chapter for a story by ack1308 called ‘Another Way.’ It’s a Worm story where Amy (or Amelia in this case) is never taken from her father (because he isn’t captured). Sherlock is a 3 episode per season, British TV series that has Sherlock in modern London. It’s okay, but has a habit of leaving the audience at a cliffhanger for a while (There was some time between season 1 and 2 if I remember correctly).

There was also a new chapter of a story by Kenichi618 called ‘Shinobi of the High Seas.’ It’s a Naruto and One Piece crossover where Naruto is immortal and after some time looking after the Elemental Nations, (he leaves Konoha to be a protector of the EN when he finds out he’s immortal. He never had a family with Hinata) he decides to see the rest of the world. He eventually meets Luffy early on his (Luffy’s) journey and hangs out with him for a while. He gets his own ship and crew. I’m writing this before I head out to a showing of the new Pokémon movie – “The Power of Us” and will write a little about it when I get back before I post this. Which will be here –

I really liked it, the movie did a good job of mixing Pokémon and real world problems everyone has. One of the main ones, and relevant to most people, is that lies only cause problems, not solve them. Lies cause a lot of the problems in the movie that could have easily been avoided otherwise. I would definitely recommend The Power of Us. It’s showing in select theaters on the 28^th and the 2^nd. There still might be tickets left if you want to see it (there were less than 10 people including me in the theater tonight). Hope you like it too!
