Hello friends, it’s me again. It’s been a mix of boring and training/conference this week. I had two trainings this week and we had the company wide conference. I needed very little from one training and the other was a refresher with only a few new things I needed to know. The conference was honestly just kinda, meh. Maybe if I didn’t have issues with my supervisors, it would have been better, but it’s hard to change your attitude when those above you aren’t willing to advance you. Or even really talk to you about things (like at the conference was the first time I’ve heard any of the supervisors say they had hired someone for aforementioned job I’ve not been getting instead of the HR email to everyone that some people just skip over). Or say “So and so can do that too”, while not having heard the whole conversation where the other person said they were going to lunch, and I was letting them know what I was going to do while they were doing that. Most likely because (and this is admittedly me paraphrasing and projecting) “You’re not letting them do the work so they can learn” or “You’re not their supervisor, so don’t tell them what to do”.
And this is a second hand story from my co-worker, that I didn’t know about, but am not surprised about. What I saw … My supervisor wanted one of us to take things to a room for someone and said either of us could do it. My co-worker offered when I mentioned it (because they weren’t there originally) and I said the two items I remembered, but couldn’t remember which of two other items was the third. Our supervisor walked in and I asked to confirm, and maybe he was annoyed that the two of us talked for a second to confirm the products that led to the later issue. Then what they told me … They went to get the items, but forgot one so came to ask. They saw the supervisor was talking to an upper-level person from another department outside the door to the office where we work and was going to come and ask me the question because he was busy. He stopped them to ask what they wanted and they mentioned they wanted to ask me a question about what to take. He said that he was the supervisor and the one who got to original request so they should have asked him in his raised voice in front of this other person. They got the answer, but when he started going after them trying to talk, they just ignored him because they didn’t want to blow up at him. They mentioned he hasn’t said anything else about it since, but the level of insecurity that you have to have to feel the need to consistently remind people that you’re the one in charge is staggering.
Moving on from that, I’ll talk about Fantastic Four: First Steps next time. There’s been a few changes in what I’m listening to. I’ve finished My Heroic Drabbles by sakurademonalchemist and I’ll talk about the short stories from it I was interested in. The first one is The Best There Ever Was a Ranma ½ two-shot crossover. It’s a Izuku is Ranma reincarnated. He takes not having a quirk as a challenge and decides to become a hero without one. The second on is also a Ranma ½ two-shot. In this one, Izuku is a Hibiki and gets lost a lot. Ryoga comes to train him along with the other Nerima Wrecking Crew. Third is Unexpected Relations, a Bleach two-shot crossover. In it, fem. Ichigo’s quirk is burnt out when she losses her powers. Soul Society abandons her, so Ishin suggests she goes to UA to try and find her maternal grandfather, a hero her grandmother spent a week with when they couldn’t leave the city. It’s All Might, surprise right? Finally, Zero to Hero is a Dragon Ball Z two-shot crossover. In it, Inko is killed by Endeavor by accident and Izuku’s quirk is Saiyan (or the ability to go the DBZ universe, unsure). He’s trained by the crew and is friends with Dabi. There are others, but those are the ones I’ll choosing to mention.
I then listened to The Analyst by aicyel. It’s a My Hero Academia fic where Snipe finds one of Izuku’s notebooks sometime before the start of the series and sees for the threat to the heroes in it, that is really is. They set to work to find this Izuku and make sure he’s protected and learns how to secure his work. It’s fun, but sadly only 11 chapters and hasn’t updated since 2022. I’ll talk about the next one I’m listening to next post.
I finally finished Desperately Seeking Ranma by PixelWriter1. First afterwards, I listened to an offshoot one-shot Xander sees an Aoyama (Ms). It set after the 2nd season of Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Xander meets Ms. Aoyama (Nabiki’s scary other form from DSR), who listens to his story. She tells that this world is a experiment by powerful entities and gives him a portal generator to escape if he needs to. He decides to become a better hunter and even learns meditation. Might be more eventually, but the author hasn’t posted anything since 2022 (sadly).
Then I decided to listen to Tome of the Orange Sky by CmptrWz. It’s a Naruto fic with a slight Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha crossover. None of the characters are in it, but it all starts with a broken device crash landing on their planet long before the Tree and the Ten Tails. Naruto accidently finds it when young and hiding in a cave. It changes many things and breaks the original future. It’s fun and even completed after 120 chapters.
Then I got tired of listening to Super God Gene after 604 chapters and listened to Chaos and Shadows by sakurademonalchemist. It’s a Harry Potter and Fate series crossover. Fem Harry gets accidently sent back to past and is reincarnated as Fate’s Mordred. Her mother, Mogana, tells her how she’d been conceived to prove she was Arturia’s son (daughter). This leads her to drink, but she knows she can’t change the overall end of Camelot, but she can give it her own spin. She and Arturia survive (though the king is under Draft of the Living Death) and they go to the fairy realm. It’s an interesting story, it has 20 chapters and is sadly incomplete like most of this author’s works. Though it was updated last year, so who knows.
I finished the third book of Modern Villainess and wanted to read 4-6 later as I haven’t read them before, so I changed to Poor SAP Gohan’s Secret’s Revealed by dragonprincess3. It’s a Dragon Ball Z fic where Gohan’s class goes on a multiweek trip for the Successful Adult Program. The first place (and only one they got to in the fic) is Capsule Corp. There the class and old friends learn some of his secrets and Videl learns more about him. Has 37 chapters and like I implied is incomplete and hasn’t been updated since 2013.
On to the quest, first is Arch mage, the Path of Magic by Kairomaru. It’s a Harry Potter fic, where he’s raised by Sirius and the Tonks family. He’s prodigy in magic and can do wandless before Hogwarts. It’s fun and interesting and more importantly, still updating!
Second is Archer by Fencer22. It’s a Worm and Fate series crossover. I’ve talked about it here. It’s now got 31 chapters, but hasn’t updated since 2022. However, the author posted on another fic just last month, so they’re still around.
Third is Are you Afraid of the Dark? By ack1308. It’s a Worm fic with slight John Wick flavor. I’ve talked about it before here. It now has 13 chapters and was updated earlier this year.
Next is Armoured Skill by Night Raydes. Night Raydes is the newest name for the author Myrddin de Celestis that I have on my site. I’ve talked about it before here. It’s 8 chapters but has been cancelled because the author revived another fic and decided to continue that one rather than this one.
Following that is Arrow of Truth by sakurademonalchemist. It’s a Fullmetal Alchemist and Fate/Stay Night crossover. I’ve talked about it before here. It’s 10 chapters and hasn’t been updated since 2016.
The last story I’ll talk about for the quest today is a light novel series I’m a fan of. It’s called Ascendance of a Bookworm: I’ll Do Anything to Become a Librarian! By Miya Kazuki. A recent college graduate bookworm from Japan is killed when earthquake happens and she’s crushed by books and the bookshelf. She’s reincarnated in a medieval magical world as young Myne. As the sickly daughter of gatekeeper, there’s no way she would have access to books, but that doesn’t stop her from trying. If she can’t get books, she decides that she’ll just make her own. However, the disease she has is magical one and if she doesn’t have access to devices to siphon off the magic, she’ll die. This her story and how she rises from the bottom to the top. There are 33 books in the main series, set in 5 parts. The last two books will be available in print by September 9th! This is a great series and even has an manga and anime that has a few seasons! I’m deleting the pdfs in my text to speech as the audio books are coming out on Audible.
The only other thing I have is that I couldn’t get either of the event Pokémon from Adventure Week in PoGo even after I went to those biomes. That’s all I have this week, so as always – May Your Heart Be Your Guiding Key!
