Changes are a Coming

Hello, everyone! I hope everyone had a great week. Mine was fine, I’m most likely going to have to start earlier for the next month or so because of a change at one of our locations that needs a morning delivery. I had hoped it would be overtime, but because it’s just about half an hour I’ll just be leaving earlier (and I also potentially have jury duty this coming week).

I did go and see the new Reincarnated as a Slime movie on Friday, and it was amusing. I honestly never thought I’d be rooting for Gobta in the romance department. I posted the third chapter of my fanfic Thursday and you can find the links in the My Fanfics at the top of the homepage.

My first listening change was that I finished Hero Academia DxD and decided to relisten to Back to the Beginning by Aliandris. It’s another MHA fic that I first mentioned in the quest here. It’s an Izuku/Ochaco fic where they both got OFA in different timelines. Things go wrong in Jaku City and they both die at the same time. 2nd has a time travel quirk and they both get sent back in the same timeline. Watch as they try and fic as much as they can. It still hasn’t been updated since 2024, but it has 92 chapters.

The second change was that I also finished Avatar Taylor and decided to relisten to The Reincarnator’s Tavern by GnomeBob. I’m actually surprised I don’t have this on the site considering I like listening to it, but who knows. This one is a bit complicated, so 100 people are reincarnated by an afterlife tavern and asked to play a game. They can chose one of two body types and roll six 6-sided dice (2 of each color to add together) to choose which what the power level each of the classes is (It’s more complicated, but the first chapter is an info dump). The ultimate game is played in the MCU, but the two body types are made up of other stories that you learn before the main story of the MCU starts. The first body type has the DBZ, HP and Naruto power systems and you have to learn them in the world during the story. The second body type has the HxH, One Piece and SW power systems. In each of them you’re the same age as the MC, but the players forget everything about all the worlds of the game.

The player we follow is Rayleigh Rush. He chooses SW as his main power and starts off there. He ends up on Tython and learn how to use his chosen main skill, Psychometry. Watch as he trains to become a swordsman, and helps mess up the stories he’s in. It has 83 chapters and he’s gone to the MCU to train with Hawkeye as a kid, HxH for most of its storyline, One Piece thru Ace’s death (though the players messed the conclusion to that) and has just returned to SW around the time of Episode 2. It’s fun and worth the read, sadly it was last updated at the end of last year.

Lastly, I reached the last chapter I remember reading from Tome of the Orange Sky (Though I’m now reading them to finish it as it is complete) and decided to change to Obscured By Clouds by Umei no Mai and InsaneScriptist. A warning before I describe this one, it’s locked to AO3 users only. This is a KHR fic, where almost a year after the ‘Cradle Affair’ (which I agree with several fics [including this one] is a stupid name), the cloud officer tries to kill off a civilian who disrespected him. However, she survives and kills him with Cloud flames, making her the new Cloud Officer. Other than being sad at her parents deaths during the incident, she acts like an adult and makes things better at the Varia. Including getting Xanxus out a lot earlier. It’s a good fic and is complete with 9 chapters.

So, onto the quest, first is Forgetting by sbmcneil. It’s a Harry Potter one-shot prequel to another one of this author’s fics. It’s the summer after The Chamber of Secrets and Ginny is not doing well. Both she and Harry are saying they need to see each other, but the adults around them are scared of what’s happening. Dumbledore convinces the Weasleys to obliviate her of her first year and does the same to Harry. Afterwards, the two meet up in a dream and Ginny is sent to Beauxbatons on Harry’s dime. It’s all set up and a mess of bad choices and mostly unnecessary as most is explained in the main fic.

Second is one I’ve talked about listening to before: Forging Destiny by White Angel of Auralon. It’s a Harry Potter fic I first mentioned here. Harry meets Sirius before he goes to London and decides to stay with him. Sirius takes him to Grimwald Place and helps him to take control of his life. Sirius also gets a new identity and sets things up to bring down Dumbles influence. It’s complete with 38 chapters and a sequel.

Third is Forgotten Angel by sakurademonalchemist. This is a Harry Potter, Supernatural and Consantine crossover that I first mentioned during the last quest, here. Harry is projected to die at birth, so the angels send Castiel to make sure Voldie dies. However, his memories are scrambled by the killing curse so he lives a Harry. He becomes Cas Shields and is John Constantine’s little brother. Hogwarts won’t know what’ll hit them. It’s incomplete with 12 chapters and was last updated in 2015.

Fourth is Forgotten Famigilia by sakurademonalchemist. This one is a Harry Potter and KHR fic that I also mentioned in the last quest, here. Harry learns his has family before third year and contacts his Great-Aunt Daniela Vongola. Learning about his situation, she takes over his guardianship after the Sirius mess. She decides to send Xanxus to Hogwarts with him to make sure Harry should stay there. It has 20 chapters and was last updated in 2017.

Fifth and last is Formed From Clay by sakurademonalchemist. This is one is a Harry Potter and Fate/Stay Night crossover I having mentioned yet as it came out after the quest. When Lily has trouble conceiving (because James’s seed was damaged), she uses a ritual and her child is an incarnation of Enkido. Fem Harry (Rhea) eventually finds this out and leaves the wizarding world behind. She ends up in Fuyuki for the 4th grail war and meets a certain ancient king. It’s fun, but only has 7 chapters and was last updated in 2020.

A Weekend for a Few Readers

So it looks like there were a few people who visited this past weekend. Thanks to those who did! Lets see if we can’t get more people to come. On to the weekend!

Friday

There were four new chapters that came out today. One for Stark Imprint, which reveals that it ‘happens’ after whatever the conclusion of the Avengers 4 movie.  The second one was for Parva Sub Ingenti and has the group going back through the Gate to Earth. The third one was of course Mauling Snarks (as usual). The last one was for a story a previously mentioned author, ack1308, called ‘It Gets Worse.’ Like most of his stories, it is based on Worm. Instead of Taylor triggering with Insect Control, she gets an unconscious power that brings bad luck to those who wish her harm or discomfort. For most of the rest of the day I read Reaching for a Dream from yesterday and it’s three sequels. Reaching for a Dream is a straight Naruto fic, but at the end of it (30 chapters) they story leaves that universe. The second story is in the Justice League universe. Naruto and his wife (the Kyuubi) decide to try ‘Trolling the League.’ No, really that’s the name of the fic. It’s only 8 chapters, but it’s amusing. The third in the series is called ‘Sekirei? Is that some new species of little sister?’ The two go to the Sekirei universe (as is stated in the title) so Naruto can find some little sisters (it’s a common theme, he had some in the first story as well). He ends up derailing the Sekirei plan and of course finding some little sisters. This one is 17 chapters and is amusing. The last (currently) in this series is called ‘The(questionable) burdens of leadership of a troll Emperor.’ It takes place in the Stargate universe and starts long long before the original movie. Naruto and his wife decide to make an empire for his new little sisters, starting on a distant planet and planning to take over the galaxy(ies). I didn’t finish this today, but hope to tomorrow. To be honest, I haven’t really watched any Stargate before today. So, I watched the original movie to get a feel for it. I liked it, but I could have done without a family member ruining the ending on the way to dinner.

Oh, before I end today, I remembered that with all the Quartermass fics, I forgot to write about the Seerking story that updated on Wednesday. It’s called ‘Campione of the Raging Tides’ and is (obviously) set in the Campione universe. It has the eighth Campione being born, an OC (Original Character) named Jean Campbell. It shows her (re)birth and actions after becoming a Campione. It’s really good, but it’s a yuri(girl with girl) fic. Like I continue to say, Don’t Like, Don’t Read. Saturday

Not really much to say today. I finished The(questionable) burdens of leadership of a troll Emperor and read more of Becoming a Man among Men. The new story I read is called ‘Deku: The Golden Saiyan Hero of Hope. This is a My Hero Academia and Dragon Ball series crossover (though the author doesn’t label it that way). It has Deku finding his quirk? (This is unknown, it might be he just awakened his heritage as a Sayian. It’s unclear.) while also getting One for All. Since I mentioned the Dragon Ball series, I might as well go a little bit in depth on it for those who don’t know. The Dragon Ball series’ main character is Goku Son (or Son Goku in Japanese naming with the last name first). Goku is a Saiyan. Saiyans are a species of human like aliens who look human with a tail that can transform into an uncontrollable giant ape during the full moon. They were a mercenary group that took over planets and sold them. Goku was sent to Earth as a baby to destroy it, but an accident erases this instinct.

When he is 11 or 12, a girl named Bulma comes to his mountain home looking for a Dragon Ball. They are a set of seven golden balls with 1-7 stars on them that grant a wish to the one who gathers them. This sets them on journey that leads to many friends and enemies. His journey until he turns 18 (and gets married) happens in Dragon Ball. Dragon Ball Z continues his story and his son Gohan’s as well. There are many movies, specials and games along with newer series Dragon Ball Super and Dragon Ball Heroes. If you want to watch everything, it will take a long time.

Other than that, today was the day that Moltres was available for three hours in raids (PoGo). I went out and got the shiny version (YAY), but right after that the game went buggy and after waiting a while I get went home. I got what I wanted; I don’t need more than one. On to tomorrow!

Sunday

Today had some more new chapters for stories, though they’re all Quartermass ones. The fics were Warlock, Parva Sub Ingenti and Plenipotent Player Prince. I also read a new fic from him called ‘Revenant.’ It’s a Harry Potter and X-Men crossover. After things go wrong and most of his friends die at his & Ginny’s wedding (He does, but Master of Death), Harry takes revenge as is put through the veil, ending up in the Xavier home a few years before the First Class movie. I started, but didn’t read much of, ‘One Punch Man: A tad different’ by CrimsonSZ. One Punch Man is about a man called Saitama who trained to be a hero for fun to fight against monsters. However, he is so powerful, one punch is all it takes to kill his enemies. In this fic instead of being ignored by the Hero’s Association, he meets the number 2 hero, Tatsumaki, during the first episode. I also read the fic, ‘Reincarnation Roulette’ by Nemesis13. It’s a Code Geass fic with Lelouch having been reincarnated millions of times. This one has him as female and is during the Japanese invasion. Things are very different. It only has 6 chapters, but I’m looking forward to more. The last story for today is ‘Remnant’s Maelstrom Shinobi’ by MothBallz. It’s a Naruto and RWBY crossover with Naruto being sent a long time into the future to save him. The future is the RWBY universe. Watch as Naruto adapts and learns what happened to the shinobi world. (doesn’t have very many Naruto characters, mostly referenced). I started off reading some more of The Remnant Knight and One Punch Man: A tad different, but haven’t finished rereading them yet. There were some more new chapters: Seerking’s Asylum for Plot Bunnies that Won’t Stop Buggin Me, Mauling Snarks, Parva Sub Ingenti and Plenipotent Player Prince.

Then I read a new fic (for me) called ‘The Healing Touch’ by xpegasus. It is a My Hero Academia fic that has Deku finding that he does have a quirk that allows him to heal himself and others when he meets All Might. It’s interesting. I started reading another My Hero Academia fic named ‘Headstart’ by Kamil the Awesome. It has All Might finding Deku 4 years earlier and allowing him to get One for All earlier and train with it. I started rereading a fic called ‘Viridescent’ by darkfire1220 that is also a My Hero Academia fic. It has Deku having a quirk, but not using it because he is afraid of other’s reactions to it. This is because it is the same as his (OC) villain father’s. It has him getting One for All, but also attracting All for One’s attention. I read a lot of My Hero Academia fics today, right? The last one is called ‘Prime Directive: Hero’ by awkardnaut626. It has Deku finding out he does have a quirk at 4, that allow him to analyze anything, including quirks, and use it (including other’s quirk powers). See how this changes things. The last fanfiction I read today was ‘Time and Sand’ by Scififan33.   It is a Star Wars story (yeah, I’m not going to explain this one. Look it up if you don’t know.). Luke ends up in the past before Episode I on Tatooine. He ended up there after an AU (Alternate Universe) of The Last Jedi where Luke goes with Rey to Ben.
