It’s Late and Short (Sorry)

Hello again my readers, it’s once again been a boring week. Sorry, this is a day late again. I got caught up in reading and watching anime along with trying to get all the Alpha Unown types in Legends Arceus (I have 18, but the rest are taking a while). I did have to make an almost 5 hour round trip to deliver something to another company site when the original person called in sick on Friday, but that was the only interesting thing. I wrote more for my fanfic, but haven’t finished even 7 chapters yet, so 10 is still a way off.

For more anime I’m watching this season, there’s Scooped Up By an S-Rank Adventurer. It’s about Lloyd, a white mage who was trained in a forest by his master to be better than everyone at his craft (but he doesn’t know it). He leaves and ends up in the hero’s party, only to be kicked out when they have success (not knowing that it was his help that made it so, like the normal cliché). He’s picked up by an S-Rank party and they marvel at what he can do. It’s cliché, but fun none the less. I’ve read the manga to where it is currently and I don’t think the anime is going to catch up this season.

Finally, the last of the main ones I’m watching this season is Lord of Mysteries. It’s a Chinese anime and I’m not really used to hearing Chinese, but it’s fine. I’ve read the manhua for it, but it ended after 65 chapters and I haven’t gotten around to reading the webnovel (that is finished). The anime is visually great, but the pacing isn’t great at first. They really rush the first part, not really explaining anything and now have to have little shorts to explain things a Mysticism class and a chibi shorts. It’s about Zhou from China, who does a luck enhancement ritual and ends up in another world in the body of Klein Moretti who just committed suicide. He has to find out how to return home, while becoming and dealing with Beyonders with unimaginable power. It’s fun, but keep in mind my warnings and watch the shorts.

I haven’t changed much in my listening since last week. I finished Ataraxia by a1lvera5hley and decided to listen to Back to the Beginning by Aliandris that I talked about last week. I’ve also finished Reincarnated as a Sword vol 12 and Reborn as a Space Mercenary: I Woke Up Piloting the Strongest Starship vol 12 came out on Audible so I’m almost finished listening to it.

Onto the quest, the first one is Be Prepared by Phatom1s. It’s a Harry Potter fanfic where Dumbledore decides to help Harry and screw the vow with the ministry to not have an apprentice (only in this story) after 5th year. Harry becomes Lord Gryffindor and gets together with Ginny. It moves fast and is more unrealistic then a lot of other fics. Also rated M for a reason. [*Content Warning*] There is underage (14 and 15 year olds) and explicit lemons and limes. Don’t Like, Don’t Read. [*Content Warning*]. It’s actually complete!

The second one is Beautiful Mess by Breanie. It’s a Harry Potter one-shot song-fic. For those who don’t know what a song fic is, it’s a fic where the lyrics are in the story and describe or affect the story. This one has Beautiful Mess by Diamond Rio (a country song) as the main focus. It’s about Harry after the war and how his love for Ginny makes him a little crazy, but it’s worth it.

The third one is Because of the War by AStandupPhilosopher. This one is a Worm and XCOM 2 crossover. It’s based on the 3 chapters in Seerking’s Asylum for Plot Bunnies that Won’t Stop Bugging Me that are titled Survive, Adapt, Win. The first one is chapter 43, the second is chapter 54 and the third is chapter 101. Taylor triggers early with the power to have a mental XCOM base and summon combatants from it. She is the Commander and will fix her city. Has a redeemed Sophia and Emma and even saves Canary from her fate beforehand. It says it’s Taylor/Amy, but I don’t think they’ve interacted much in the 17 chapters that are available. It hasn’t updated since Jul 2024, but the author is still posting, just focusing on other fics (that I haven’t read).

After that is Becoming a Man Among Men by Dragon6. It’s a Ranma ½ fic where Ranma finds Genma’s journal and learns about his fiancées and the Man Among Men promise. This changes things as he refuses to go along with the Tendo engagement knowing about the other ones. He decides become a Man Among Men his own way. It’s incomplete and has 45 chapters. It was updated in 2020 and the author said they’d be back, but obviously hasn’t yet.

Then is Becoming Lífþrasir by Midoriko-sama. It’s a How to Train Your Dragon fic. Hiccup actually leaves as Astrid doesn’t find him and things change. Fast forward a few years and Beck decides to go and find the Nest again. It’s up to Hiccup and his dragon rider friends to save them. It’s Hiccup/Astrid and it’s complete with a sequel.

Finally there’s Befriending Sword by sakurademonalchemist. It’s a Fate/Stay Night and Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha crossover. I’ve talked about it before here.

I got an Eternatus in PoGo and apparently, they’re raising the upper level from 50 to 80 in October. That’ll be fun. Finally bought a Switch 2 and it’ll get in soon. I don’t have any specific games for it yet, but it’s in prep for Pokémon Legends Z-A. As always, May Your Heart Be Your Guiding Key!

Finishing the After-quest and a Black Sky Week (With a New Side Story)

Hello readers! It’s once again time for a post! You read correctly I finished the last of the compilation fics and there are no more stories or chapters from sakurademonalchemist that I haven’t read! I mostly read more Desperately Seeking Ranma and Ashes of the Past (I’m finally getting back to rereading it to catch up). The new chapters this week were: Relic of the Future, Another Solider Reporting (Sat, Mon, Tues x2, Wed x2, Thurs), The Unseen Hunt, Black Sky (Mon, Tues, Wed, Thurs & Fri), Mauling Snarks (Mon & Fri), Corpse Cleaner (Mon, Tues, Wed, Thurs, Fri), Dawn of Magic (Mon, Tues, Wed, Thurs, Fri), Campione of the Raging Tides, History Strongest Disciple Again?, Mending the Knots, Heroes Assemble!, Taylor Varga, Marvel’s Maelstrom, Titanfall, Gorgon and Thanatos and Kingdom Drabbles.

I’ll finish the after-quest stories first, Short Story Drabbles is the Harry Potter compilation fic. It has 227 chapters. The new stories it’s crossovered with are Hollows (a manga), Magico (a novel series), Dragon Kishidan (a manga/Anime), Little Pet Shop of Horrors (an anime and manga) and Numb3rs (an American TV series about a mathematician who helps his FBI brother).

Famgilia Drabbles is the KHR compilation fic. The new stories it’s crossovered with are Beauty and Beast (please watch a version of this if you haven’t already), Mouse (an older manga about a phantom thief), Stitch (a Movie and series about a alien experiment that lands on Earth) and Katana (a manga about a forger who can see the true form of the swords).

Stories of Fate is the Fate/Stay Night compilation fic (and the last one!). There are no new stories in the 39 chapters (because most of them have already been made into full stories). The crossovers from the non-full story chapters are: Fullmetal Alchemist, Pokémon, Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha, Rising of the Shield Hero and Harry Potter.

When Empires Collide by Nemesis13 is a Star Wars and Code Geass crossover. Before the Zero Requiem, the Empire invades the Earth. The world unites to fight them and become a thorn in the Empire’s side. Nunnally ends up on Tatooine and befriends Luke. It’s a fun story, but not long and updated irregularly (was just updated).

Yesterday’s Tomorrow by Umei no Mai is a KHR (maybe Harry Potter later) fic that’s a companion fic to Black Sky. In Black Sky, Tsuna and friends were sent to the future, but didn’t go back soon after like they were supposed to. Tsuna can tell that this isn’t really the future as he knows he isn’t the Tenth Boss. Watch as he tries to find a way home while annoyed at his ‘future self’.

That’s it for this week, but at least I won’t mention sakurademonalchemist unless they post a new fic. Oh also, for those who didn’t know, KH3 now has a Critial Mode DLC. If you play it, prepare to die (that’s all I know as I haven’t played that one yet). Next week I’ll have seen Avengers: Endgame so be prepared for my thought on it! See you then and May Your Heart Be Your Guiding Key!
