I Have an Archive Now

Friday

So, like I mentioned last post, I made an archive for my posts. A link to it can be found on the menu at the top of the main blog. It is separated into months for now, but I will be working on it so that it will be better accessible. I read some more God Slaying Blade Works, but mainly focused on Desperately Seeking Ranma. The only new chapter for today was from Mauling Snarks.

Because I was busy with life, I didn’t read much else today. Therefore, I’ll talk about Shokugeki no Soma (or as the American’s have renamed it, Food Wars!). It’s about Soma Yukihara, a teenager who loves cooking and wants to surpass his father and take over the family restaurant. However, when his father leaves to travel the world, he sends his son to an elite culinary school called, Totsuki Saryo Culinary Institute. They only take the best and he does get in, but the school has an interesting practice, Shokugeki (or Food War). It’s a contest between people where both sides put have agreed to something happening if they lose (like giving the other person their position of power within the academy or agreeing to let a club continue instead of disbanding it). Watch how Soma and his friends learn more about how to cook while dealing with the challenges in their way. It’s fun and I need to catch up on it. It started off as a manga, but now has 3 anime seasons.

Nothing more today, so I’ll end this part here.

Saturday

I read a bit more God Slaying Blade Works, but again was mostly Desperately Seeking Ranma. The new chapters for today were: Stand Together and Smile (the last one of this story, with a maybe sequel in the future), Relic of the Future, Ashes to Flame, Stark Imprint and Heroes Assemble! I didn’t read much else, but I did watch parts of a few animes.

The first one was the first half of the first season of Initial D. Initial D (for initial drift) is an anime/manga about street racing by Shuichi Shigeno. It’s about Takumi (Tak) Fujiwara, who has been delivering tofu from his dad’s shop to hotels and other places on the other side of the mountain nearby every day before sunrise. He has become very good at driving it with his father’s (unbeknownst to him) subtle training. This has led him to not care very much about driving or racing, to his friends at the gas station he works at horror. One of his friends is on the local street racing team, which is challenged to a downhill race. Upon hearing that Tak’s father was once a famous street racers, he is asked to do the race. He instead sends Tak in his Toyota Sprinter Trueno (AE86) with a promise that if he wins, he can take the car for a date with a full tank of gas. He wins, but then becomes more involved in the street-racing world.   It’s a good anime and manga. It’s finished now with 719 chapters in the manga, 5 anime seasons, three movies and several OVAs.

The second one was a few episodes of Gurren Lagann. Gurren Lagann is one of the best ‘manly’ mecha animes around. It’s about Simon and Kamina, two humans, who, like the rest of their species, are forced to live in underground villages in a dystopian future by the Spiral King, Lordgenome. They dream of going to the surface and eventually get the chance to with a mecha named Lagann and a hot girl named Yoko. They eventually form Gurren Lagann, a team to free the world of the rule of Lordgenome and the beast men. It’s got 27 episodes that will make you laugh and cry, along with make you want to shout, “Who the hell do you think I am!”

I also heard that someone stole the KHIII game from a shipping company and that’s they’re playing and selling copies. I’m not happy with that for multiple reasons, but I’m not gonna pay attention to any information that’s not verified from the makers. Looking forward to the last trailer on Tuesday though. That’s it for now; tomorrow’s only a line away!

Sunday

Today was once again full of Desperately Seeking Ranma, with maybe a chapter of God Slaying Blade Works. The new chapters today were: The Unseen Hunt, Prime Directive: Hero and Tsunami. I didn’t do much else except for watching someone play through to where the Japanese version of KHUx (KH Unchained x) is (about 35 ‘episodes’ ahead) and learned what Larxene’s real name is (but I’m not gonna say).

I also read a fanfiction by VFSNAKE called ‘Naruto of the Saiyans.’ It has Bardock ending up on the Kyubi’s back instead of dying and getting sealed into Naruto as well. He and the Kyubi work together to change Naruto into a Saiyan and their work comes together when Orochimaru seals Naruto’s seal in the Forest of Death. When his teammates leave him for dead, he comes back better than even and plans to never be a pawn again. It has eight chapters currently and is infrequently updated.

There are sexual situations, but no actual sex. This is currently limited to the omakes at the end of the chapters, but may come into the story itself later on.

Because I don’t have anything else, I’ll talk about Full Metal Panic! Full Metal Panic! is a light novel turned anime by Shoji Gatoh. It’s about a former child soldier, now a part of an anti-terrorist private military organization (Mithril), named Sousuke Sagara. He’s sent to Japan to protect a high school girl named Kaname Chidori, along with his teammates Kurz Weber and Melissa Mao. Why she’s being protected and who’s targeting her are unknowns to them.

Sousuke is sent to her school, but as he has never been in a ‘normal’ situation, he is considered a military nut and Kaname is very annoyed that he keeps trying to protect her. Eventually, the enemy attacks and everything is revealed, including the reason why bipedal machines even exist in a world that is not that different from our own. It’s a good series with 23 novels and 4 anime series (including one that’s just for silliness and is awesome called Fumoffu, the name is eventually explained).

Have a great day and I’ll see everyone when I post tomorrow!

Monday

Today was yet again full of Desperately Seeking Ranma, but the end is in sight. The new chapters for today were: Move On: Tales of Marinette & Adrien, Black Sky (there is going to be a full week of updates! Sqweee! [yes, I’m excited, so what?]), Mauling Snarks, Celestial Worm and Death March (Yay!). There was also the early release of the last KHIII trailer! Which can be found here – https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lz1w_uW3lSE.  There’s so much info and WTF in it, I don’t know what to think. Still looking forward to Jan 29th though.

I watched the first few episodes of Death Parade, but it’s not really catching my interest. I really like the opening theme, but the series just seems kinda meh to me. It’s about how if two people die at the same time, instead of just being judged, they are sent to Decim at the Quindecim bar to play a game to discover where their souls belong (reincarnation or the void). A female human with no name works as his assistant, learning how to judge human souls, while helping Decim learn how to read into the emotions behind the actions.

That’s a wrap for today, looking forward to posting on Thursday! I may take off for Christmas after that, but I don’t know yet. I’ll mention it next time if I decide to. See you then!
