So, here we are again. And wouldn’t you know it, it’s time for Matt talk about how great of week I’ve had, NOT. Work was fine on Monday. But on Tuesday, after a delivery I wouldn’t usually do, I got back to the office around mid-day and things started to go downhill, physically. I left work early and was out of commission the rest of that day and Wednesday. Thursday, things were starting to get better, but because I still hadn’t slept that well, I didn’t go back to work until today (Friday).
Well, Matt, was that the last of the problems this week? Nope, I keep my work phone with me at home, even though I don’t need to. One of things I do with it is keep track of emails in case I need to know something. So, Wednesday, I finally saw that the previously mentioned person who got the job over me had officially left the position. I was happy and thought that maybe once I was better that I would be approached to see if I still wanted the position. That was dashed on Thursday as one of the emails that day was someone getting that position.
I wasn’t happy about that as no-one has even reached out and said, hey sorry, you weren’t even second choice even though we know you can do the work. I honestly think someone is intentionally keeping me in my position. Or maybe that they only want women in that position as all three have been, but I’d rather not think like that. It’s not like I didn’t do their work most of the previous week and that the coming month is the most strenuous for that position and the two above it, absolutely the worst time to be teaching someone the position. They don’t even start for another 2 and half weeks.
I don’t even know if this person leaves and they offer me the position as third choice, if I’ll even take the position because it just seems rude to me. I even know my supervisor is going to be off for two months coming up. If I didn’t know better, I would say he’s planning on retiring and wants to use some of the time he can’t get paid for before he leaves. Of course, if something like that was happening, you would think that someone would tell the de-facto second in command (not that he would ever call me that) so that they could learn to do some of his duties, even if it was to teach their replacement. But there’s been nothing.
If so, the secrecy of the whole organization is to blame (well in the case of my supervisor, he just doesn’t like to tell us things if he can help it). Like the fact that a position can’t be officially put up for application until it’s been officially announced that the person is leaving. And if that means that the person is a higher-level position and they’re leaving in a month, if you don’t have someone in position within that time, those below and above them have to do their work. If it’s a completely new person, then those around have to teach them rather than the previous person teaching the new person, even when someone is just retiring. Sometimes, they come back part-time to help teach, but it doesn’t seem reasonable.
Moving on from this page long rant on my week and work, here’s the changes in what I’m listening to. I just finished My Hero School Adventure is All Wrong, As Expected on my way home from work and I’m going to start on My Heroic Drabbles by sakurademonalchemist. If you know of this author’s other drabble fics, then you’ll know it’s a bunch of stories with only a chapter or two that the author wrote with crossovers (or not) with one story in common, which is in case, My Hero Academia. I haven’t listened in a while so next time I’ll talk about which other stories they crossover with and if any really stick out.
Otherwise, I’ve moved onto volume 11 of Reincarnated as a Sword on Audible. Fran goes back to her country to meet up with a friend, but things don’t just work out for her and Teacher, do they? They find themselves in a conspiracy and save the city and find their friend. I’m still on seventeen of Death March to the Parallel World Rhapsody. The events are still generally the same, but they’ve still changed the bad guys slightly so the MC can interact with them early but not figure out that they’re the bad guy.
The quest is next, first is, An Angel and a Trickster by sakurademonalchemist. It’s a Harry Potter and Supernatural crossover with a fem. Harry and Loki. I’ve talked about it before here. It’s only 11 chapters and hasn’t updated since 2014.
Second is, An Impossible Task by ashthephoenix. It’s a My Hero Academia fic. In it, at the beginning of the year, UA gives a ‘Hell Test’ that is next to impossible to get much of score on, let alone pass. Izuku, who has been fudging his tests to not get in trouble, makes a mistake in even barely passing the test and catches Nezu’s attention. What secrets will be found? Not many, because it only has 7 chapters and hasn’t updated in three years. Still an interesting premise.
Third is, An Unexpected Christmas Miracle by goodtobealunatic. This is a Doctor Who fic where the 10th Doctor takes Rose Tyler to Noel, a planet where they celebrate Christmas every day. They have all sorts of couple-y fun. It’s the first of the Stars Aligned Series, where Rose doesn’t get forced into another reality. I’ve talked about it before, here. The author changed their name from batistangel15.
After that is, Anakin’s Puzzle by White Angel of Auralon. It’s a Star Wars short story were Anakin uses his head. He sees a lot of inconsistencies and decides to take some time to figure it out. He does and this is how he deals with the issue. An amusing slight fix it fic.
Following that is, Analytics by Jurodan. It’s a MHA fic where Izuku uses his analytical abilities to help his classmates with their quirks. First is Sato where they test which sugars work best for what things. Things go on in that vein. Sadly, only has 7 chapters and is incomplete.
There are two follow on stories, first is Analytics Sidestories by Jurodan. It’s just the continuation of two chapters with things that weren’t important to the main story, but the author wanted to write. Second is Analytics: White Papers by Jurodan. It’s Valentines and all the guys get white papers with ideas to help them with the girls they’re interested in. Complete as it’s only meant to be a single chapter.
Then is And Why the Hell Not by ack1308. It’s an amusing Worm one-shot. Basically, what would happen if the Undersiders used their powers legally. That’s it.
The next fic is a sequel, so the first fic is, Jade Angel by sakurademonalchemist. It’s another fem Harry Potter (Jade) and Supernatural crossover. I’ve talked about it before here. It’s sequel, Angel Avengers by sakurademonalchemist, follows Jade and her family to MCU to fix things. I’ve talked about it before here. The second one is sadly incomplete and hasn’t been updated since 2015.
After that’s Angel’s Horn by sakurademonalchemist. It’s a Magical Nanoha and Supernatural crossover. I’ve talked about it here. It also hasn’t been updated since 2014. Then is Angels Among Us by sakurademonalchemist. It’s a Supernatural and Ghost Rider crossover. I’ve talked about it before here. Another 2014.
Another sakurademonalchemist story is next – Angels and Demons. It’s a FF7 and HP crossover where fem. Harry was summoned from FF7. I’ve talked about it before here. It has 13 chapters and hasn’t updated since 2019.
Next to last we’re away from that author for a second – Angry Harry and the Seven by Sinyk. I only recently re-mentioned this one as I’m almost finished relistening to it, but here is the link to me originally talking about it. Finally, back to sakurademonalchemist is Angry, Angry Wizards. It’s a HP and Sekirei crossover. I’ve talked about it before here. Still 5 chapters and hasn’t updated since 2016.
That’s it, because I haven’t had much time to read, since I’ve been sick and not really wanting to do anything. I hope you’ve had a better week than me and as always. May Your Heart Be Your Guiding Key!
