Happy Late Christmas

Hello, readers! Sorry this is late, with traveling it’s been a bit hectic. I hope you all had a great holiday, whatever one you celebrate. Mine was fine, but weird because I didn’t open anything on Christmas Day. This was because I did most last week (because we didn’t want to bring presents for ourselves with us) and because we opened with the extended family the night before because of extended family drama (that’s not mine, so I’m not going to post it here). I even opened some on Saturday because some of the family didn’t get in until after Christmas. Had some family health issues, but it’s not bad and is being worked through. I also reached my reading goal for the end of the year Saturday and reached the Th’s on my list.

The only change in my listening was that I finished By The Grace of the Gods Vol 6 and am now listening to That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime Vol 3. Rimuru has to deal with the aftermath of the Orc Lord and his new kingdom. However, new allies and foes including some of the demon lords are starting to have an interest in his new kingdom. How will he deal with it? This will probably be the last book I listen to for this one as it is on the list and I’m rapidly getting to it, so will probably just read the rest of the ones that are out.

Just because it was the only one I finished doesn’t mean I haven’t been listening to a lot, just that the others are longer and they’re not finished yet (at least one is very close though). I actually listened to a lot while I was playing Pokémon: Legends Z-A as I had a lot of free time during the week. I’m still 2 Pokémon away from completing the DLC Pokédex (1 special scan legendary and trading a Feebas), but I’ve made good progress on completing the DLC Alpha Pokédex as well (including the regional variants [not including the Hisuian ones as I already have them]).

Onto the quest; first is Death March Part 1- 17. This is the web novel version. I’ve only read through Part 17 as that’s when the main story ends, but I’ll read Part 18 sometime after I finish the list. The main change early between this and the light novels on is that Nana is the only one of her sisters that survive. More changes are there, but I’ve talked about that on earlier posts. Huh, I just found out that there’s even more than on this website that I’ll have to look into later as it ends on 18-39 and I figured there were more and found them. There’s even a what if chapter 19 apparently.

Second is Deku, I think he’s some pro… by Clouds (myheadinthecoudnotcomingdown). It’s a My Hero Academia fic that I mentioned recently on my listening to list here. A quick reminder: Izuku doesn’t get a quirk from All Might and decides to send hero analyses to underground heroes, and they help him become a hero.

Third is Demon Dragon Rider by Leaf Ranger. This one is weird crossover between the Inheritance Cycle series by Chistopher Paolini and Naruto. Eragon finds a Naruto who is thought to be dead during the training trip after an Oto-nin attacks. He trains him as a Rider and Naruto hides his identity. Hinata becomes an ice princess and meets him. Eventual Naru/Hina that’s actually finished.

Fourth is Demon Skylark by sakurademonalchemist. It’s a KHR and Naruto crossover that I’ve talked about before here. Kyouya is reborn as Naruto and changes things a lot. He eventually meets Fem Gaara when he runs away. It’s not very long with 8 chapters and it hasn’t been updated since 2019.

Fifth is Demonic Jewels by sakurademonalchemist. It’s a KHR AU that I’ve talked about before here. Fem. Tsuna (Honoka) is attending an academy for summoners and is assigned to be Hibari’s roommate. Watch as she tries to be the best summoner she can. It has 15 chapters and sadly hasn’t been updated since 2018.

Sixth and last is Desperate by Epeefencer. This is a Harry Potter one-shot set in the summer after fourth year. Arthur Weasley sees Harry’s despair when he visits him because his children are worried about him (they’re not at Sirius’ house). He realizes that he needs to get him out and works to do that. It’s an eventual Harry/Ginny story and worth a read.

I hope everyone has a Happy New Year and you follow your resolutions if you make them. I’m still working on it and how far I hope to get in this quest. I haven’t calculated if I think I can finish it yet. As always, May Your Heart Be Your Guiding Key!

Lack of Sleep is Not Fun

Hello, readers! Sorry, this is late (I wrote quite a bit on Monday, but even the listen to part was really long), I went to sleep early on Sunday to make sure I got enough for what I needed to do Monday. Or rather, what I thought was Monday, it’s really Tuesday and all the prep I did for it was for naught because I forgot to check the date, so I have to prepare again. It’s fine, I hope I get better sleep (I did a little bit better and managed to make the appointment).

This isn’t even counting that I tried to do this last week and my sleep was so bad I barely made it through the workday (and obviously canceled). However, I finished the main story for the Pokémon Legends Z-A DCL and just have to catch the last legendries and the other Pokémon I don’t have yet. Then I go DCL alpha hunting.

So, what I’m listening to, it’s changed quite a bit, or rather one has. I finished Nozomi of the Sand by sakurademonalchemist. Then I decided to listen to The Quiet Fox by TheBeardedOne. It’s a Naruto fic that’s a little different than others. Other than in-between chapters set in the current time, most of the story is told from one character’s perspective. No character is repeated and this makes it interesting. Naruto saves Hinata from getting kidnapped by making the mob chasing him think the kidnapper is trying to help him. They then end up at the Namikaze estate. It’s an interesting story and even finished!

When that one was finished I started listening to where I’m at currently with Naruto: Rise of the West by azndrgn. It’s a fic based on the Emperor Naruto of the West challenge from a while back. In the challenge – Naruto is kicked out of Konoha after the Sasuke Retrieval Arc. Hinata eventually becomes his Empress, typically leaving with him. They go to West, where they unite it as they are waring. Years later, Konoha is in a bad spot and go to them for help unknowing that Naruto is Emperor. There are also typically many characters from other stories that are part of the West.

In this one, Tsunade is forced to exile him (there are ones where she agrees) and Hinata, Neji, Tenten, Konohamaru and Hanabi follow him. They are almost captured either by Itachi and Kisame or Root agents. They’re saved by Yusuke (from Yu Yu Hakusho) and they follow him to the West (with Itachi and Kisame who voluntarily leave Akatsuki). All the villages are approached many years later to compete in several tournaments in the West. All agree. This fic is completed with 20 chapters.

I also finished In Another World With My Smartphone Vol 3 like, last week, I think? I then listened That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime Vol 2. In it Rimuru meets some new friends and ends up in a battle for the forest. We also get some insight into some characters that will eventually have relevance.

After I finished that one earlier this week, I started listening to By The Grace of the Gods Vol 6. Ryoma participates in an adventurer training camp as a teacher and teaches quite a bit. After that he scares the participants with his battle prowess. Then he manages to save a man who was attacked by bandits, all while getting some new slimes!

As I mentioned I finished Broken Dreams by ThunderReborn last week, I then listened to Breaking the Sky by sakurademonalchemist. It’s a Dragon Drive and KHR crossover that I’ve talked about before here. Fem Tsuna gets into Dragon Drive and gets a special box to manifest her dragon Sora into the real world. She shouldn’t have been able to and certain people are trying to find her because of it. It’s only got 11 chapters and is obviously unfinished. After I finished that I started Crushing on a Devil by TanJaded. I mentioned it last week so I won’t go over it again.

Onto the quest, first is Dark Evangel’s Final Task by fg7dragon. This is a Negima! Magister Negi Magi and Harry Potter crossover. Evangeline A.K. McDowell tries to finally kill herself hundreds of years after the end of the Negima! manga. She finds that she can’t and meets Death, who gives her a task to do and then he will make sure she dies. What is that task, but live in and help shape Harry and make sure he destroys one of the Deathly Hallows so they aren’t united. She can’t actually contact him before he’s fourteen, but that doesn’t mean she isn’t doing things. It’s a fun little fic, but it’s sadly incomplete with 9 (actual) chapters and hasn’t been updated since 2012.

Second is Dark Knights by TheBeardedOne. This is a DC Comics story where Clark is found by the Waynes and is raised as Bruce’s brother. When Bruce becomes Batman, Clark becomes Nightwing. It’s got 13 chapters and is finished. It even has a sequel that intersects with another of the author’s fics that is later on the list.

Third is Dark Phoenix of Konoha by White Angel of Auralon. It’s a Naruto fic I’ve talked about before here. I’ve even mentioned listening to it recently. It’s a Naruto trains in secret and is more badass than normal. Sadly incomplete.

Fourth is Darth Vader: Hero of Naboo by AkumaKami64. It’s a Star Wars story, that I apparently only mentioned when I got updates and didn’t talk about the story. So Vader is sent back in time while chasing the Millennium Falcon in Episode 5. He finds himself back on Naboo during the invasion in Episode 1. He determines he’ll change things to go his way. However, he’s not the only one who’s in the past. It’s finished and has a sequel that is currently updating.

The fifth and final is Daughter of Flame by sakurademonalchemist. It’s a Harry Potter and Fullmetal Alchemist crossover I’ve talked about before here. In it Fem Harry is actually Roy’s daughter and goes through the Gate to meet him after her fourth year. There she travels with Ed and Al to eventually meet her dad. It’s got 14 chapters and is obviously unfinished with no updates since 2015.

Well, this took a while. Hopefully things are going well with y’all with the Holidays coming up. I’m planning on making sure I relax and maybe reach my quest goal by the end of the year (in case you forgot it’s reaching the Th stories in my side stories). I might be able to finish my final main S story, but who knows. It really depends on how much I read between now and then. I only have 5ish cycles before I reach a Th story, but I have over 10 to finish the S one. Anyway, as always, May Your Heart Be Your Guiding Key!

Happy Belated Thanksgiving!

Hello, everyone! I hope everyone who celebrates Thanksgiving had a great one! Mine was fine, I had to do a lot of work during a church service because of system issues, but we think we’ve figured it out (I hope {We did!}). They announced who got the upper-level position at work but haven’t put lower-level job up to apply to. Hopefully, it’ll happen soon, but you never know.

So, I’ll talk a bit about the Dungeon Crawler Carl book that I mentioned last time. Carl was chasing his ex-girlfriend’s prized cat (Princess Donut [insert long name I’m not going to repeat]) at night, outside in a blizzard without pants, when the apocalypse came. Aliens flattened all structures and anything that had a ‘roof’. They then announced to the survivors that they had to either live with what was left or join a dungeon crawling game to try and win the planet back. Carl grabbed Donut and bolted to an entrance to survive. He didn’t expect for Donut to gain sapience. Now he has to go through the Dungeon without pants and with a ‘royal’ cat. His most common phrase is “Dammit, Donut.” It’s worth a read and is part of a series.

So, changes to what I’m listening to – I rushed through Yet again, with a little extra help by Third Fang. This is because of what I mentioned about its sequel being next on the list. I read the one right behind it, but I managed to finish and am now reading the sequel. I don’t have its replacement yet, so I’ll mention it next week.

Because of that, I only finished The Echo Ranger by Xavon Wrentaile and that only because I hadn’t read past the 22 chapter. I’m now almost finished catching up to it’s current chapter, 29. The next one I’m listening to is A Hero Rises by Zabeck. It’s a My Hero Academia fic that I’ve mentioned before in the quest here. It’s a longer fic, but I’ll remind people. [*A warning, this has explicit sex scenes, don’t read if you’re underage or aren’t interested*] It’s an Izuku/Himiko/1-A girls fic, just so you’re forwarded.

Onto the quest, first is Constellations by UnwelcomeStorm. This is a Worm and Okami games crossover. Taylor first meets Amaterasu in her great wolf form when she’s lost in the forest at summer camp when she’s young. Taylor names her Sunshine (Sunny) and they meet up irregularly. After her mom dies and she’s alone, Sunny comes saves her flute. After an odd sequence of events, including accidentally convincing Oni Lee that she’s a Miko; she and Sunny end up fixing up an abandoned shrine. It’s an amusing fic and Danny’s even a cape in this one. It has 54 chapters, but hasn’t been updated since 2021.

Second is Contractual Obligation: How Visha Secured her Position as Adjutant for Life by TanJaded. This is a Youjo Senki (which is finally getting a second season next year) short fic. After years, the war is finally over and the 203rd is back in the capital. Tanya (who’s 18 by now) tells Visha that she won’t be her adjutant forever. Visha decides she doesn’t like that and looks into how she can be her adjutant for life. This leads her an interesting document that means she can take care of Tanya for life. The only thing is getting her to sign it. (And yes, I’m referring to getting married). It’s amusing little finished fic.

Third is Coping Mechanisms by sakurademonalchemist. It’s a KHR fic I’ve mention before here. Tsuna finds out that his mother is more lucid when he’s dressed up as a girl, so he decides to do it more. He’s found out and is helped by Hibari, as long as he helps keeps the girls away. Then Fon breaks the seal, and they really can switch genders. It has 8 chapters and is of course, unfinished since 2017.

Fourth is Corpse Cleaner by also by sakurademonalchemist. It also another KHR fic I’ve mentioned before here. Tsuna is a corpse cleaner in Italy at a young age. He gets along well with the Varia and they helped him to find his grandmother. How will the Vongola deal with a former cleaner as their heir? You’ll barely find out here, because it only has 7 chapters and hasn’t updated since 2019.

Fifth is later in a series, so the first one is The Winged Lord and Lady of the Skies by LilyannaSpiritOfTheCheetah. This one is a Mighty Morphin Power Ranger fic with Tommy/Kimberly. [Warning there is rape and noncon sex scenes] While Tommy is under the evil spell, he kidnaps Kim. He does somethings he wouldn’t normally do and they become more connected then normal. They also have a kid. It goes through Turbo.

Next in the series is the actual next one for the quest, Countdown to Destruction. Tommy, Kim and the other rangers are contacted by the Space Rangers about an attack coming to Earth. Will things go the same way as in the show? Read this one-shot to find out.

Sixth and finally is Crimson Typhoon by sakurademonalchemist. It’s a Naruto and One Piece crossover that I’ve mentioned before here. Shanks is Kushina’s father and comes for fem. Naruto. She joins his crew and changes things up. It has 8 chapters and is hasn’t been updated since 2014.

I’m getting things ready for Christmas, and I have a recital coming up, but things are normal other than that. So, as always, May Your Heart Be Your Guiding Key!

Links Can Make You Late (and not the Zelda ones)

Hello, readers! I’m sorry this is two days late, but it’s because I forgot to get the links for the quest early and I had to do it on Sunday. I wrote most of this before the quest parts on Sunday, but I needed to sleep. Then I had a night meeting on Monday and couldn’t finish this until today. Onto your normal Matt blabber –

It’s been a normal-ish week, but I did finally get the shiny charm in Pokémon: Legends Z-A. So – I’m getting back to Digimon: Time Stranger to finish it up. More time travel for me and saving Digimon! And learning that the origin you thought you knew for your character is a lie, yay!

[Spoilers]

I mean, the hints were there from near the beginning that your origin story might have been made up. The human characters commonly say that your outfit reminds them of the anime “Agent Alpha”. It turns out that you are just a ‘dark shadow’ a remnant of Aegiomon who tried and failed to save Inori and wanted to have their backstory based on the anime her brother loved. Homeostasis, the ‘God’, of the world you’re in creates you to try and fix your own mistakes. We don’t know how the original timeline went, but we’re created to loop through and save Digimon that would have died to allow us to finally move time forward.

There’s more I could say, but I’m not finished with the game yet. I’m doing all the side quests and will probably try and get all the Digimon before the game ends. Will I end up doing a new game +? Not unless there is a good reason to. Like if I learn that there is more content that way, then sure, but otherwise I’ll put it to the side in favor of something like getting all the Alphas in the Pokémon Legends games or continuing the grind to 100.

As for changes in what I’m listening to, I finished In Another World With My Smartphone Vol 2 and decided to start That Time I Was Reincarnated as a Slime Vol 1 by FUSE. I chose this one because it’s on my list, but I wanted to listen as far as I can before I get there. I’ve read the manga and watched some of the anime, so I should be able to at least get to the last of the audio books, which is 5 currently.

For an explanation, Satou Mikami is killed by a robber defending co-workers. He’s reincarnated as a slime, but with special powers chosen by his thoughts when dying. There he meets one of the great Dragons, Veldora, who is trapped. They become friends and Satou is renamed as Rimuru Tempest, while Veldora gets the last name Tempest as well. Rimuru ‘eats’ Veldora to try and help free him and decides to go on an adventure while it’s working. Follow him as he meets new friends and enemies!

I also finished a fic I now realize I didn’t mention on here when I started it, Harry Potter and Artificer Legacy by Kairomaru. This is a fic where the Dursley’s didn’t treat Harry badly and in fact allow him to go to crafting camp and learn different crafts. This and Harry discovering his mom’s trunk by accident, leads to Harry crafting magical objects before he goes to Hogwarts. Harry ends up together with Penelope (Clearwater, you know Percy’s girlfriend from books 2-3), Tonks and Fleur. [Content Warning] There is sex and sexual situations in it, some with an underage Harry (starting at 14). Don’t like, don’t read. [Content Warning] This is not complete, but it has 85 chapters and it’s still being updated.

Onto what I’m actually listening to now is, Ginny Returns by kb0. It’s a Harry Potter time travel fic, where Ginny is the one going back in time. The war ends badly, and Ginny and a crippled Hermione are the only ones left. Ginny goes back in time to change the future for the better and ends up before her first year. How will things go? And will she and Harry still end up together? Find out in this finished fic!

I also finished Collector Hero: Synthesis by Kairomaru. I decided to listen to Deku? I think he’s some pro… by Clouds (myheadinthecoudsnotcomingdown). It’s actually the first of the For The Want of a Nail series by this author I mentioned last time. In it, (after he’s rejected by All Might) Izuku decides to send his analysis of certain underground heroes to them on a secret hero forum that he’s figured out the identities of the users. This leads them to think he’s a old pro, they ask for his hero name and after a bad day, tells them it’s Deku. Watch Izuku as he trains to become the first quirkless hero, no matter who says it’s impossible. This one is actually finished!

Now, onto the quest, first is Choices by Epeefencer. This is a Harry Potter one-shot. Harry and Ginny are married, and Ginny is worried about Harry being an Auror. This is compounded when she gets notice that he was injured again. They have a frank discussion on her concerns. It’s an interesting little fic and even has at least one sequel.

Second is Christmas Gifts by DukeBrymin. It’s a Harry Potter short fic with four chapters. In it, Harry and Ginny are very busy with being an Auror and a Quidditch player. They rarely see each other and leave notes. So, they decide to do something about it. (And yes, I know that the two topics are very similar, but it’s just a coincidence.) It’s also complete!

Third is Christmas Wishes by Epeefencer. This one is a Harry Potter two-shot song fic. The song is I’ll Be Home For Christmas and it’s set during the 7th book. Harry and Ginny write letters to each other for Christmas and Kreacher helps get them to each other. A cute little story.

Fourth is Chunin Exam Day by Perfect Lionheart. This was a popular Naruto fic, but it’s been inactive since 2010. It’s one of the first loop fics based on the concept from Groundhog Day. Naruto goes to sleep after the invasion on the last of the chunin exam and wakes up on the first day of the exam again. He doesn’t understand how it happened, but unless he advances in the exam, he wakes up on the first exam again. He learns who really believes in him and starts to become a really serious ninja, if only to actually get out of the loops. It has 77 chapters, but it becomes a slog after a while. It’s worth a read, but I wouldn’t expect it to ever be finished even if the author has updated one of their fics for the first time recently.

Fifth is Chunin Exam Sabotage by White Angel of Auralon. This is a Naruto one shot. The Third Hokage gets Naruto a secret teacher after he becomes genin to help him catch up. He becomes stronger and is give a task before the chunin exam, sabotage those who aren’t ready for the exam, including his own team. He uses all his skills to do this. You’ll be very surprised on who his teacher is. An interesting read.

Sixth is Closest Encounters by Captain Compass. This is a side story to the Honestly Harry fics I’ve talked about before. It’s several little stories between Harry, Hermione and Ginny from the first story through third year. [Content Warning] There are sexual scenes in the fic between underage characters. However, they are magically grown up and married in them. Don’t like, don’t read. [Content Warning] There are five chapters and it’s probably finished because the main story is complete.

Seventh and final one today is Cloudy, with a Chance of Freedom by sakurademonalchemist. It’s a Harry Potter and Katekyo Hitman Reborn crossover that I’ve talked about before here. In it, after Skull de Mort dies in the Future Arc, he wakes up in his seven-year-old body as Harry Potter. He decides to change things and sets the original timeline on its head. Hogwarts isn’t ready for Skull de Mort and maybe he can even meet and help his fellow Arcabaleno. It’s one of this author’s longer fics with 41 chaps (I know I said 42 in by previous post, but that was wrong I guess), but it’s not finished and was last updated in 2018.

In the mentioned meeting yesterday, I was elected to an important role in the church. However, it shouldn’t be as time consuming as the other main role I was almost elected to or even the one I’m in now. That’s all from me and as always – May Your Heart Be Your Guiding Key!

Mainly Done with Z-A

Hello again, readers. It’s been another week focused on completing Pokémon: Legends Z-A. I have now completed both the regular and Mega Pokédex (I even got the one from the ranked battles) and will begin working on the Alpha dex (not a real thing, but it’s what I call it). I had a long drive for work on Friday, but other than that it’s been a fairly normal week.

So, what I’ve been listening to. Last week I finished In Another World With My Smartphone Vol 1 and started A Tale of the Secret Saint Vol 1 by Touya. I’ve read the manga for this, but it’s my first time listening to or read in the light novel. In it, a knight’s daughter, Fia, wants to be a knight herself even though she doesn’t have the build for it. She decides to go through the coming-of-age ceremony and in helping a hurt disguised dragon, ends up almost dying. This awakens her previous life’s memory as the Great Saint. However, in that life she was abandoned by her family and tortured by the demon king’s right-hand man. To make sure she’s not killed for being a saint again, she and her new dragon familiar will work to hide it and become a knight. However, she doesn’t really have much common sense. How will things end up for the secret saint?

I finished that one this week and am most of the way through By the Grace of the Gods Vol 3. In this one, Ryoma is working to get his laundromat up and spending time with the Duke’s family before they leave. He also learns more about taming and gets a few new slimes. What’s in store for our lovable protagonist? What are the Gods doing? And what about those who he knew in his last life? Find this and more in this one.

Next, I finished One for All and Eight for the Ninth by griffinguy24 and decided to start Collector Hero: Synthesis by Kairomaru. It’s another My Hero Academia fanfic, with a twist! Izuku is told he has a quirk, but it takes a few years to find out what it is. Turns out he can permanently copy quirks, but not mutant ones. He’s still looked down on by his middle school peers, but he looks forward to UA. How will this affect him and others around him? It’s got 52 chapters and is still being updated periodically.

I also finished Fyre, Fyre, Burning Skitter by mp3.1415player and chose to reread Mauling Snarks by CmptrWz. It’s a Worm fic where Tayor gets a different power in the locker. I talked about this one early on the blog, here. She gets the power to project blunt objects and to sense and communicate with snarks (her powers word for powers). This and the fact that her Uncle Jacob who came to visit the day of the locker is Jack Slash changes things drastically. However, things aren’t always as they seem. Find out in this long completed fic!

And now, the quest continues! First is Champion of Ouranos by sakurademonalchemist. This is a Katekyo Hitman Reborn and Sailor Moon crossover. Fem Tsuna (Tsubasa) finds herself back in her younger bod. She deals with her father and the Ninth don and changes things to no longer be with her mother, but with her maternal grandparents. She changes her name to Haruka Tenoh and ends up at school with Michiru. She eventually finds out that she may be repeating time because she was a sailor senshi and never knew. That doesn’t mean she’ll put up with the inner senshi without making them work for it. Sadly it only has seven chapters and hasn’t updated since 2021.

Second is Champion of the Chamber by White Angel of Auralon, the sequel to the one I mentioned last time. A smarter Harry is still changing things. How will this different Harry deal with the Chamber of Secrets opening? Sadly, we don’t know much because it only has eight chapters and hasn’t updated since 2014.

Third is Changed Past also by White Angel of Auralon. This is a Harry Potter one-shot I’ve talked about before here. Harry ends up in the past while chasing a criminal. He changes some things to help himself later. It’s interesting and worth a read.

Fourth is Changes by sakurademonalchemist. It’s a Harry Potter and Bleach crossover that I’ve talked about before here. Muramasa (a Zanpakuto from an anime only story) finds a baby Harry and takes him to the Kurosaki household. Now he’s Harry’s Zanpakuto, how will that change things? Wish we knew because it only has seven chapters and was last updated in 2012.

The Fifth and final for this week is Changes by kb0. It’s a Harry Potter two-shot. Harry goes through ‘Magical Maturity’ after his sixth year and Ginny ends up going through it with him when she tries to help. They end up sleeping together because of it and things are changed. It’s a fun little fic and worth a read.

That’s everything for this week. The only thing I want to mention is that I’ve finished chapter 8 of my fanfic and got a few pages into chapter 9. I want to post after I write chapter 10, but I haven’t heard back from my friend I asked to edit the first 7 chapters. Cleaning Can Make You Late!

Hello again, readers! Sorry, the post is a day late. It’s been a somewhat busy week. Work’s been middlingly busy and I’m still getting ready for a friend to come visit (this is the main reason it’s late). Rearranged my book collection to fit it in my bookshelves, though some went into storage for a bit. I guess five bookshelves with five shelves and three stacks of books on each shelf isn’t enough, oh well. Should probably read some of them so I can up them in storage if needed, or get rid of them? But that’s hard…

Anyway, listening to changes – I finished By the Grace of the Gods Vol 1 and got the new vol of Kuma Kuma Kuma Bear on Audible, Vol 4. In it, Yuna opens up a shop selling bread, pizza and other foods. However, it’s more than she thought to take care of it, so she has to deal with that. Also, she goes to a seaside town for seafood and finds it’s been taken over. What will she do?

I also finished Back to the Beginning by Aliandris and started One for All and Eight for the Ninth by griffinguy24. I know that the story is locked, so unless you have a AO3 account, you probably won’t be able to read it. It’s a My Hero Academia story where One for All reaches singularity before Izuku starts the UA exam, so he can hear the previous users from the start. They help him learn how to use his new quirk and slightly changes the exam. However, now he’s mentally linking with girls through the previous users. Where did this quirk come from and what can it do? Find out in the 78 chapters of this fic. It’s incomplete and hasn’t updated since February, but I have hope it will be completed!

I managed to learn that Boku no Hero Academia – Heroism and Villainy At Its Best has been taken down. However, I still have the link – https://m.fanfiction.net/s/13012070/1/Boku-No-Hero-Academia-Heroism-Villainy-At-Its-Best. And if you put it in https://fichub.net/ it will still give you the two chapter story. Apparently, it was written by EnderLance and based on his profile, he did a mass wipe of his stories. I don’t know why, but I’m glad I kept my copy!

So, onto the quest, first is Bolt From the Blue by Umei no Mai. It’s a Katekyo Hitman Reborn fic with a Self-Insert (SI) character, usually the author putting themselves into the story. In this one, a thirteen-year-old girl with messed up memories ends up meeting a young Xanxus. She ends up becoming his first Guardian and changes things. It’s a very interesting seven chapters and done as well!

Second is Bonds Across Time by sakurademonalchemist. This one is a KHR and InuYasha crossover I’ve talked about before here. It’s worth a read, but only has twelve chapters and is obviously incomplete.

Third is Books from the Future 1-6 by I honestly don’t remember. This is from the early days of Fanfiction, the original reading fics that had the actual book text in them (which is wrong, and illegal). I managed to save some of them before they were taken down and they were on the list so I reread them. This one has the HP books sent from the future to the Weasley family to read when Harry would be around 7ish. It starts off with just the Weasleys, but others join. What I have goes through the chapter “A Very Frosty Christmas” in Book 6 where the Minister uses Percy to talk to Harry. It’s a nostalgic read and middling of the ones I have, I have those that are better and definitely those that are worst.

Fourth is Breaking Point by Epeefencer. It’s a Harry Potter/Ginny Weasley two-shot. In it, Harry reaches his breaking point against Snape and his magic lashes out. Ginny is the only one who can get to him and help him calm down. It’s about the explosion and the aftermath. A nice little healing fic.

Fifth is Breaking the Gilded Cage by sakurademonalchemist. It’s a KHR and Natsume’s Book of Friends crossover that I first mentioned here. Fem Tsuna ends up back in time and decides to get away from the Vongola. She changes things and becomes Natsume and learns she’s also a descendent of the same family of Luce and takes the Sky Pacifier instead of Aria. It’s an interesting seventeen chapters but is incomplete as always.

Sixth is Bright as the Sun by sabertoothhousecat. It’s a MHA fic where Izuku doesn’t get All-For-One and instead becomes a support inventor. Uraraka is set as his bodyguard when he’s threatened by the quirkless yakuza. He doesn’t think he needs one, but they have a connection really quickly. However, things aren’t always as they seem and who’s that vigilante? It great and complete!

Finally is brilliant lights will cease to burn (by my hand i’ll reignite them) by novalotypo. This is one of the inspirations for my MHA/Cardcaptor Sakura fic. In this one, Izuku become the Cardcaptor before he would meet All Might, but he becomes disillusioned with Hero society and decides to fight against it. It doesn’t help that he has some memories from a future self that made a deal with Yuuko the Dimensional Witch that Sakura interrupted. This isn’t covered much, because it’s revealed mostly in the fourteenth chapter (the last current one). It was last updated in 2018.

Review the Demon Slayer Movie

Hello everyone! It’s been a busier week. Work has been coming to us more as the week goes on. I even stayed late one day to finish off something for the next day. There are still times it’s slow, but that’s because the lady who sends us the work has other work she does and sometimes she has a weird schedule. I never know, but maybe my supervisor does? If so, he doesn’t typically tell us.

I did the Flabébé community day on PoGo and got all three for the yellow and white versions, but sadly only got one of the orange ones. I’ll have to try again in December when they come back for the weekend. The blue and red are in other parts of the world, so I obviously didn’t get any of them.

Anyway, I  watched the Demon Slayer movie – Infinity Castle on Friday so I’ll tell you what I thought of it.

So, it has great visuals, just like the anime. I’ve completed the manga and from my memory, they did a good job keeping to the plot from it. A friend said 1 to 1, but I haven’t read it recently. I watched the Dub version, because that was what my group wanted to do. Because of that I can’t say how the subbed version sounded, but the dubbed VA’s did a good job. I personally don’t have an issue with them, but many people disliked all the flashbacks, especially how long the last one. My biggest issue with it, other than the fact we have to wait two and four years for the 2nd and 3rd movies, is that this honestly could have been a series and not been much different.

It obviously started with them falling into the Infinity Castle. You see the corp. team up start their plan to end the demons. The first fight we have is Shinobu vs. Upper Moon 2 – Doma. She tries her best, but sadly dies against him, just like her sister. Her adopted sister, Kanao finds them rights as she dies and sees her sister give her a signal, then is eaten by Doma. Having read the manga, I know what that meant, but they didn’t finish this fight in the movie.

The next big fight is between Zenitsu and New Upper Moon 6 – Kaigaku. Kaigaku was Zenitsu’s senpai and fellow inheritor of Thunder breathing. Kaigaku couldn’t use form 1, while Zenitsu can only use form 1. Kaigaku couldn’t stand being equal to someone he saw as below him and took the chance to become a demon. This led to their ‘gramps’ Jigoro to commit seppuku, causing Zenitsu to seek Kaigaku out for revenge. Zenitsu seems to be losing, until he realizes there’s not getting through to him and he uses the new Thunder breathing move he made up to kill Kaigaku, though he has many injuries.

The final and longest battle in the movie is between Tanjiro and Giyu vs Upper Moon 3 – Akaza. This is a grudge match because Akaza killed Rengoku in front of Tanjiro and the others. They both take turns trying to kill Akaza, but it’s not doing much because he can sense their ‘fighting spirit’. Tanjiro begins to remind Akaza of someone from his forgotten human memories and wants to kill him even more. Tanjiro eventually remembers something his father taught him and learns how to shut off his fighting spirit. He decapitates Akaza, but he forces his head back on. Giyu knocks it off, but Akaza lives on. However, now he’s starting to remember his human memories.

We learn all about Akaza’s life and how he cared for his sick father, even stealing for him. When he kills himself to give Akaza a better life, Akaza goes a little crazy. Keizo, a martial artist stops him and trains him. Akaza takes care of his sick daughter, Koyuki and they fall in love. They agree to get married, but when he goes away for a night, the neighbor dojo who want the building poison and kill Keizo and Koyuki. Akaza kills all of them and Muzan makes him a demon who wants to be the strongest. Akaza apologizes to his father and adopted family and tries to kill himself. It doesn’t work at first, but then Koyuki appears and they both go to hell together. Giyu and Tanjiro are injured and knocked out, not to mention Giyu’s sword is broken.

Overall, a good, but long movie.

After that long movie review, I’ll talk about the changes in what I’m listening to. First off, I finished Reincarnated as a Sword Vol 13. Then, I started relistening to By the Grace of the Gods Vol 1 by Roy. It’s a cute light novel about a worker from a black company who dies and is reincarnated in another world as a young boy. He had many misfortunes in his first life and just wants to be by himself for a while. So, he lives in a forest for three years learning about magic and studying slimes. He eventually is found by the local noble by accident. They convince him to leave live among people. It’s his story in the this new world. However, the three Gods who reincarnated him are researching why his former life was so bad at the whims of Earth’s God. There’re even side stories about what happens to those around him in his previous life.

I finished No Need for Harry by Pheonix Dawn and then listened to The Ad by kb0. It’s a three-part story Harry Potter fic, where Harry finds an ad to deal with pests in the Quibbler after fourth year. He contacts them to take out the death eaters and Vodlie. It’s interesting and doesn’t really say much about what happens after the main part of the story.

 I quickly finished it and started listening to The Accidental Bond by kb0. It’s another Harry Potter fic that I’ve talked about here. It’s a Harry/Hermione/Ginny/Gabrielle fic where Harry bonds with girls he’s saved. It’s finished and fairly good.

I also finished Pick Up the Pieces and Rebuild by Umei no Mai and started Broken Dreams by ThunderReborn. It’s a Bleach crossover fic I’ve talked about before here. It’s an Ichigo/Many girls from many stories. He gets the spirits of Kyoka Suigetsu and the Hogokyu after the fight with Aizen and they train him under everyone’s noses. Then he leaves to seek his fortunes. [Content Warning] There is incest, but Ichigo is more than human, so it’s not as skeevy. [Content Warning] It’s ongoing and has 107 chapters and is updated once a month.

Finally, I restarted the section I stopped and added, Princess of Mandalore by L4 of the WEST. It’s a Star Wars and Youjo Senki crossover. Tanya is reborn after her life as the niece of Satine Kryze, Dutches of Manadlore around when Anakin is born. In her efforts to bring her people together, she begins to change things, not only in her territory, but the galaxy. And some people don’t like that. I’ve read most of it, but stopped because I wanted to wait for a situation to be completed. I think it might be soon, so I loaded into my text-to-speech app to listen to.

Okay, I’ll do a quick few ones from my quest as this has become a longer one. The first one is Blacklight by sakurademonalchemist. It’s a Harry Potter and Forgotten Realms crossover. Fem Harry, Cerridwen accidentally gets reborn as a Drow in Drizzit’s family, but older than him. She escapes first, but they eventually meet up. Sadly only 7 chapters and incomplete.

Second is Blades of an Unlimited Sky by sakurademonalchemist. It’s a KHR and Fate/Stay Night crossover that I’ve talked about before here. It has Shiro as a Tsuna who’s lost his memories. It has 16 chapters and is of course incomplete. Third is Bleach Drabbles by sakurademonalchemist. This is a Bleach one-shot/short story collection for this author and thus is never complete while they’re still posting. I’ve talked about it before here.

Fourth is actually a lost fic, Boku no Hero Academia – Heroism and Villainy At It’s Best. I don’t know the author because when I went looking for it a little while back for this list, I couldn’t find it. I have the two chapters on my text to speech app, so it is what it is. It’s a My Hero Academia two-shot where Izuku, Himiko and Ochaco get together. It has sex scenes in it, but I’m not gonna put warnings because as far as I know, you can’t find it.

Fifth and final is Bolt Fashion by  White Angel of Auralon. It’s a two-shot Harry Potter fic that I’ve talked about before here. Harry becomes a fashion designer and saves the day. That’s literally it, just in more words, but still worth a read.

A Slightly Busier Week

Hello my readers. It’s another week and it’s been busier? Sort of? The pre-work from last week made it so the main item needed was done on Monday, but then we had to wait for others to do things. Friday was a little better, but the person that sends us the work wasn’t being quick with sending it for whatever reason. Things coming in from the other direction should pick up now, but maybe not for a few days.

I updated my fanfiction archive up to last week’s post, so that’s good. Also the reason why this post is short. Also, do you prefer longer or short posts? And would you like more information on the fics or are my descriptions fine? If anyone actually wants to post a response.

For listening changes, I finished Pick Up the Pieces and Move On by Umei no Mai and started on the last of the trilogy Pick Up the Pieces and Rebuild. In it, Xanxus has been given orders that will really hurt the bottom line of his organization. He decides to leave to spare his men, but will they allow it? Xanxus also finishes dealing with his issues and it wraps up this story. I’ve talked about it before here.

I also finished Kuma Kuma Kuma Bear Vol 3 and discovered that Reincarnated as a Sword vol 13 had come out on Audible so I started it. Fran and Teacher have managed to leave things behind in the capital after the riot and need to go back to the beginning. Teacher needs some repairs and that can only happen where he woke up. That’s however a deadly monster haunt and they have to get through it to the middle. Will they be able to and what will Fran do while he’s being repaired? Good questions. It’s fun and interesting because we learn more about why Teacher was reborn as a sword.

I completed Effects and Side Effects by Pheonix Dawn and decided to read another fic by that author, No Need for Harry. It’s a Harry Potter and Tenchi Muyo! crossover. Harry manifests the Light Hawk Wings during the encounter at the graveyard and Tenchi and the crew go to find out what’s going on. They get Harry from his relatives and train him for the summer. It’s a fun Harry/Ginny story and actually complete! I’ve talked about it before here.

Moving on to the quest, the first one is Birds of a Feather by DukeBrymin. It’s a Harry Potter Fic where Ginny is a Veela and sister to Fleur. She’s kidnapped and found by the Weasleys. While the Delacours find Harry while searching for her and take him in. They eventually meet as it’s obviously a Harry/Ginny story. Sadly, it only has 18 chapters and is incomplete with no updates since 2014.

Second is the same name, but different; Birds of a Feather by KageNekem . It’s a My Hero Academia fic where Izuku has a quirk. However, it’s powerful enough that the Hero Public Safety Commission gets his parents killed and take him to train him like they did Hawks. He and Hawks are a team and Hawks desperately wants to get him out. He sees a chance when they meet All Might, Miruko and Uraraka. All Might even still offers One-For-All to Izuku. It’s a Izuku/Ochaco fic and surprisingly what seems to be a Hawks/Miruko one. It has 27 chapters and was last updated in July.

Third is Bits and Bobs by Epeefencer. It’s a snippet Harry Potter fic about Harry and Ginny. It’s rated M for sexual situations. I’ve talked about it before here. Next is a sorta sequel, Bits and Bobs 2. It has three chapters and is about other relationship, not all of them canon. It’s interesting, but like I said, only has three chaps.

After that is Black Sky by Umei no Mai . I’ve talked about this fic many times on the blog, but it was the first fanfic I mentioned on this site on my first post here. As a reminder, it’s a Harry Potter and KHR crossover with a Fem. Harry/Xanxus pairing and has 343 chapters. Sadly hasn’t been updated recently.

Then is Black Sun by sakurademonalchemist. It’s another Harry Potter and KHR crossover. However in this one, Reborn is sent back in time and is stuck back when he was … Harry Potter. Reborn has to navigate his Hogwarts years while changing things, to be better for him. It has 7 chapters and of course hasn’t been updated since 2020.

Finally is Black Widow by White Angel of Auralon. It’s a Harry Potter one-shot where Lily and Petunia are black widows raised by a Grindelwald supporter. They set things up for their husbands to die and take their money and raise the children to be like them. Not a happy story, but still an interesting take.

Well anyway, I need to work on cleaning up where I live as a friend is coming to visit. I need to reorganize my books again as I have more than what will fit on my shelves again. Rather Short Then Late, Right?

Hello, my readers. This week has been a bit more interesting, but next week is going to be busier. We pre-did some of the work for next week so it would go faster, but I still don’t get why it was changed from the last week of August to the first week of September. We’ve always done the work then and it made sense because in that everything would be ready for September. But there’s nothing I can really do about that other than do the work when told to.

I haven’t changed much in my listening stories. I finished Pick Up The Pieces and Take Stock by Umei no Mai and started it’s sequel, Pick Up the Pieces and Move On. It follows Xanxus as he deals with newly discovered family and figuring out where he wants to go from where he is currently. [*Content Warning*] There are male and male sexual situations in this. It’s not crucial to the fic so can be skipped. Otherwise, don’t like, don’t read. [*Content Warning*] I’ve talked about it before here.

I also finished Space Mercenary: I Woke Up Piloting the Strongest Starship vol 12 and started Kuma Kuma Kuma Bear Vol 3 (the current last one on Audible). In it, Yuna is finally at the capital and has to deal with the people there, while finding food stuffs needed to make some of her favorite foods.

Moving onto the quest, first is Beltane Child by White Angel of Auralon. It’s a Harry Potter fic where during the Horcrux quest in book 7, he goes to a Beltane celebration and gets roped into being the horned warrior to Daphne Greengrass’s goddess. She gets pregnant and when Harry discovers her after things don’t go well with Ginny after the war, he decides to take his fatherly duties seriously. [*Content Warning*] Slight sexual situations, all characters are above the English age of consent (16) [*Content Warning*]. Completed with 11 chapters.

Second is Best Served Cold by sakurademonalchemist. It’s a Harry Potter time travel fic with a slight Hellsing crossover. I’ve talked about it before here.  It’s unfinished and hasn’t updated since 2017. Third is Better Left Unsaid by Kenchi618. It’s a Naruto fic where Mizuki didn’t tell him about the Kyuubi during their battle. I’ve talked about it before here. It has 85 chapters and hasn’t updated since 2023.

Next is Between Lies and Truth by sakurademonalchemist. It’s a Harry Potter and KHR fic where Colonello is Harry. It’s set before they’re cursed. I’ve talked about it before here. It’s unfinished with 10 chaps and hasn’t updated since 2018.

After that is Beyond the Outer Gates Lies by gabriel blessing. It’s a Harry Dresden and High School DxD crossover. I haven’t read the Harry Dresden series (even though I own and have read a little of the first book), but he’s a wizard in New York who is essentially a private detective. The one in this story is a version from latter in the series and he locks some extradimensional attackers out of his world at the cost of being on the wrong side. He defeats them all, barely, but uses a tricky power to escape from Great Red. He ends up in Kouh de-aged to a teenager and ends up in Kouh Academy. How will he react when he learns of the supernatural elements of this world? And how are they different from his own? It’s a fun, completed, 3 chapter fic.

Finally, there’s a trilogy by megamatt09; Beyond the Veil Volume One: Arrival , Beyond the Veil Book 2 Challenges, and Beyond the Veil Book 3: Deception. It’s a Harry Potter and Marvel crossover, with DC elements coming in starting in Book 2. Harry follows Sirius through the Veil of Death, and ends up in the Marvel universe. Eventually, he ends up at the Xavior Institute (in the X-Men: Evolution timeline) and tries to find Sirius and maybe a way back. He ends up with many Marvel and DC characters, starting with Kitty Pryde. [*Content Warning*] There are many sex scenes and underage sex (though they’re still in high school) and Harry with older women as well. Sex scenes can be skipped [*Content Warning*]. The trilogy is complete.

Anyway, I finally got a Switch 2, though I don’t have any new games for it. I mainly got it because I wanted to get it before the price potentially rises (I know it might not, but you never know) and in prep for Pokémon Legends Z-A. I’ve preordered it and Digimon: Time Stranger and am looking forward to them in October. At some point soon, I’ll try and update my Fanfiction database with all the new fics I’ve talked about. A Short One This Week

This week and particularly Thursday and Friday have been super boring. I’ve started having a slight physical problem, but I’m working on it. Also, my dog has apparently been causing issues at his doggy day care (he’s there because others who would look after him during the day are temporarily unavailable), mostly messing with the puppies.

I’ll start off with more of the anime I’m watching this season. The Fragrant Flower Blooms With Dignity has been as great as I thought, though Netflix being stupid about releasing it is annoying. Secrets of the Silent Witch has also been a great watch.

I’ve also been watching Private Tutor to the Duke’s Daughter. I reread and caught up to the current manga chapter (the anime has gone past it) but haven’t read the light novels (because there’s 16ish volumes). The MC, Allen, has finished magic academy, but failed under mysterious circumstances to become a court magician. His teacher recommends him to help a Duke’s daughter in the country that’s having issues with magic but wants to go to the academy. It’s been pretty interesting, but I like the previous two better.  

There’s also The Water Magician. I read the manga for the first time and the anime is worth a read/watch, but also not interesting. Its anime is also past the manga. It’s about Ryo who gets reincarnated with the ability to control water magic. He trains in the middle of no-where because he didn’t want to be around people. When he saves someone who was shipwrecked, he decides to follow them to learn more about the new world he’s in. I’ll talk about a few more next time.

Onto the listening changes; first is that I finished The Rabbitverse by ShadowedSword13. Next in my listening order was Hands Off (My Hero). It’s a one-shot about Rabbit confronting the newly caught Shiggy about attacking Ochaco. Then is another one-shot also set when they’re still at UA and before Rabbit leaves, Not Your CI (But I Might as Well Be). In it Rabbit is trying to make a deal with a villain group, but then Froppy calls asking for information on them … Yeah, that doesn’t go down well.

The main fic in the series is next, Down the Rabbit Hole. This takes place after Rabbit comes back to Japan and Ochaco has been a hero for a while. Rabbit decides the best time to seduce her is when she’s in the middle of a stake out on him. It gets better from there and it’s a fun fic. Finally is Mannerisms. It’s got a few chapters that about what mannerisms Ochaco finds that Rabbit has after the ending of Down the Rabbit Hole. After I finished it, I decided to listen to Ataraxia by a1lvera5hley that I mentioned last week.

I also finished Using the Force Made Easy by Fencer22 and decided to listen to Pick Up The Pieces and Take Stock by Umei no Mai. It a Katekyo Himan Reborn fanfic set after the end of the series. I’ve talked about it here. Finally, I finished Poor SAP Gohan’s Secret’s Revealed by dragonprincess3 and decided not to add an new one for it, so now I’m down a story and that’s fine. I can add and subtract as many as I want.

Now onto the B’s for the quest; First is Back in Black by sakurademonalchemist. It’s a Harry Potter and Supernatural crossover. I’ve talked about it before here. It has 44 chapter, but (as always) is incomplete.

Second is Back to the Beginning by Aliandris. It’s a My Hero Academia fanfic where things change during the Jaku City attack. Ochaco is killed by Shigaraki and Izuku goes after him and dies. But there’s also another timeline where Izuku and then Ochaco is killed by Toga during the same conflict. The main difference? Izuku had One-for-All in the first and Ochaco had it in the second. The Second user had a slight time travel quirk (instead of the canon one) and both timelines activate it at the same time. They’re sent back in time together to before they both would have gotten the quirk. They have to try and save the future while deciding who gets the quirk. It’s an awesome fic and has 92 chapters, but sadly hasn’t updated since Oct 2024.

Third is Backwards with a Purpose Part 1: Always and Always by deadwoodpecker. It’s another time travel fic, but this time with Harry Potter. Harry, Ginny and Ron are the last survivors of the war and they find a way to go back to save everyone. However, things are not as they once were and things have been changed in a way to make it harder for them. It’s finished and even has a sequel, that’s not on this list.

Next is Bandit King by Night Raydes. It’s a Harry Potter with a slight crossover with the King of Bandit (manga) fanfic where Harry is abandoned by his parents for his younger sister. He’s taken by the King of Bandit and learns his craft. Fast forward to 16, he returns to England and decides to help his younger sisters, in spite of his parents. Sadly, the author (formerly many names but I have them as Myrddin de Celestis on the site) has run out of inspiration and after many bad (or no) reviews decided to stop writing in Nov 2024.

I’ll finish with Bank Account by White Angel of Auralon. It’s a Harry Potter one-shot. In it a neighbor who works the Dursley’s bank sees how Harry is treated and forced to work without pay. She decides to set it up discreetly to have some money set aside from their account into one for Harry to pay him for his work.
