On the Correct Day!

Saturday

This should be on the correct day (Monday). Today I mostly read fanfictions I’ve already mentioned on here: Ichigo Awakens, Child of the Storm, and select chapters of Soul Chess. That doesn’t mean, I didn’t read or watch anything else. I read a new chapter for the fanfiction ‘An Essence of Silver and Steel” by James D. Fawkes. It’s a crossover fic between Worm and a story from TypeMoon “Fate/kaleid liner Prisma Illya” (lets shorten it to Prisma). Prisma is an in alternate universe to the Fate/Stay Night universe and has one the characters from that one (Illya, a homunculous) getting an alive magic stick named ‘Ruby’. She and others, including someone who has another magic stick named ‘Sapphire’, have to fine ‘Class Cards’ in order to save the tower. Things devolve from there. Oh, did I mention that the magic sticks have a warped personality from their creator, a Dead Apostle (TypeMoon’s vampires) named Zelretch who is the ultimate troll. Still it’s fun (think of it as a nicer Puella Magi Madoka Magica, if you understand the reference).

Basically in An Essence of Silver and Steel, Zelretch (who can travel and pull energy from parallel worlds) finds that the ‘Worm’ world does not really have magic anymore and sends another magic stick to find out why. It finds it’s way to becoming Taylor’s power. Things go right and wrong. It’s one of the fics that shows that, yeah, Worm is a dark hero story, so things have to go wrong. I would recommend it. The other main thing I did was watch a few episodes of the Amazon Prime series, “Jack Ryan.” I haven’t read the books or watched any of the movie’s, but this is a really good series. Jack Ryan is a former Marine who is now a CIA analyst who sees a threat before anyone else and convinces his new boss to go after this guy. Things go wrong and now they’re trying to find him and stop him, while Jack is learning the experience of going out into the field. I recognized the actor for Jack Ryan from The Office (Though I haven’t seen much of it, mostly funny compilations on YouTube) and found I like Jack Ryan more than I thought I would.

Sunday

Today was a mostly focused on Ichigo Awakens, but I did read a few other things. The first one is a fic I started rereading, ‘A Protector’s Pride’ by NeoRyu777. It’s a Bleach fic that has Ichigo dealing with his inner Hollow before he meets the Vizards. Instead of one time beat down, they decide to do it every two weeks and whoever wins is in charge until the next time. Has a more forward thinking Ichigo. Then there was a fanfiction I read for the first time, ‘Unto the Breach’ by Backslash Echo. It’s a Naruto fic that’s 11 chapters and been around since 2015, but it was updated in August of this year, so maybe still good. It has Naruto being sent accidentally back in time in the fight against Tobi while holding the Tailed Beasts. All the jinchuuriki’s have their memories back, and maybe some others too. I also dabbled in a fic (meaning I started reading, but will come back later and see if I want to read) that is a crossover between Fate/Stay Night and Sword Art Online called ‘Fate Revelation Online’ by daniel-gudman. Sword Art Online is a anime/light novel about a gamer ‘Kirito’ who along with thousands of others is trapped in a VR (Virtual Reality) MMORPG (Massive Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game) that the title is named after until they can clear it. The main catch, if you die in the game, you die in reality. The helmet that allows to connect to the game will fry the player if taken off or if it losses power. Watch as Kirito, Asuna and their friends try to beat the game, for the first half of the first season. After that Asuna gets kind of sidelined and while it comes back to her, she’s only really important in that she’s with Kirito. I like the series, but know that some people don’t. Watch/read it if you want.

Fate Revelation Online has Shiro and Illya joining the game (which is different because the creator is also a magus). It didn’t catch my fancy at this time, but will come back and see later. The link to the fic is – https://www.fanfiction.net/s/9740933/1/Fate-Revelation-Online.

I got a new chapter for a still short story called ‘Roofie” by Lunar-L. It’s a Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug and Chat Noir fic that has an adult Marinette being roofied at a fashion party and being saved by Adrian. Her drugged state has her revealing that she likes him. It’s only on the fourth chapter and is finally the morning after (nothing happens, he just takes her home) and they’re both thinking about last night and what will happen from now on. Monday

I will post today, and man was today a large one for new fics. I caught up to where I hadn’t read of Ichigo Awakens and took a break from it for today. I read a new chapter of Mauling Snarks as it is Monday. Before I go into the fics I haven’t read before, I started rereading a RWBY fic called ‘Remnant’s Reclaimer’ by Hysterical Clerical Hijinks. It has an a little over 7 year’s older RWBY running so fast with her Semblance (along with an explosion) to accidentally travel back in time to her first year of Beacon (in a massively AU storyline that has Cinder as the main big bad). She then decides to stop Cinder’s plans (She didn’t merge with her younger self). It has lesbian couples in it, so if you don’t like, don’t read. The same author – Quatermass, wrote all the rest of the fanfictions I read today. The first one I read was called ‘Is Your Great-Aunt and AI!?’ and is a Harry Potter and Portal crossover. Portal is a set of two games about an insane AI, GLaDOS, who takes over a research facility after her human mind is uploaded and she goes insane. You play the mute character Chell, who must use a Portal Gun to solve challenges and escape. In this fic, Harry is sent to live with his great-aunt before she becomes GLaDOS and helps her stay (relatively) sane. She discovers his magic (which she calls ‘Will-based Tranmogrification Force’ or WFT) and he eventually goes to Hogwarts. However he has a more scientifically minded outlook, so things are interesting. Especially when the Morgan Freeman (from Half-Life) characterization from Freeman’s Mind (a YouTube video set on the channel Accursed Farms – the link to the channel is – https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCJ6KZTTnkE-s2XFJJmoTAkw). I watched a few episodes and will watch more later, but my favorite line so far (which is also in the fic) is “I am Captain Gordon Freeman of the Intergalactic House of Pancakes ordering you to open”. The next one is called ‘Ex Umbra in Solem’ (which is Latin for ‘From the Shadows into the Light’) and is a Harry Potter and Fate/Zero crossover. Fate/Zero is the prequel to Fate/Stay Night and tells the story of the Fourth Grail War (Fate/Stay Night is the Fifth Grail War). The fic has Harry being thrown through the veil of death after things go wrong in the final battle and everyone he cares for dies. Umbridge (Umbitch) takes over the ministry and after trying to kill him in other ways (he’s the Master of Death) they kill him with the veil. He doesn’t die and ends up in a summoning circle along with Saber (Athuria Pendragon). He’s not a servant. Watch how his actions change the war. It is incomplete, but still being worked on. (A quick interlude, I forgot to mention this yesterday, but I also read the fic by Quatermass called ‘HoneyMoon’. It’s their only Harry/Ginny story and has them honeymooning on the Moon in this cool one-shot. The link to the story is – https://www.fanfiction.net/s/11790040/1/HoneyMoon)

The one after that is ‘Pulvis et Umbra Sumus’ (which is Latin for ‘We are Dust and Shadow’) and is a Harry Potter and RWBY crossover. It has Harry being the son of Qrow and Gretchen Rainart (who was transported to the HP universe and died in childbirth after being tortured). Qrow and Raven go and get him at the end of third year. A Diverse Weekend

Friday –

Today was an interesting day as I went through many fanfiction to find one that would keep my attention. I’ve had this problem before, either I have to find something else to do or I find a fanfiction that can keep my attention. This one lead me through several including several whose original stories I haven’t mentioned here yet. I finished reading Heroes Assemble! and then moved onto ‘Skittering Campione’ by Greatazuredragon. It’s a crossover between Worm (Skitter is Taylor’s first cape name) and a series called Campione!. It was a light novel then became an anime that only has one season so far. The main character (Godo Kusanagi) is a normal high school student until on trip he finds himself in a fight between two gods who have become ‘Heretic’ (meaning they rebel against being wherever they normally are and cause destruction to the world). Through a set of unlikely circumstances (Or the most obvious circumstances if you look at how often that happens in stories), Godo defeats one of the Gods with the help of a ‘witch’ and becomes a Campione or God Slayer. This means he gets power from the God(s) he defeats. Look it up, it’s good.

Anywho, in the fanfiction at the end of Worm, Taylor is transported to Campione! universe and is transformed in a campione because of her defeat of the big bad of her universe. Watch as her actions change the Campione! universe for the good, funny and weird. I went through a few one shots after that and only one was interesting, but it was an omake of a conversation in another fanfiction that would only take longer to go through, so I’ll talk about the omake when I read that fanfiction. The next one I actually read was ‘A Growing Affection’ by Xavon Wrentaile. It is a Naruto fanfiction. Like Harry Potter is the top of the Book section of FF.net in number of stories, so is Naruto the top of the Anime section. I’m actually surprised it too me this long to get to a Naruto story. For those of you who don’t know, Naruto is about a young boy who wants to became a ninja and the leader of his village, the Hokage. The only thing wrong with that is that most of the village hates him because he has a great monster (The Kyuubi) sealed in his gut through no fault of his own. Watch or read as this boy goes through hard work, teachers who barely teach him anything, getting hit by teammates, betrayal, hate, anger and many other things to save the world and gain the love and affection of the village that hated him (Yeah like KHR, I have some issues with the way the main character is treated. I mean his godfather doesn’t even come in until after the first few arcs and it’s never even mentioned that he’s his godfather until later when we find out who his parents were in the sequel story set three years after the original story ends.) There’s also now a story about the new generation out too, Boruto.

Moving on the fanfiction is set in the sequel story Naruto Shippuuden and follows an alternate storyline and focuses on Naruto getting together with Hinata (my favorite pairing that’s also canon) and dealing with the issues around him. Saturday

So I’ll start off the story I mentioned in yesterday’s part, ‘Soul Chess’ by draconichero21. This a one of favorites and it is a crossover between Code Geass and Bleach. Bleach, for those who don’t know, is like Naruto as being one of most popular mangas/animes of the past generation (as the original generation of Naruto is finished anyway). It’s about Ichigo Kurosaki a high school student who can see ghosts. He has a run in with a Hollow (Monster spirits who want to eat you) and a Shinigami (‘Good’ spirits who have the power to purify Hollows and send ghosts to the afterlife) named Rukia Kuchiki. He ends up becoming a Shinigami and gets involved in (Wouldn’t you know it) a plot to save the world (because the afterlife is crap and nobles who don’t care about people run it). Other than my personal issues with the governing system of the afterlife (Soul Society), this is a good story. Though it gets convoluted in the last arc.

In the fanfiction, Lelouch from Geass ends up in the Soul Society long before even the flashbacks in Bleach. Watch as his actions change things, for better or worse. I wouldn’t recommend this unless you’ve at least watched Code Geass and possibly a bit of Bleach too. It’s 208 chapters and a teaser for a remake fic with more crossover characters in it to be at sometime in the future. I also reread the fanfiction ‘Pick up the Pieces and Move On’ by the first author I mentioned, Umei no Mai. It’s a sequel to the fic ‘Pick up the Pieces and Take Stock’ and they both deal with the after story of KHR through the lens of Xanxus in dealing with a ‘father’ who can’t see how he wronged Xanxus, a to-be leader who doesn’t know anything and doesn’t want the job and all the mental and physical issues he’s got because of his upbringing and the KHR story. They’re both good stories that are 8 chapters each with a third and final story in the works that Umei no Mai will finish before continuing Black Sky. I read more than 20 chapters of Growing Affection and a new chapter for the story, ‘Stark Imprint’ by Arthur Hansen which is a crossover story between Worm and Ironman. One of Tony Stark’s suits ends up in the Worm universe and when Taylor finds it (a few years before Worm’s start), it downloads a copy of his brain into hers. She gets his memories and talents while remaining herself and becomes a non-powered cape in the Worm-verse. Today I went to a small birthday dinner for a church friend and learned that her granddchild has written fanfiction and is on FF.net. I haven’t read either of their stories, but their user name is DesertAnubis. There is a Dragon Ball Z fic (that’s been abandoned after 35 chapters) and a new Yu-Gi-Oh! fic that has been finished IRL, but is slowly being posted. I read some more Soul Chess and Growing Affection, but other than that I just have a story I started rereading and a new chapter for a story I haven’t mentioned yet. The story is called ‘Broken Dreams’ by ThunderReborn and is a Bleach story where after the Winter War, things are different and Ichigo gains his enemy’s sword and most powerful tool. He is trained by them and his own sword while everyone thinks he’s powerless and ignores him. When he graduates high school he walks away and has several crossovers (starting with High School DxD). The new chapter is from the fanfiction ‘ Mending the Knots’ by azndrgn (the author who I’m editing for on another story). It’s a RWBY story where Jaune doesn’t get into Beacon and starts a massage business. It’s fun and still has your favorite characters in it. The main reason I didn’t read much else is that I got the app Fate/Grand Order (from the same universe as Fate/Stay Night [though without the rated R stuff]). I got caught up in it, KHUx and PoGo (I finally moved on to the fourth set of the Celebi quests). See you tomorrow when I actually post all this.

Monday

So as usual for today, I read the new chapter of Mauling Snarks. I also spent time on Fate/Grand Order and KHUx again. I also reread two stories by SeerKing that are finished or not currently being worked on. They are ‘RWBY – Poison Promise’ and ‘RWBY – Flame of Atonement’. In the first one, Ruby is posioned and it deals with finding who did it and curing her. The second one deals with the aftermath. Poison Promise done at 10 chapter and Flame of Atonement is on hiatus at 4 chapters. I read sakurademonalchemist’s newest story (Again not finishing any of their older ones) ‘Elemental Sky’ in which a female Tsuna learn that she is cousins with the Sand Siblings from Naruto (Temari, Kankaro, and Gaara) and goes to visit them (at a time before the chunin exams). I also started rereading the story ‘Becoming a Man Among Men’ by Dragon6. It is based on the Ranma 1/2 story which is about Ranma, a high school aged martial artist who accidentally falls into a cursed pool that causes him to become an aquatransexual (which means he turns into a girl when hit by cold water and back to a boy when hit by hot water). He is then forced to agree to marry one of three daughters of his (abusive, thieving, lying, habitually agreeing to marriage contracts for his son for silly things) father’s friend. Ranma has to deal with multiple fiancees, men who are after said fiancees and people who blame him for what his father did (I swear, I have not seen a story with so many character with daddy issues and some mommy issues). Becoming a Man Among Men has Ranma reading his father’s journal after becoming an aquatransexual and learns of all of his father’s misdeeds and his planning to marry him to his friend’s daughter. Sixth Day

Hello again everyone! Wow, tomorrow I will have posted on this blog for a full week. Today was mostly a day filled with reading more chapters of Recoil and finishing rereading the High School DxD fic whose name I will not mention outside an R rated section (it only has 11 chapters so far). I did however read a few new chapters from a fanfiction authors I haven’t mentioned yet.

The name of the fanfic is ‘Service with a Smile’ and is an RWBY fic by Coeur Al’Aran. He has written many long length RWBY stories (with the character Jaune Arc as the main one), including a few over 60 chapters. Service with a Smile is one of a set of three stories that start off with the consequences of his forged transcripts. This one deals with them not being good enough and him not getting in. ‘In the Kingdom’s Service’ deals with him getting in, but the transcripts getting a type of secret service suspicion and being forced to join. The last one, ‘Professor Arc’, his transcripts are too good and the school hires him as a assistant teacher instead. He has others, but those are the ones connected to the one I read a chapter of today. I read a new chapter yesterday from the story ‘Code Geass: Roar of the Rebellion’ by RyoshiMorino. It’s a crossover fanfiction between Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion and several Zoids animes. Code Geass is an anime where Great Britain was chased from their islands by Napoleon and took over the colonies. They then became a superpower and have begun taking over most of the world except China and Europe. Lelouch’s, the eleventh prince, mother (one of the king’s consorts) was killed and his sister hurt. However, when he demanded his father do something about it (he’s only eleven), he and his wheelchair bound younger sister, Nunnally, to Japan as bargaining tools. Britannia then invades not too much later and the two are thought to be dead. Years later, Lelouch gets accidentally caught up in a terrorist attack and encounters a girl who gives him a power. Using this power, he joins up with the Japanese terrorists and begins a rebellion to defeat his father and find out who murdered his mother. Oh, and there are giant humanoid fighting robots too.

Code Geass is one of my favorite animes. Not only is it a great story, but the ending and symbolism it entails is beyond words in my opinion. I’m not sure how I feel about the new season/movie that is coming out next year (I think), it really depends on how they play it past the ending.

Zoids also includes giant fighting robots, but these instead are animal shaped, somewhat sentient, and the main character usually pilots a Liger zoid. The last of the new chapters I read today was from a story called ‘Bits and Bobs’ by Epeefencer. It is a story of currently 218 chapters made up of short snippets of story of Harry and Ginny’s lives (Harry Potter), mostly not connected, but in the most recent chapters have included R rated content (so people know). I’m a huge fan of Epeefencer’s stories and have read all of them (all Harry/Ginny stories). He hasn’t been posting much recently, but there is a lot of stories to get through if you’re new to his stories. Fifth Day

Hello mina (everyone in Japanese)! Today was also short on reading time, but not just because I didn’t have time. Part of it was that I messed around on my computer and watched all the Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood openings and another part was that I spent time with other people raiding on PoGo because – The Celebi quests are up! One of the first set of quests was to battle in a raid and on my local PoGo chat they were talking about a Regirock raid happening nearby. So I drove over and we won the raid, but I didn’t catch it. However, there was another one half an hour later I was also in that we won and I caught that one. Yay, because it was my first one! On the other hand, in the second set of Celebi quests it wants you to catch at least one Pokemon for three days so I can’t advance until Wednesday.

The most recent reason I was short on reading time was that for over two hours Fanfiction.net was offline. Shortly after I started writing it came back on and I’ve read that it was because the location that the servers for it are located had a power outage. I was rereading a fanfic called ‘Recoil’ by an author I mentioned yesterday, ack1308, that’s about Worm. I’d actually gotten permission a while back to make a reading fanfiction about this story. I started and got the prestory and the first chapter done, but I stopped and I want to get started again now that I’ve thought of it again. It’s a everything goes wrong story that ends up with Taylor going back in time 22 years to try to fix it. Definitely recommend it. Here’s the link – https://www.fanfiction.net/s/10286919/1/Recoil. A story that I am one of the betas for updated with a new chapter. The story is called ‘History’s Strongest Disciple Again?’ by azndrgn. It is based on the manga/anime called “History’s Strongest Disciple Kenichi” or “Kenichi the Mightiest Disciple”. In this, a high school loser joins a martial arts school (mostly because of the hot granddaughter of one of the Masters but also because he gets beat up a lot), learns multiple disciplines and gets caught up in the martial arts world’s battle between light and dark. It’s a good series. azndrgn is also a great writer and has many fanfics, mostly having to do with RWBY. R rated content

Okay, I had to put that up not only because of the content of the story (both the original and the fanfiction) but because of the title itself – ‘Go Away I’m Watching Porn’ by another author I previously mentioned Third Fang (and the main character actually does say that within the first few chapters). Now with a title like that you would think that it involves porn, it does just not in the story so far (as in characters having sex), but it is mentioned and referenced a lot. This is because, even in the original story, the main character Issei is obsessed with breasts and creating his own harem. No, you did not read me wrong, a harem. The original story is called “High School DxD” and was originally a light novel and then became a manga and anime.

Go Away I’m Watching Porn starts long before the main storyline of DxD and involves a OC (Original Character) from the other of his main stories, whose name is Ghost. He gets involved with Issei for various reasons and screws up the universe (which he often does) so much that instead of enjoying High School after the time skip to the time of the main storyline, Issei is instead a shut in who has issues with crowds and being touched. Third Day

Hello, guys and gals! Didn’t read much today because I had some other things to do today. However, I did read 23 chapters of Ashes of the Past, the fanfiction I mentioned yesterday. By the 24th chapter Ash already has the 8 badges for the Kanto region (Red, Blue & Yellow games) and should get to the first movie soon (the author includes the movies in the story).

Yesterday I also read a Harry Potter one shot fanfiction (with only one chapter). It was called ‘In the Heat of the Night’ by Brennus, who is a writer of slightly darker Harry/Ginny stories. This one is about Ginny having to pay the consequences for her parents breaking the law on Dumbledore’s orders in a different storyline. It has a happy ending, in a way, but not for everyone. He has several other Harry Potter stories (all Harry/Ginny), a RWBY two part series and a Darker than BLACK fic. The link to his page is – https://www.fanfiction.net/u/4577618/Brennus.

For those who don’t know, RWBY is an online animated show by Rooster Teeth. It follows Team RWBY, a group of four girls named Ruby, Weiss, Blake & Yang, and their friends through school training to hunt beasts called Grim. The characters are based off of fairy tale characters: Ruby (Red Riding Hood), Weiss (Snow White), Blake (Beauty & and the Beast) & Yang (Rapunzel or Goldie Locks). However, they are badass! I mean, Ruby has a huge scythe that can turn into a gun! It’s definitely worth watching. Here is a link to the first episode – https://roosterteeth.com/episode/rwby-season-1-episode-1. Rooster Teeth has quite a few other shows that are really good, like Red vs Blue, so take a look at them too. I can talk about Darker than BLACK and Red vs Blue on a later post.

The last thing I’ll mention is that for those who like anime theme songs and would like to hear an English Version of some of your favorite ones old and new, a YouTuber with the channel name of LeeandLie does that. She has english versions of the Japanese Digimon theme, Full Metal Alchemist themes (original and Brotherhood), and many more.
